does anyone know if you have a privat region and more then one city....why the time stops in a city when you are working in another one?

Nope! The SimCity only simulates changes in the city you have loaded. You'll have to either swap between the two cities to elapse time or have a friend play one of your two cities for you.

ok thanks for the reply

that's because everything happening at the local city environment is calculated by your computer. hence why the always-online requirement cannot be removed...

maybe ea can look at this:

when in privatmode you can handle a region

online in a region and not just a city....why not?

and if you want to play with friends an open region and only online in the city

They could, but they won't. SimCity is designed to run fairly well on low end machines. If a low end computer was asked to simulate  16 cities at once in a region, it wouldn't be able to handle that amount of processing. In fact the city size is so damn small because Maxis was worried that low end computers couldn't even handle a larger city, let alone multiple cities. So, as much as you would like to simulate time over multiple cities at once, it won't happen unless you run multiple copies of SimCity or if the game gets heavily modded as some point from a 3rd party.
