Please help us for July   06/30/2017

This month we're hoping for a little bit of a boost this month or next, in addition to covering the regular bills, we could benefit from some hardware upgrades. STEX Collector's Set gifts can now be sent to you via digital download as well as regular mail if you wish! Every donation dollar goes toward keeping Simtropolis online and humming along. Your contribution counts! Hardware Upgrades As our website community software improves with more and more features, and as we bolt on additional features such as chat, the increased load to handle all these new toys is taking the server a bit to task. You may have noticed that we'd been forced to temporarily disable the chat as we worked out allocating resources for more optimal performance. Following this, we've applied a number of 'soft' changes such as caching options and experimented with server configurations (nginx as proxy, for example), so the hardware aspect is also an area we'd like to focus on. The last time we upgraded hardware was back in 2012, prior to the release of SC13. Your contribution means a lot! Your donation will go toward helping us to 1.) migrate to a newer server or 2.) at least get some ram/cpu/storage updates and any other infrastructure hardware or services. Donate and Get a Gift or Donate Any Amount Thanks so much! - Dirktator & The Admins

2014 Trixie Awards Ceremony

55 posts in this topic

Thanks to all who nominated the ol' Moose.  We try to keep on top of a list of topics, but age and infirmity is starting to slow us down.  Not only that, but there are more Polar Bears on shore for longer and we have to keep out of their way.

Thank you all for your nominations and votes, and congratulations to all the other winners and nominees. Scenic Routes Around the World, though a small city journal, took many hours of work and I am most pleased to be honoured with my second trixie.

First off congratulations to both the winners and to those who were nominated. No doubt there were some very tough choices to make in many of the categories. Hopefully whether you won or not, these awards will inspire us all going forward. Secondly I'm flattered to have been nominated and to have won in a couple of categories. Truth be told, I don't feel entirely comfortable with winning since I wasn't very active on Simtropolis in 2014 until the very end of the year, but I'm still grateful none the less. I'm even more humbled by the words that were spoken about my work... to who ever wrote those words, wow... thank you. Lastly I hope that we all continue to contribute and breath life into this awesome site in our own unique ways going forward. Whether you play SC4, Cities Skylines, both or anything else, never hesitate to share your work and your thoughts with us all.

You're all awesome! All of you! No matter if you are a winner or a nominee, your contribution to our community is always unique and always valuable. Also I want to thank you all for the Stuff Appreciation Award. I believe I did my best in 2014 and I hope I was helpful enough in 2015 as well. And...

Wait a minute. Is this... did I won... a Token of Endurance? And all those words at the description are about me? You know the fight is not over yet, right? But still...

Has anyone else been having this problem today?  I can't get past Norton's Safe Site hardware, even when I turn off the auto protect.  How do I instruct them this is a safe website.  This started out of the blue!!!
Does anyone know how to fix this?  Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I see some strange things in the gallery drawings Simtropolis lately. Some authors places where a large number of drawings. I think - we need a limit of accommodation. I think that for a series of similar drawings, there city journals...
Hi, Simtropolians - What do You think about this?

I'm curious to know Your opinion about the website Simtropolis. Today I started editing one site in my country. And I realized that this is far from the quality that I see on Simtropolis. How do You compare the quality of most of the other sites? Are there any sites built even more conveniently?  Are there any ideals in this world? Thank you.

Thank you Dirk for Your website. You have gathered here for a large community. All new city engineering games are here. This is the perfect solution. I can see and SC4 and SC3000 and Skylines here. It's fine - you made the right choice. Attracting SC3000 and Skylenrs gives a chance to survive SC4. Few of us with SC4... Thank You once more...

      Hello everyone,
As we know, the SC3000.com and SC4ever.com look to be not maintained except for availability. No more features were added to these site. And, some interactive features are disabled due to merging the site with Simtropolis. By this, I'm deciding to start old content migration from these site.
      Intro
The project missions are to provide old contents about SimCity 2000, 3000, and 4 to new users and to preserve old contents. Our vision is want to biggest preservative in the SimCity community. There aren't more info to be discussed here.
      Progress
We are copied contents from SC4ever.com Knowledge Tree (this is very important thing) completely and we'll going to SC3000.com content migration. Support us by reading the "Contribute" section.
      Contribute
Want to contribute? You can PM me with including some data: your name and your interest (are you want to copy all contents or SC3000.com/SC4ever.com). I'll review your profile (new profiles are allowed, but they are must active and has time and commitment to copy the contents). The content copying is allowed by @Dirktator as long as you don't selling the data and with proper attribution (including the source site and the original author).
I hope, you want to join my team and give benefits to all.
      Thank you.
