Please help us for July   06/30/2017

This month we're hoping for a little bit of a boost this month or next, in addition to covering the regular bills, we could benefit from some hardware upgrades. STEX Collector's Set gifts can now be sent to you via digital download as well as regular mail if you wish! Every donation dollar goes toward keeping Simtropolis online and humming along. Your contribution counts! Hardware Upgrades As our website community software improves with more and more features, and as we bolt on additional features such as chat, the increased load to handle all these new toys is taking the server a bit to task. You may have noticed that we'd been forced to temporarily disable the chat as we worked out allocating resources for more optimal performance. Following this, we've applied a number of 'soft' changes such as caching options and experimented with server configurations (nginx as proxy, for example), so the hardware aspect is also an area we'd like to focus on. The last time we upgraded hardware was back in 2012, prior to the release of SC13. Your contribution means a lot! Your donation will go toward helping us to 1.) migrate to a newer server or 2.) at least get some ram/cpu/storage updates and any other infrastructure hardware or services. Show us your city's detail/close-ups

757 posts in this topic

Okay, not another "Show us" thread. But this is bound to be interesting, because I've seen in the "Show us your accomplishments" thread, that it's mostly wide-shots of your city. And some of the pics are either in region view or far-zooms, so you only get the general overview of the city, and you don't see any close-up detail. I've looked in the forums, and I there isn't a topic on this. Huzzah! Plus, with SC4 being amazingly detailed to begin with (now with the STEX, it's even more detailed), there's bound to be tons of stuff to see in the closest zooms. Huzzah, once again!

Here's some close-up details of my port, in my city called Callisto Coast.

Wow. Look at the detail in those wharves.

NOW IT'S YOUR TURN!

Show us your city's detail/close-ups!

Very nice work. Those docks are nice, other than the sand for water. I like all of the small crates/barrels.

Thanks, guys. And my port probably looks like a lot of the ports in CJ's and stuff, but since I zoom in close to the details, you see things that you probably wouldn't have been able to see. C'mon, people! Post! This thread isn't about me! Give us some examples!

I, also, must know where they came from. I never saw them on the STEX when I searched for it.

I like the pics that are being shown. Great job, everybody!

Lovely pictures guys!

Here's a medium sized city I'm playing at the moment called Sans Souci.

First a random pic of one of the many leafy downtown plazas, showing (from left-to-right) a corner clothiers, the hotel titanic and Her Majesty's theatre:

SansSouci-Aug.jpg

Near the CBD and The Cathederal, are many large terrace houses:

Next a row of low rise terraces on more quiet roads near the outer fringe of the CBD:

Before we hit the quarter acre blocks and parks of middle class suburbia:

Mattb, where did you get those houses in the last pic? They look great.

Edit: I just discovered that you made the houses! Do you plan on releasing them anytime soon? 1.gif
