  • With apologies to the headline writer for the Toronto Sun

    The Prime Minister of Canada with the Minister of Defense, Gen. O'Connor, in tow flew to Kandahar over the weekend to visit the Canadian and other troops stationed on the front line of the War Against Terror.

    Mr. Harper stated that, polls and opinions notwithstanding, the Government of Canada stands behind the mission to Afghanistan and that there will be no parliamentary debate on the current assignment.

    Comment: So much for the armchair generals!

    Glad to see leaders from other countries visiting Afghanistan. Compared to Iraq, I think Afghanistan is much more stable for people to visit... even though it is still bad there. (My cousin was sent to Iraq just 2 months ago...)

    Indeed. If nothing else it'll do him some good by keeping the media's attention away from the David Emerson fiasco for a while.
