That's true, it doesn't hurt. And lol, and I do like the poll on that Squidoo page. 77% say they "can't explain how badly they want it". That's me! :D

With the article that Dirk posted a few days ago, there may be something in the pipelines already.... we need an inside man.

    Who can infiltrate EA?

Personally I think that if, emphasis on the if, Maxis ever makes a SC5, it will not sell, and be as good in general, as SC4. If Maxis does release a SC5, I probably will buy it, because I'm a SimCity Geek. However, I doubt it will meet the standards set by SC4. I mean, SC4 had bugs, and the graphics are considered obsolete today, but it had a good foundation. They added a LOT of new features, and made the game more realistic than SC3, and I don't think Maxis can top what they did in SC4. I think that with the updates, and with adding custom content, SC4 is better than what Maxis could make in SC5. For all we know SC5 could be a copy of SCS, which we all know was a dud.

What's there to comment? It's nothing but a short summary of things nobody knows better than communities like this one. *shrugs*

I am done waiting... not really, I would buy it if it came out, but I think the program they wrote for user based building was a way of saying good bye... looking back I should have thought it that way, rather than a lets see what people are asking for more of in a game.

I don't want a SC5 from EA. I've said this a million times before on these boards, WE ALREADY HAVE AN SC5! People like Tarkus (and the rest of the NAM Team), ITS, BSC, DuskTrooper (He's been away awhile, but gave us some fantastic buildings!), and other individuals and groups have giving us countless expansion packs over the years. Forget SC5, if EA is going to abandon the original platform and "dumb it down" to make it easier and more youthful (Societies), I don't want anything to do with it. Keep the expansion packs coming Simtropolis and SC4D members! Each NAM release in and of itself if an expansion pack greater then that of Rush Hour. Thanks to the NAM, I have an entire Mass Transit System built of Streetcars, that wasn't possible with the original EA/Maxis Copy, neither were realistic highways, realistic roads (NWM), better rails, new stations, etc. Seriously, we have been blessed with the members of these communities. I have been playing Sim City 4 since the very first one came out, I've been a member of Simtropolis for over 6 years, and have never seen better SC4 additions, and custom content than I have since I have come to this website. Forget EA people. Keep developing SC4.

    Totally agree with nycsc4...

We've got so much custom content nowadays... even if EA releases Sim City 5, there'd be not as much content as we've got with SC4 today.

Maybe it would be easier to build complicated Highway interchanges or easier to construct nice W2W cities... whatever.. personally I rather take some time to build a nice interchange and so on... with so much custom content we are already able to build better things than with an potential SC5.

And even if it comes out someday, i doubt it would even meet our needs.. probably just another shelf warmer like CitiesXL

Sim City 4 is the best of the series. I have Socioties, which is the 5th. After all that SC4 is still the best of the Sim City Games. I think a 5th would be a mistake. Its fine the way it is.:thumb:

I recently installed bootcamp on my mac and installed windows xp and simcity 4 rush hour. I gotta say that my experience with Simcity4 has improved so much that I've dumped my mac version of the game. It was the most frustrating experience trying to play the game on my mac for years. For me it is like playing a brand new game all over again. The speed of the game is very snappy and the crashes and abrupt quits are gone.

I agree with some of the other comments here; Simicty 4 was such a badly coded game, especially the mac version, that really - if Simcity 5 were to become a reality, then EA would do well to concentrate on coding and contract in or employ many of graphical talents of Simtropolis and SC4 Devotion forum posters.

Oh, this page is rustacious old. I really don't care for SC5. Will all the mods I have, I already have my own little version of SC5.

Funny you say that 2four. When I bought my Mac I did the Bootcamp thing for awhile, but found the crashes, glitches, and other problems I've had got worse. So I bought the Mac copy, I can now leave SC4 open for several days, no crashes, no zoom error, occasionally I will get a freeze, but that was expected. I decided to switch to my old Desktop PC for SC4 (from bootcamp) and when I transferred all of my SC4 files from my bootcamp drive to my Mac drive as a backup, then deleted the bootcamp drive and installed SC4 and the files from my Mac drive on my other Windows 7 PC, not one file worked, lost everything. Didn't play the game for months, then bought the Mac copy, I have rebuilt everything, and more, and no major problems. But I have to agree even though it's gotten better on the Mac EA could have done a much better job at coding the game.
