It's not just the GLR. If you have a puzzle piece selected, and pass the mouse cursor over any transit-enabled lot(*), the game will instantly crash to desktop. It's some weird bug with the way network pieces are handled by the game. SC4 has more weird bugs than an exotic insect zoo.

So, if you're going to use puzzle-pieces, you have to be very careful... zoom in close, make sure you know where any transit-enabled lots are, plop the pieces you need carefully, then quickly select some other tool just to be safe.

(*) A transit-enabled lot is any lot that allows you to drag a street, road, rails, etc through it - the Maxis elevated and monorail stations, for example. Many of the freight and passenger rail stations on the STEX are also like this. I think all the GLR stations on the STEX are transit-enabled, which makes it just too easy to crash to desktop when placing GLR rails next to them.

Like mayormot said just try not to make sure that you dont put the mouse over a TE(Transit Enabled) lot when GLR or ANY Puzzle Peice is selected.  Its not really the GLR that makes the game crash it really mouse over TE lots is a big no28.gif
