Phantom Freight Demands

Anyone else have ludicrously high freight demands? I'm talking 12,000 to 14,000 freight orders demanded in cities of around 100,000. I had 3 such cities in the Reflection Atoll map with these populations and freight demands pre-Update 7.0. One city I founded after Update 7.0, with a similar population has a more reasonable freight demand, I think it is around 4,000.

I tested one of these cities to see if something was providing bogus demands by essentially bulldozing the entire city, to a population of 0. The freight demand dropped from 12,000 to 8,000. OK, so that proves to me that a city of this size really only did have 4,000 freight demanded, but where is this phantom 8,000 demand coming from? I let the city run on Cheetah for about 20mins while I putzed around the house and came back...and it is still showing 8,000 freight demanded, in a completely blank city tile.

I am assuming the other 3 cities that are now still showing around 12,000 freight demanded are also padded with a bogus 8,000. I fear I may have to abandon this region, unless anyone knows how I can fix this?

On another note, one of the other cities still shows around 4,000 freight being imported from the blank city tile...again I waited quite some time to let the cities all sync, the blank city showed 0 being produced in the region freight view, yet it was somehow still supplying 4,000 to this other city.

I dont know if this is related but I have problems with frieght entering my cities that far outway the demand...  ie a demand of say 1000 but deliveries of 4000

Has freight become bugged or am I missing something....

I honestly wish that we could just import freight; I hate having industrial areas in every city. I don't mind a few industrial buildings, but the districts the game is requiring are those districts that take about 1/3 of the city. My neighboring cities have fairly adequate industrial districts to support themselves and I, but business continue to spew "Closing. Not Enough Freight.".

Another thing I wish to encourage people to build industrial districts along with building education is being able to sell excess freight from the trade depot. We should be getting something out of the deal for those of us who have freight modules.

You could make a large industrial city, and when it starts to produce excess it will export to the cities that need it, much like commuters and shoppers move around a region. However the industrial city will still need a lot of workers from elsewhere, and the freight trucks will add to the region highway traffic, something that's usually already pushed to the limit.

My cousin plays the game as well so I make sure he provides adequate enough industry for myself and then some but he isn't providing all the freight he could but this could be going back to regional highway traffic. We are building a great works now so tons and tons of vehicles pass thru my city on the daily, and sometime when he attempts to gift me various materials it says something like "Gift Stalled At Border" so I can only assume the same thing is happening to the freight.
