Novaland, A Town Surrounded by Mountain

Sign in to follow this

Hello, everyone! I'm new to here, so if there's anything wrong, please tell me about that.

This is my first CJ at Simtropolis, and it's about the region I'm currently working on. Not all blocks will be displayed here, since some of them are ill-structured or badly designed. :)

As I come from a non-English speaking country, I may slip now and then in my grammar. Expect some weird expressions...

Any ideas and comments are welcomed(in fact, I need it).

Today I'm going to show you the town Novaland. It is a town surrounded by mountain.

A park in the neighbourhood.

A tiny church in the centre of the town.

A corner of the shopping mall located in the western part of Novaland.

Some neighbourhood shoots, which you may found a little repetitive.

Shown in the bottom right of the following picture is a community college.

And here are a few random shoots around the town.

Finally, it is the overview of the town.

Dayum! That's some mighty fine gridbusting and use of diagonal houses! Another amazing thing is that you've perfectly lined up diagonal housing with FAR roads. While that last picture really showcases the great terrain mod, water mod and tree controller you are using.

The only slight thing which irks me is the Maxis highway which looks a little out of place with the city tile. Other than that a great first entry and...

p.s. That is some pretty sharp MMP work in the first picture and it is a rare occasion where tilt shift really works (usually tilt shift looks terrible on SC4 pictures but here you've made it work).

This region is so incredible awesome:O How you fit the city in this area is so natural, beautiful and kinda realistic, it's just great! 5/5 +1

Amazing work! All pics are great. Like the way your roads are curvy. How are your pics so clear?

And what is 'Tilt Shift'? I know the park is at different angle, how do you do it?

First picture looks like a real life model kit, awesome details! C.p colonial homes look a little bit repetitive, but the area is still diverse thanks to the us of some offices and retail buildings. Very well balanced, good job mate!
