One of my favorite all-time bands, it sucks I never got to see them in concert during their heyday in '76-'78.  Coincidentally, their song from Third Stage, "Amanda," is my wifes and my wedding song.19.gif

Anyways, rocking out to Black Dog from Zeppelin.

Semisonic - Feeling Strangely Fine

I believe you know me well

I react like you're ringing a bell

Are you sorry that you treat me unkind?

Never you mind...

I love that song so much.

Right now I'm listening to Jimi's cover of Like a Rolling Stone (played at the Monterey Pop festival).

Stabbing Westward - Wither Blister Burn & Peel

What do I have to do?

To make you happy

What do I have to do?

To make you understand

What do I have to do?

To make you love me

And if I can't make you love me

Just tell me, what do I have to do?

to forget about you...

Let there be Rock- AD/DC

"There was fifteen million fingers

Learnin' how to play

And you could hear the fingers pickin'

And this is what they had to say

Let there be light, sound, drums, 'n guitar, ah

Let there be rock"

Mother -Pink floyd  this song always felt "uncomfortable"

Mommas gonna make all of your nightmares come true.

Mommas gonna put all of her fears into you.

Mommas gonna keep you right here under her wing.

She wont let you fly, but she might let you sing.

Now its

Take me to the River- Talking heads

I dont know why I love her like I do

All the changes you put me through

Take my money, my cigarettes

I havent seen the worst of it yet

What happened to the original thread for this topic? I was still playing catch-up in there, trying to hear everybody's choices.

Here is a band, that I cannot bring myself to stop listening to-they are just too good!

Woolgather are a progressive rock band from Texas, that actually understands the meaning of 'progressive'.

We are currently getting them airplay on several Texas stations and this band makes that easy:

From their bio:

Woolgather is not your average every-day rock band from Texas. If ever a band with such a mesmerizing sound has taken all that they possibly could, from blood and sweat, time and money, love and loneliness, and poured it into each surreal note played and each emotion tugged, Woolgather is the one...

Casey Tipton - Guitar/Vocals
Eric Stephens - Bass
Rodrigo Lloreda - Keys/Atmosphere
Matthew Eads - Drums

Excerpt from a review @ Exploding In Sound.com

".....Woolgather have an extraordinarily bright future ahead of them. Their sound is unusually developed for a debut record, and should gain a rabid underground following. “Programmes: Vol. I – The Pleasure Principle” is an album that will expand in your mind with repeat listens, and only gets better with greater familiarity. Simply put, Woolgather are a band that truly must be heard to understand. Shadowy and emotional, the next decade of progressive/art rock may very well be a promising experience, with Woolgather triumphantly leading the way."

In other news, I unexpectedly went and got myself 13 new albums yesterday (thanks to eMusic):

Atmosphere - 'When Life Gives You Lemons...'

The Butterfly Effect - 'Imago'

fun. - 'Aim And Ignite'

Days Away - 'Ear Candy For The Headphone Trippers [EP]'

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - 'F#A# Infinity' and 'Lift Your Skinny Fists...'

Iron Maiden - 'Powerslave' ("TWO!  MINUTES!  TO MIIIIIIIDNIGHT!")

Japandroids - 'Post-Nothing'

John Frusciante - 'The Empyrean' (The lead guitarist and back-up singer for Red Hot Chili Peppers)

Mew - 'Frengers'

Porcupine Tree - 'Stupid Dream' (I just got into them this year, and this is already my fifth album by them)

Sigur Ros - 'Agaetis Byrjun'

I've been spending the last day or so listening to them all.  I've already done The Butterfly Effect, fun., Mew, Days Away and Iron Maiden, and now I'm on A Tribe Called Quest.  So currently...:
