About this City Journal

Based on cities and towns from Pokemon's Kanto Region. I'm taking inspiration from both the show and the game, but more on the show because that's where you really see the beauty of each...

Indigo Plateau: Part One

So here it is, my finale entry. This Entry will be divided into two parts. First part shows the Stadiums and everything related to the Pokemon League and the second part is a general tour of the city.

indigoplateau01.jpg

Welcome to the Pokemon League at the Indigo Plateau. Every year, trainers from all over come to this place to fight for the title of being called a Pokemon Master.  This town used to have just one Stadium, but now it expanded and is now home to 30,000 inhabitants and that number quadruples during Pokemon league season which is in June, every year.

indigoplateau02.jpg

The League always begin with the lighting of the Torch. The Fire of this Torch comes from the Legendary Bird, Moltres.

Trainers have to compete in 4 Different Fields before competing in the Indigo Stadium (the last stage). Here's an episode to help you better understand : ) www.youtube.com/watch

Here are the First Four Stages:

indigoplateau03.jpg

The Indigo Stadium -- this is the last stage and in here, the trainers compete againsts THE BEST Trainers in Kanto Region. Bruno, Agatha, Lorelei, and Lance.

The thousands of trainers need a place to stay during the league, so three different trainer villages were built:

indigoplateau08.jpg

indigoplateau09.jpg

 indigoplateau10.jpg

This is the most luxurious among the other trainer villages. One of the buildings is solely for judges, and other staff members during the league.

LAVENDER TOWN

LAVENDER TOWN - with a population less than a thousand, this town is definitely creepy at night, only fitting that the Pokemon Tower is here.

Cinabar Island

 cinabarisland01.jpg

Welcome to Cinabar Island, the "Fire Island." This island is a tourist trap, and if you hate people, Cinabar Island is not for you.  It is famous for it's white sand beaches, turquoise blue waters, and the only Volcano in the region, which to this day is still.. smokey.. But in the last 500 years, it didn't have an eruption.

cinabarisland13.jpg

North Cinabar - hotels, condos, and the island city's first Club Atom can be found here. This is also where all the island's marinas are located.

 cinabarisland14.jpg

West Cinabar - where the long stretch of beaches are. The whole Western Cinabar is the second most expensive area in the region, after downtown Saffron City.

cinabarisland15.jpg

South Cinabar - this is where the offices are, despite having the image of Kanto's holiday getaway, the residents still have to work.

cinabarisland16.jpg

East Cinabar - the gateway of Cinabar Island. This is where the small international airport is located.

 cinabarisland02.jpg

5 Star Hotels. These hotels are booked all year round. One must book a year in advance to secure a room.

 cinabarisland04.jpg

The most expensive condominiums in the region. A one bedroom unit starts at 200 Million Yen (2 Million Dollars)

cinabarisland05.jpg

Sailing anyone? The waters on this side of the island is abundant with Magicarps

cinabarisland06.jpg

The Big Riddle Inn - If you can recall, this was the Inn where Ash, Brock, and Misty stayed in because all the hotels in the island were booked. This hotel is also actually a passageway to Blaine's gym, which is inside the volcano. It was ruined then because of Team Rocket but now, it is restored and stronger than before. Blaine specializes in Fire Pokemon.

Here's an episode to refresh your memory http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuweLa9QlR0  :)

Downtown

vermillion05.jpg

The world famous Vermillion City Gym. It's located on a freestanding structure. The Golden Ball is divided into three levels. First level is the gym, second level is a restaurant with a view of the gym, so every Pokemon trainer who battles here must be confident because there are usually a lot of people watching, and the third level is an observatory. Lt. Surge is the Pokemon Gym Leader of Vermillion and he specializes in Electric Pokemon. People should avoid battling on days with thunderstorms because this tower attracts lightning and it makes his Pokemon a lot stronger.

On the northeast of Pewter City and on the other side of Mount Moon lies Cerulean City.

cerulean07.jpg

The Cerulean City Gym, surrounded by a canal is the main attraction of the city, mainly because of it's Gym Leaders, Daisy, Violet, and Lily. Their sister Misty takes over from time to time when the sisters have a show. Many assume Cerulean is a coastal city because the specialty of the Cerulean Gym are water Pokemon. The gym is also located in the heart of the city dividing Cerulean into North, East, West, and South.
