Oakland County: Update 50 - gaming anyone?

It’s been a while since I’ve done a journal so here is “Oakland County”. The main town in the county is Newmarket which started its

life as a railroad junction and agricultural center, and remains largely so today. With a population of about 35,000 it is a

small area made up of farmlands and large wood lots, and about 8 towns, Newmarket being the largest.

I haven’t been in the journals for some time, busy at work and trying to decide if I like CitiesXL. I hope some of you will enjoy

the journal as we see how the area deals with the arrival of the new highways and the changes they are sure to bring.

Wow, this is great! You've done a great job with the area; I think it looks really realistic. I really love the shopping centre layout and how it is setback from the road. Look forward to more!

I'm very impressed by this city journal. I really like the realistic road networks and you've done a great job at keeping the area tasteful and realistic. Very nice work!

I'm astounded at how effectively you've used the Maxis Highway. Looks incredible. Very suburban! Will definitely be watching this. Also, are you the person who did the Desert based CJ many, many years ago? Hummmmm.

This is outstanding, I love the realism with the small town, but the growth of the area. Very similar to what has happened to college towns like Harrisonburg, etc., here in Virginia.

You're region is AWESOME! It really looks like I'm looking at this thru Google Earth...it looks that good! I think maybe the only thing I see that could be improved upon is your airports runway (needs more markings for the thresholds and TDZ stripes) and maybe replacing the Maxis BAe 146's w/some of the regional jets found on the stex. Anyways, keep up the great work and I definitely can't wait to see more of Oakland!

Dfnva, I noticed that too, it reminds me of seeing all the sprawl along I95 in Fredericksburg.
