Help With Grayscale

1 post in this topic

I have had this map for awhile that I have made with Grayscale.  I have the water exactly the way I want it but can not for the life of me come up with mountains that look realistic and to also rough up the terrain a little.  Instead I have just one flat piece with no variety.  I have been looking for a good tutorial on this but nothing I can find helps.  I am not an artist, I am an accountant so my creative juices when it comes to this sucks.  Any help?  I would love to see some mountains in various areas of different heights and some rolling hills but also plains for farmlands.  I have some low level marshlands in a couple of areas I tried to do.  But will work on those once in Sim City with all the various MMP's out there.  I have been away from SC4 for along time but miss it a lot and this has always been my hopes of building this map up.
