Yeah, Maxis just decided to ditch gameplay features for multiplayer and forced-online that no one was asking for at the same time EA is pushing for online-only.

    Sure Frank...

Developer: Okay, EA, here is our game, its going to have a rich singleplayer experi-

    EA: Multiplayer.

Developer: But EA, our game is focuses on single player. It would be a waste to tack on-

    EA: MULTIPLAYER. NOW.

Developer: *Sighs* Fine, we'll add multiplayer. We want to-

EA: DLC. Now. And Origin requirments.

"We don't meddle" my rear end.

I find it funny that he says they don't intervene when less than a week ago, he mentioned that they don't publish solely single-player games. Would this not be considered meddling?

EA just looking for someone to take the blame as usual.

Would SC2013 require Origin and be multiplayer only if maxis was independent of EA? I doubt it very much.

I also love the fact that he refers to the people vocally unhappy about the directions he's pushing as a "vocal minority." That's always what people say when they're engaged in damage control...

EA not interfering with its studios...LMAO

Like maxis came to the realization that the new sim city should look like a bad cartoon and be all online with constant connection required...hmmm

EA not interfering? They closed down Westwood, now the new CnCs are poor.

They tried a takeover of Valve, purely so they can get their hands on Steam. All EA are interested are the franchises and not the studies... they tried a takeover of Rockstar. Luckily both failed. If EA took over Rockstar, that would've been GTA ruined.

You would have Grand theft Madden if EA got there hands on Rockstar. They also tried to take over 2K and Take2 but failed again. How long will it be before EA wrecks Bioware.

You're all caught in some intricate wordplay.

He's yechnically right- they don't meddle with games; that would be stupid and counter to making good games that sell lots of copies. But you can bet your mother's arse that they make strict requirements for games BEFORE they accept a contract as publisher.

It's not meddling if you just refuse to agree to publish games with no multiplayer and that are not on origin.
