Around Town...

Replies:

@JGellock: Thanks!

@Heitomat: Thanks! I really liked how this entry went together... I used the FARR as it broke the grid (especially on organic, flat farmland terrain. Oh fine, I'll teach ya, someday. It's not too hard (do you have PEG's Brigantine Water?)

@escilnavia I was aiming for a satellite-like town. Thankyou.

@skyscraper241: I'm quite proud of how the beach turned out. Thanks.

@HamsterTK: Ok, point taken. I'll try to use a bit smaller rocks in the future. Glad you enjoyed the trees. And thankyou for commenting and the constructive criticism.

I'm not going to caption as it's late, but I will 'dump' these pics. Enjoy.

@TowerDude, Vivpanda; I do draw some influence from Dutch style, as well as some German ideas. Copenhagen? I've never been there, thats interesting. And whilst I've never stopped in Basel, the few glimpses I got from the train was quite nice (I've been to Luzern and Bern).

@Heitomat: Thanks! This is my first try using RHW-6C in my cities, I needed it as it's compact and suits the inner city.

Done. Thanks for the link, you should see the change now.

@kakado_to_save: Thanks!

Did you think it was going to be all W2W old city? :no:

This is Krōmebi (literally 'Town on the Krōme'). A drive north of Noki, it is a popular weekend town known for its tranquility and scenery.

The train station is the centre of town. Immediately to the north and west of the town is the national border. Henceforth, Krōmebi recieves many immigrants passing through. The Krōmebi Vanderehute (Krōmebi Immigration and Customes Building) was built to handle this. It now serves as offices.

Alkiakirkh District

Towerdude: Thanks! What is your hometown?

Heitomat:Thanks. You're actually one of my sources for inspiration, so I guess one could say that you're to blame for this CJ. :yes:

There was a brilliant mod released not too long ago that puts streetside trees along the MAVE-4, so I wanted to exploit that.

Mikeaut1: The NAM can get some beautiful results. There are some places where the Maxis Avenue just works, and some where the MAVE is the way to go. And yes, I've taken your note, this (and the following entries) are JPG.

Coppertown2: Nice to hear that you'd live here! What? Angel of Independence??? Have the Mexicans stolen a symbolic piece of Noki culture??? :P But yes, the area is a popular place to celebrate when the local team wins.

Well now to buisness...

Immediately north of the central city is a district known as Alkiakirkh. It's well known for two things, the cathedral that stands in the centre, as well as the Vuivélinde (Five Ways Circle) minor hub.

Alkiakirkh is one of Noki's main attractions, drawing over 250,000 visitors a year.

Vuivélinde. Running south is Vogeleve, east-west is Kaminave, north is Mankve and north west is Albetaroallē, named for an influential president.

Kaminave and Albetaroallē. To the side is the railway line, which leads to Vuivélindehov (Vuivélinde Station).

Trees act as a sound barrier from the Inner-City Expressway.

Traffic is pretty heavy on the Voguleve overpass, while the expressway traffic is almost non-existant.

The Inner-City Expressway crosses the canal in Alkiakirkh.

Noki's Central city is mainly characterised by a dense apartment-like scape.

High rises and and wall to wall apartments balance in the cityscape. Although it is not clearly seen, these buildings lie on Voguleve (Vogule Street).

The Radekirkh (Red Church) is essentially the centre of Noki. It sits inbetween Ziegeallē (Victory Blvd), a large road running through the centre of the city on a east-west axis.
