    • Dude, "Custom animals are still in experimental phase, but can be used via scripting."!!!
Now who's willing to create a giant animated T-Rex to stomp around on our cities. Actually, could such a custom critter be combined with the disaster (tornado) damage logic, so it destroys everything in its path?
    • Anyone regardless of join date, post count or reputation points has a place here at Simtropolis. A new member is equally welcome as someone who's been around since the site was founded, way back in early 2003. Absolutely, your mere presence on the forums is an act of contribution in its own right. There's a principle that applies to online communities known as the 1% rule. This states that for people who register on a website, less than 10% ever take part at all, and even fewer actually create content. The overwhelming majority just look around, maybe downloading files, but never posting anything whatsoever. If anyone, the lurkers are the ones who could in theory be classed 'passive'. So for those reading this who hasn't yet posted, come and join us!
Checking the post data here at ST for all registered users: 92.7%  have never posted. 7.3% have made one or more post.

      Also:
So absolutely, rest assured that in the 2 months since you've joined the community, you already are very much contributing to Simtropolis. In terms of bigger projects, they always take time to grow & develop. Please don't be dismayed if your ideas haven't yet received overwhelming positive responses. It doesn't mean they're bad ideas. Perhaps it's first worth starting out small, gaining a bit of momentum, and then progressing onto more ambitious ventures. Really it's like anything -- first create solid foundations, then slowly build onwards and upwards to achieve the end goal. What's really great to see is you have a strong passion and enthusiasm to contribute. Because without this, it creates arguably the biggest obstacle to progression. Without any ideas at all, without the drive to achieve them, there is no chance for development of any kind. Keep up the good work.
