Cheat: Garbage (Single Player Only) 1.0

About This File

The garbage cheat is comprehensive and requires both the base game and EP1 (Cities of Tomorrow). You may experience issues if you have also installed other mods that affect any aspect of garbage, including the garbage trucks, atomizer and incinerator. All of the cheats reduce resource requirements while greatly increasing desired output. Usable only in single player mode.

The package file modifies the following instances, and for that reason, may prove incompatible with other mods that do the same:

Modified instances: (see screenshot for SimCityPak).

Garbage Dump

Garbage Atomizer

Garbage Truck Garage

Garbage Incinerator

Garbage Truck

Dump Zone

What this mod does:

  • Number of workers required to start operating set to 1.
  • Jobs tweaked slightly upward in some cases.
  • No plop or maintenance cost.
  • Power and water requirements for all parts of the garbage dump greatly reduced.
  • Garbage capacity increased to approximately 6,000 tons (5.9k) per garbage dump zone (lists as 600).
  • Atomizer controlnet requirement reduced to 1 with a capacity of 900 tons per hour.
  • Incinerator capacity increased to 900 tons per hour.   Air pollution still lists as high but actually isn't.
  • Dump truck capacity increased to 50 tons.

Unaffected:

  • Garbage dump roads

To use:

Place all files in SimCity\SimCityUserData\Packages.  If you already have the script files, you don't need to put them in there again, just the included package file.

If you start a new region, what I find I must do is start the region, save it, quit the game, and then re-start for any mods to work the first time, even other people's mods that I've downloaded here.

If you use this file, delete and replop any existing garbage dumps. Same holds true if you remove the file.

Excellent. Do something for water. Increase the sewage so that infinite water will work :). 5 out of 5.

Sweet, hopefully this will help with the drone garbage problem.

Oh speaking of drones, perhaps you can make a cheat mod that decreases the amount of garbage drones produce?

@kajb139 - Did you first destroy any existing dumps or just install the mod?  I've two huge cities and they've barely touched the capacity of the dumps after several days.  Destroy and replop them.

Hi there !!! Is there any file missing?  The only thing that it works with i the Garbage Atomizer.  The rest, doesn´t happen anything.  I have no other similar modes installed and I did exactly what you say to do: "

If you start a new region, what I find I must do is start the region, save it, quit the game, and then re-start for any mods to work the first time, even other people's mods that I've downloaded here.

If you use this file, delete and replop any existing garbage dumps. Same holds true if you remove the file."

Also I erased the game completely and reinstalled only with your mod and nothing happens

Please, HELP !!!!

Thanks

@Sotomayor Prat -- not sure what the issue would be.  Where are you placing the file?  I have mine installed at:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\SimCity\SimCityUserData\Packages

thats confirmed its happened several times now sadly. they seem to burn at a max rate of about 0.7/hr for the atomizers

also would be awesome if there was a way to increase the overall capacity of the recycling centers. as far as how quick they process and actually split stuff up as well. several times my cities are overwhelming the recycling plants

This month we're hoping for a little bit of a boost this month or next, in addition to covering the regular bills, we could benefit from some hardware upgrades. STEX Collector's Set gifts can now be sent to you via digital download as well as regular mail if you wish! Every donation dollar goes toward keeping Simtropolis online and humming along. Your contribution counts! Hardware Upgrades As our website community software improves with more and more features, and as we bolt on additional features such as chat, the increased load to handle all these new toys is taking the server a bit to task. You may have noticed that we'd been forced to temporarily disable the chat as we worked out allocating resources for more optimal performance. Following this, we've applied a number of 'soft' changes such as caching options and experimented with server configurations (nginx as proxy, for example), so the hardware aspect is also an area we'd like to focus on. The last time we upgraded hardware was back in 2012, prior to the release of SC13. Your contribution means a lot! Your donation will go toward helping us to 1.) migrate to a newer server or 2.) at least get some ram/cpu/storage updates and any other infrastructure hardware or services. Donate and Get a Gift or Donate Any Amount Thanks so much! - Dirktator & The Admins

I accidentally named a city the same name as a city that is already in the region, and I already built on all the land (small city), so I tried the WhereRUFrom cheat but it is not working properly

I tried renaming 'Zekrom Black' to 'Van Buren' but when I type into the cheat window, WhereRUFrom Van Buren, it names the city "Van" not "Van Buren" The city name is incomplete.

      How do I fix this?

I'm attempting to build a city in which car usage is minimized. To that end, I've added a small industrial area in which contains no roads of any kind, only railroads and pedestrian malls. It has grown nicely, and people are getting to work by taking the tram to their nearest train station and hopping on the train to the industrial area. On the surface, it looks like everything is running nicely:

But let's take a look at where all the freight is going:

It looks like all of the factories are sending their goods along the train to the connection with the neighbouring city instead of sending it to the port. I'll note that the neighbouring connection is quite a ways off screen and that even the furthest factory from the seaport is still significantly closer to the port than it is to the next city. As a result, every one of my factories that sends freight has "long" freight times.

As you can see, the seaport has a railway connection, and it is connected to the rail system. It also has a "road" connection via pedway to the train station, so it has workers too.

Can anyone explain to me why nobody ships their freight through this port? It is a CDK3 Container Seaport which accepts rail connections, but its used capacity is 0.

The second issue is that this industrial area is fairly hilly. It's actually relatively flat compared to the surrounding areas, and I spent quite a bit of time smoothing the bumps and making the grade from the coast up to the hill that acts as a buffer between this area and my R/C neighbourhoods as gentle as possible:

However, if you zoom in on some of these diagonal train stations, you can see they look absolutely terrible when put on a slope. Not only that, but many of the pedestrian malls are half-buried under grass, giving the whole area a weird, janky look:

I tried using a slope mod to ensure my rails were built using realistic grades, but even with the least restrictive mod I could find, the area was still too hilly for me to lay down these tracks. Are there pedestrian tiles and diagonal railway stations that play more nicely with slopes, or do have to bite the bullet and flatten everything, leaving weird-looking, extra steep slopes at the edges of the area? And if I do that, what do I do with the train tracks at those steep edges?

My last question doesn't really require any screenshots. Put simply, industry generates garbage. With no roads, the only way for me to remove this garbage is via rail. Do any mods exist that allow this?

May NOT be a flaw. The standard use of n-coordinates is that the y--coordinate is used for East-West or vice-versa. The x--coordinate is for the North-South or vice-versa. These are in the same flat plane. The z--coordinate is used for heights. Values can be positive or negative. But I don't know if these conventions are hard wired, or if they can be interactive.
To get back to this topic, I noticed that the TerrainQuery  cheat is using the z--coordinate as the x--coordinate. The little pic explains it better:
      (from Wikipedia)
This little glitch baffled me for a good while until I checked the cheat's values with a gray map height levels. They correspond rightly.
EDIT: I wrote "cheat is using the z--coordinate as the x--coordinate". It should be "cheat is using the z--coordinate as the y--coordinate" as @CorinaMarie rightly pointed this out in a post below.

It's about time there was some utility love in this forum. If you have a power facility, water facility or garbage facility then this is the topic to post it in!
I shall start with a small recycling centre in the middle of some rural suburbs.

Another one would be the hydroelectric dam I created in Faverdale.

I tried using the extra cheat "DrawPaths" to see if my FLUPs are connected. Not only is there no path illuminated under my RR, but the avenue ramps are dark as well.  T_T
Does anyone know enough about both the drawpaths cheat and FLUPs to know if the gap in illumination is a gap in paths or simply a gap between mods?

    • Thanks, T Wrecks...rewards are such a giant pain to make! So I usually try and put something daft in to try and compensate...this is my nod to the g20 . As far as I know, the OG doesn't do anything, but there is an ATR file in sim city1. dat  (I think it's 0x49a59e37 - 0x01601900), but it might have been deemed a bit too graphic, or it could just have been like the other dozen or so atr files that aren't used in anything....   Oh, and btw, citybuilder234, the building looks like whatever I tell you it looks like.....
    • It doesn't even look like a convention center. Looks like a building at a community college or a state university.
    • Wow, what a fantastic building! I like the intricate shapes of this one, and the many different areas. There are so many details to take in that it really takes a while to grasp the entire structure. I also agree that there's not much going in in terms of conference centres, so this really fills a gap. Kudos for all the reward modding too - I know that part is pretty tedious und ungratifying work (unless you're some sick masochist ). What I also like is how well the lot complements the building, and it acomplishes that with so few and so simple means. Just a few default overlays and props, and we have a lot that leaves nothing to be desired. The one tiny suggestion I have is that all your recent buildings have had their names (and, in cases like this one, also their function) baked into the model. This is not bad generally because it allows a better visual appearance, but sometimes it limits flexibility a bit. The building in question could totally double as a modern city college, for example, or maybe even as a university (not all modern universities are sitting on a lush campus, after all!), but then there's the "Convention Center" lettering in front. I guess it can be covered with cleverly placed flora props... Fun fact: I never knew that there was an Occupant Group "burning dude maker" - what the...???
    • Do we need to delete Oppie's and replace yours?   Ps. Thank you so much for revamping this amazing mod.
