About This File

I couldn't find any Lebanon Cedar or similar type tree in mods so I made my own. It replicates a common true old world cedar tree found in cities all over the world especially in Mediterranean and semi arid regions worldwide. I attached a few photos of the tree found in the real world to give you an idea what they look like and where they belong. I have commonly seen them here in Arizona in middle elevations in places like Prescott, Bisbee and Sierra Vista. Some are even found in higher colder mountain elevations like Flagstaff where I live. This tree is typically suited for a drier type climate and usually isn't found in humid places or wet places. The tree files are resourced from BSC Mega Props Vol02.  Simply drag to your plugins folder in your sim city folder contained in your PC's documents folder. Credit goes to BSC for yet another great model set.

      Thanks xannepan!
      This one is a MMP set based on Xannepan's trees for the Quais de Seine waterfront set. It has 24 different trees and 3 different fallen leaves, organized on 4 groups available on the mayor mode flora menu.
      The groups are divided by season (autumn, winter and summer/spring), but the MMPs aren't seasonal, so they don't change according to the game date.
      Dependencies:
      JENXPARIS Quais de Seine (revisited)

      Enjoy it!

      A Painter's Patch

      This will help the landscape painters among us - once installed you will be able to brush any flora MMPs right up to the shore and into the water of lakes, ponds, streams and rivers using ploppable water coming from SimPeg... You can camouflage any fixed shoreline or just create your own shores completely, no more plain straights and empty curves... ;-)

      Aside from tweaking the shore lines you can 'paint' MMPs inside the water without using any extenders or other workarounds.

      This patch will work for

      * PEG Ponds

      * PEG Streams

      * PEG PPonds (Tahoe, including PEG Culverts and PEG Fords)

      * PPond Canal Kit (inc. Docks, Locks and Bridges)

      * SPAM Irrigation Canals (SPIC)

      DEPENDENCIES

      ~ none ~

      Though the patches make only sense if you use any of the listed packages ;o)

      DEVELOPER NOTES

      After unpacking you'll find a folder 'zzz_Free_Waters' - it doesn't really need to be the very last thing to load, but make sure it loads after all ponds, streams and pponds...

      For a bonus the folder contains new larger water tiles as well - for the Ponds an additional 4x4 piece, for the Tahoe additional 2x2 and 4x4 pieces. They are in the 'Parks' menue along with the other water tiles.

      Note: The installed patch will NOT take effect on already plopped landscapes. You need to either re-plop existing ponds and streams or just save it all for your new developments ;o)

      And a word of caution - take it easy, brush by brush... else, before you know it, there is no more water to be seen!

      Do ALL trees -Maxis and 3rd. parties- really influence pollution ?
      I started a new city for this purpose. So I built an electricity factory in one corner, some distance away laid several industry zones, some more distance away i put some commercial zones, and still further away and build the residential zones. There a tile free from the zones and the road along one and/or two sides of the zones.
      Then I peppered those empty zones everywhere with ALL kind of trees. Then I ran SC4 and let it run for almost three years. Then I checked the pollutions levels and I didn't notice much change. Ergo, my first line.

      KrashSpeed’s Mailbox Set

      First I would like to give credit where it’s due.

      I made the props, contributed a few ideas and a few suggestions.

      SimCoug deserves most of the credit. This mod was his idea; he made the prop families, mmp’s, icons, and the read me.

      ======================================================================================

      DESCRIPTION:
      Could you go 10 years without receiving a single piece of mail? Well, your Sims have - but that is about to change!
      This is an all encompassing set of mail props that will cover your Sims postal needs from drop-off to delivery.

      WHAT'S INCLUDED?
      Props:
      -10 different single mailbox props for each wealth level ($, $$, $$$ - 30 total models)
      -14 different mailbox cluster props (seen in housing developments, etc)
      -10 different mailbox unit props (often used in apartment complexes, etc)
      -9 different post box props from 8 different countries (where you Sims can drop off outgoing mail)

      MMPs:
      -Mailbox$_MMP allows you to plop 10 low wealth mailboxes
      -Mailbox$$_MMP allows you to plop 10 medium wealth mailboxes
      -Mailbox$$$_MMP allows you to plop 10 high wealth mailboxes
      -MailboxCluster_MMP allows you to plop 14 different mailbox clusters
      -MailboxUnits_MMP allows you to plop 10 different mailbox units
      -PostBoxes_All_MMP allows you to plop each of the different countries post boxes
      -PostBoxes_(different country name)_MMP allows you to plop the post box of the country of your choice (multiple clicks changes the orientation)

      Prop Families:
      For those who use the Lot Editor, appropriate prop families have been created with these props in order to allow you to get more variety when creating lots.

      DEPENDENCIES:
      None! But this should be considered a dependency pack for future lots that include these props.

      INSTALLATION:
      Simply unzip the file and put place the folder in your plugins.
      The 'Model' folder should remain in your plugin folder, but you can pick and choose which MMP files to include depending on you preference.

      DEVELOPER NOTES:

      SUPPORT:
      For questions regarding this set, please feel free to visit Krashspeed's Test Area.

      SPECIAL THANKS:
      Thanks to the gang over at SimPeg for all their suggestions and encouragement.

      So I recently reset my PC, which uninstalled all my programs, but kept all my saves and plugins. I've finally reinstalled SC4, and successfully got it booted up, but now all the maxis props are missing from lots! I tried removing all my plugins, all my saves, running it with and without administrator permissions, running it with and without compatibility mode, reinstalling, etc. But the Maxis props in lots are still missing! Any advice?

    • I haven't compared this to the real-life version, so I cannot comment on how faitffully you recreated it, but since I have no particular connection to that building anyway, this aspect doesn't matter to me personally. What matters more to me is that this looks like a great BAT of a tower that is both rather generic and can pop up two or three times in a big city's skyline without standing out too obviously (provided you have enough other skyscrapers, with some iconic buildings to draw most of the attention) and also pretty interesting once you zoom in and take a closer look. That base makes it more than just your average black/brown/beige/grey box with window strips. As such, it can also look great when placed in a mid-rise environment. Thank you very, very much for keeping the lot editable, too! This offers great opportunities for adaptation to different playing styles and preferences. A day with a Diego Del Llano upload is always a good day in STEX terms.
    • Boom! Another great HT here! Hope Mr Tsvirkunov will open a new factory soon in my cities! Thanks for sharing your stuff!
    • Nice idea. Should anyone have preferences or favourite buildings they recall, it would certainly help narrow down the total. Especially with the filter list on the Wayback, the accompanying preview images are there at least to give some visual indication for anyone searching. If there really are 10,000 buildings, I suppose it's not even worth uploading 10% of them given the likely inconsistencies with quality.
    • It may be worth setting up some kind of "I would like ..." topic .... people can go thru the old exchange and point out to Cori the ones that should be retrieved ... it should end up a more manageable list
    • That could be arranged. But since these are legacy files, I don't think it matters too much either way since credit would be given. If Cori would like to continue uploading these (as intended following Dirk's approval), it may be nice for her to receive the occasional Rep as a by-product reward for retrieving, packaging and uploading them here. With hundreds if not thousands of them, it'd require a mammoth effort after all. (Should the quality of content resemble anything to the old SC4 EA exchange, I'm guessing it's not worth restoring all of them.)
