Willmott Widget Assembly Remastered
Before voting, we recommend you download and try out this item of content:
This was always one of my favorite Maxis industrials because it looks pretty decent, however its vanilla lots did it no justice at all!
I present to you Willmott Widget Assembly Remastered! WWA has been remade into a stage 3 I-M Anchor lot (instead of an Outbuilding) and had some of its stats tweaked slightly so it is more-or-less on-par with other Maxis I-M Anchors of similar size.
The lot features almost entirely custom-made props by me, which includes a perimeter fence, long-haul trucks, employee and company cars, as well as some inner-city semi trucks. The props have been made to appear more "natural" - people are not always very compelled to park perfectly! I also used a technique to make props that sit in the shadows of the two buildings actually have shadows. Something I've always hated about props in this game is how they are not affected by shadows, so I more-or-less circumvented that issue. Lastly, the props included with this set are 100% compatible with various darker-night mods because they have no lighting effects (normal for props).
This lot also has a fully custom base texture set. Also, before someone comments about it, the lot has so many large-ish empty areas because the long-haul trucks and the inner-city trucks need space to maneuver. American semi trucks are not known for having very good turning radii!
Provides lighting, parking, news-stands, food-carts, benches, and pigeons.

This subject is something I have thought about for a long time. I love all kind of city building games, but SC3000 has always been my favourite. Why is this? Well, other than some childish nostalgia I think map size has a lot to do with it. I have played a decent amount of SC4, but I have always been frustrated about the small map sizes. I know you can build large regions in SC4, but these regions consists of smaller independent maps that are rendered independently. This has always irritated me with SC4, since I never had the feeling that I was building something very large in one picture.
I know the map size in SC3000 isn't very large either, but I do think it is easier to build a metropolis like city in one map in this game.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. If there is something I have missed about SC4s map sizes, I would love to hear. SC4 is such a nice game, the graphics are awesome and way more realistic than SC3000. The community and downloads has always been bigger and better for SC4, so I would love to make a switch to the game, but I never think I will unless one can build large cities in ONE map.
Do you guys know something that I don't?
I have being fighting with these glitches for the last couple days. I haven' loaded anything recently, they just appeared (disappeared) all by themselves. The bad thing is that they are hampering my game something serious.
Also, the little panoramic image of Paris in my signature disappeared too. But I already fixed that.
SimCity 4 is a spreadsheet that will never be balanced, but that’s what makes it so fun, even 14 years after release.
Yesterday, an article about SimCity 4's Network Addon Mod, a comprehensive mod for roads and traffic in SimCity 4, reached the front page of r/Games.”Not only has SimCity 4 survived, it has thrived with new creations offered daily by content-makers, and has even evolved with substantial player-developed modifications like the Network Addon Mod,” author Dirktator wrote. While that’s definitely true, and the thriving mod community for SimCity 4 is a joy to browse through, after playing until two in the morning I can safely say that SimCity 4 also holds up on its own.

[SOLVED] thanks to @rsc204
So, I'm trying to follow along with How to configure SC4 to work with your new hardware by @Mysteryous.
I have two disc versions of the game. One is SC4 + RH and the other is SC4 Deluxe. My game comps are identical with the exception of the video cards. Relevant specs are:
Dell OptiPlex GX270 2.8 ghz CPU 2 Gig Ram 20 Gig EIDE Hard Drive Windoze XP Pro On the one I call my 1st Dell SC4 Game Comp the video card is:
And its config-log.txt:
The relevant part (I believe) being:
applying Not Slow GeForce applying Fast card applying Fast card> option 12 = 1 applying Fast card>> option 1 = 3 applying Fast card>>> option 0 = 3 applying Fast card>>>> option 2 = 3 applying Fast card>>>>> option 4 = 1
Using the same Region in the same City Tile here's what I see when I turn the map:
On the 1st Dell with the 128 mb video card it takes 7 seconds to draw all the trees. I'm assuming that is par for this course considering the antiqueness of the comp and card. However, what has me puzzled is the 2nd Dell has a 256 mb video card and it takes 11 seconds for the same re-draw.
That card is:
So, I tweaked these two files like this:
And here's its config-log.txt
Which shows no Fast anything being applied and the 11 seconds re-draw did not change.
Do I have the code lines wrong or just why is the better card performing slower than the one with half the memory?
Edit: So, I changed the Graphics Rules.sgr line to:
stringMatch cardIdentity "ATI*HD2400*"
And the Video Cards.sgr line to:
card 0x94C4 "VisionTek Radeon HD2400 Pro AGP"
And now I get:
applying Not Slow GeForce applying Fast card applying Fast card> option 12 = 1 applying Fast card>> option 1 = 3 applying Fast card>>> option 0 = 3 applying Fast card>>>> option 2 = 3 applying Fast card>>>>> option 4 = 1 ^ for the VisionTek 256 mb card.
Draw speed is now 9 seconds instead of 11, but still slower than the 128 mb card. I guess that's the best I'll get?
