About this City Journal

In this journal we will rate, classify and improve all of the vanilla buildings in C:SL. Each journal entry will feature one building, and you can contribute to it with your comments!
The goals: Creation of a database – Grouping in district styles – Improvement of the colour variations and textures – Reclassification for future overhaul mods (like CAM)

You can read more about the idea in this forum thread. I think that a city journal is a best format for this. To make it a legit journal, I will show you the majestic city "Resource Replacer Capital" in the first entry ;)

In the last few weeks I experimented with the graphic settings of the game, especially LUTs and shadows.

The result is the Softer Shadows mod and the Neutral Color LUT. Both will be used for asset reviews. Here are the settings and mods I want to use in the future:

presets.thumb.png.1245d5884a722a71eeb6f6

Here is a direct comparison between the previous setup and the new setup:

20160312025637_1.thumb.jpg.036b828b2701020160312025753_1.thumb.jpg.1b29c938a948f

The shadows are brighter, colours are less saturated. Unlike other LUTs, the neutral LUT does not alter the colours or the contrast.

Here are a few more pictures taken with the new setup:
