Is there a physical limit to the number and size of files uploaded as attachments?

Recommended Posts

Well I think the topic subject kinda askes the question, but I wqas wondering if there was a limit to the total number of files that can be uploaded to SimTrop as attachments, either a numerical total or a size total. Any insight into this would be much appreciated. TYVM in advance

Yes there is, each user can upload and store only a limited number of megabytes to the server. That number isn't firm yet, it may be up to 10 megs or something else. But when you attach a file or image, it goes into your own space and you have a limited amount of space to use.

Ty for the info ... think I'll probably host my own pics/files then as this alleviates me running out of space, and saves SimTrops bandwidth 9.gif

Will there be something to indicate how much space has been used? Like say in the profile?

Would storing images and files offsite be better?

I started using imageshack for the pics, any recommendations for file hosting?

Too many questions?

I ran across this a few months back.  It will help for anyone who needs to have a lot of files and can't save them to the attachments section.

File Lodge

It may not be as convienent as storing files on ST, but it will help stem any storage issues.
