BAUFELD'S GROWTH MARCHES FORWARD
REPLIES DONE IN THE COMMENTS SECTION OF EACH UPDATE.
Last time we were in Baufeld the town's first new housing popped up in over a decade. But the was apparently only the beginning. With all of the neighbouring towns to Baufeld having populations soar, many thought it was only a matter of time before Baufeld were to be swallowed up by sprawl. But, is that really the case? Baufeld's town council voted to take control of development in town. All new development will be created by the town; they layout the roads, decide on property sizes and prices. A developer must purchase each house plot directly from the town, and then is able to build a house on the plot and sell it. This has worked thus far, but for how much longer will it continue to work?
Here we are at the development that sparked demand for housing in Baufeld. Since last time we have seen it, many new homes have been completed, and more are now under construction. Relative to the new developments in Baufeld, this one has moved at about the pace of molasses.
This is part of the first development to be constructed based on the new legislation in Baufeld. Properties have been snatched up quickly, with many homes already completed. A number are also under construction, with other plots in the preparation stages for the future residents of Baufeld. Property values in this development are particularly high for the Windemere suburbs, due to the large lot sizes. Council voted unanimously for large lot sizes to keep the character of the town alive, and not look like just another sprawl town.
Here is another part of the development. It, too, has had properties snatched up quickly by developers and home-owner's alike. Already numerous homes have been constructed.
Full-view of the new development. The development is going to stretch all the way (to the left) towards the Baufeld/Wetachu town line. The road the development comes off of was just recently finally extended to Baufeld, after just ending at the southern tip of Wetachu. A roundabout was chosen to add character to the area. A new pharmacy is currently in the planning stages for an intersection just outside the picture.
And while we were touring around the new neighbourhood, being deemed "NEW BAUFELD" by locals, the old-time residents may be in for some change to their own neighbourhood too; the town has been meeting with Stephen Hendersan to come up with a price for his farmland...
And that is all there if for today! As always, I hope you've enjoyed the update and are looking forward to more!
