Hardware Upgrades As our website community software improves with more and more features, and as we bolt on additional features such as chat, the increased load to handle all these new toys is taking the server a bit to task. You may have noticed that we'd been forced to temporarily disable the chat as we worked out allocating resources for more optimal performance. Following this, we've applied a number of 'soft' changes such as caching options and experimented with server configurations (nginx as proxy, for example), so the hardware aspect is also an area we'd like to focus on. The last time we upgraded hardware was back in 2012, prior to the release of SC13. Your contribution means a lot! In the process of moving at the moment but I found time to start a new project.

I'm batting and lotting a series of abandoned trains stops. Trying to convey a sense of decay and abandonment.

Trains will still cross the lots, some are still barely functional and some are just completely left to the inclement of time.

Here is a DTR one, placed in the sleazy part of the map....still functional.

Great look for an economically depressed locality (seedy neighborhood, abandoned industrial park, etc.). I like the graffiti - for some reason you always find it near railroads and it would add a splash of color to a grungy area.

I totally agree with rathefalcon's assessment.

I'd would be great if you were to make little hobo tents and or shacks. (please, please, please), hahaha.........ahem, but seriously.

As added realism you could add graffiti in hobo code, I have limited knowledge of this.

Just ideas for you consideration.

I'm pretty sure there is a typo for your legend there. It's actually supposed to say "SM2 - THE Aqueduct Pipe Legend". :rofl:

Can't wait to finally play around with these bad boys.

Big update, only thing left is search and destroy bugs and a careful polish of the 100's of props used.
I created dozens of new props for this project and they will be released before hand as SM2 Prop Pack Vol2. The timed family pack will be released with this lot. There are over 150 on the pack Timed props are on a 8 hours schedule in order to make the lot more lively.

Of course, the lot texture is completely custom made!

Regarding the triple track layout. I decided that there will be only one that actually will allow trains to pass across the lot the, middle one. The outer tracks have train props on them therefore it will look awful to see trains go through them. However, they will still connect to the rail network visually. Also, the road entrances are TE'd across both connections.

Connection between the outer tracks to the inner one, outside the lot, must be implemented when connecting with the rail network.

      i make A LOT of buildings in SimCity 4 with BAT, and i've been having this problem for quite a while. the buildings are getting 'mixed up' with each other. and it's getting annoying

      The Norfolk and Western Railway (NW) used the HL Class 40 ft, 2 bay "fishbelly" hopper cars to transport coal during the early to mid 20th century. These Late Steam/Transition era cars have the "sloped side sheets" with original road numbers 22000-25999, 38000-39999, and 68500-69499. [1]
      Some HL class were rebuilt into H9 class around 1949, this marked the beginning of the phasing out of the design. By 1960 they were using different cars and different paint schemes, and the Norfolk and Western was running diesel on its mainlines starting in 1959. [2]
      Simply unzip the "CT14 - Norfolk and Western HL Class Hopper Cars.zip" file into your plugins folder.
      Remove the "Norfolk and Western HL Class Hopper Cars" folder from your plugins folder (normally in Plugins/CT14/Norfolk and Western HL Class Hopper Cars". Lots which use these props will be a little bit emptier.
      Prop catalog:
      For SimCity, these cars have been rendered as HD props in a variety of angles and filled with coal in three variations, along with empty car versions.
      Orthogonal (3 load variations plus empty):
      - 90 deg
      Diagonal (3 load variations plus empty):
      - 45 deg
      Curve Fitting Angles (consecutive angles' loads will generally vary, plus empty versions of all):

      Inspired by the lack of existing lots representing protypical North American freight railroad sidings, I've created a system of lots that can be used to create eye-candy rail sidings. They are transit-enabled for appearance. I have been encouraged to share my progress in a dedicated thread by helpful feedback in the Show Us Your Railroads general thread, especially from SimCoug, T-Wrecks, raynev1. And the whole thing wouldn't exist without the Jestarr props.

      Single Track Rail lots don't match exactly when using textures extracted from the RAM .dat, and I probably need permission to use them separately in any case. So, STR sidings may be a separate release at some point. Four-track lots would be prototypical for large yard trackage, but don't exist in RRW. Custom textures might allow some eye-candy four-track lots in future, this would resemble an updated subset of NCD. Dependencies:
