Arts Centre Melbourne, Australia

The Arts Centre Melbourne is a performing arts centre consisting of a complex of theatres and concert halls in the Melbourne Arts Precinct, located in the central Melbourne suburb of Southbank. It was designed by architect Sir Roy Grounds.

The Spire
The new spire was completed in 1996, and reaches 162 metres. The spire is illuminated with some 6,600 metres (21,653 feet) of optic fibre tubing, 150 metres (492 feet) of neon tubing on the mast and 14,000 incandescent lamps on the spire's skirt.

Hamer Hall
Hamer Hall is a 2,661 seat concert hall – the largest venue in the Arts Centre complex, used for orchestra and contemporary music performances. It was opened in 1982 and was later renamed Hamer Hall in honour of Sir Rupert Hamer (the 39th Premier of Victoria) shortly after his death in 2004

This is my 11th BAT.

The Arts Centre Spire & Hamer Hall occupies a tile space of 16x6. It is an Opera House, and costs §68,000 to build with a monthly cost §330. Opera Houses provide an educational boost to older Sims.

Also included in the download are:
1) Separate Hamer Hall filler-lot. Hamer Hall is also an opera house, but has no associated costs, all costs are attached to the main lot. This is optional, place drectly under the Hamer Hall prop. If you don't want it, just delete the folder "Hamer Hall".
2) A small power generator. For some reason the BAT doesn't light easily with the standard city electrical grid. To get it to light up it may need its own generator, placed directly next to the Spire/Hamer Hall lot (hide it under the prop). Its small so will not be noticeable in-game. It outputs 6000 power but does not cost anything extra. If you find you don't need it, just delete the folder: "Power Generator".
3) Separate Optional Download: City Road Underpass (tunnel entrance). Only included for anyone that wants to build a road tunnel under the Arts Cente Complex, as in real life. In-game, there are no costs and its not lit.

The Arts Centre Melbourne comes in four colours (Blue, Red, Green & Purple), all four colours are available in Darknite and Maxis night versions.
 

Important: only download and install one choice of colour.

Once I work out how, I plan to release a multi-colour changing version as well.

There are no Prop dependencies, although the Dark Nite version requires SimFox_Day_n_Nite_Modd.

Instructions:
Download ONLY one choice of colour in the xx_DN zip file for Darknite version, or xx_MN for Maxis night versions (not both)

      Zip contains greyscale, SC4M and config file. All large cities.. Lots of them.

      Welcome to Hobart, a city of about 200k (in real life) on Tasmania Island, Australia. The River Derwent cuts through the center of the map leaving plenty of building space on either side and lots of opportunities for bridges and tunnels. 
      This map should prove fairly easy to build on, with flat, fertile expanses leading to riverside beach heads, some gentle and some not-so-gentle slopes leading into the mountains rich with ore. Add to that a few spots for oil production and 145,000 trees for forestry, and you'll have industry opportunities galore. Of course, all transport types are connected. 
      I experimented with terrain textures again, and if you like the textures and colors in the map above, here's what you'll need:

      Let's play on this map of Australia!  Not as big as the real country, but still a fun replica for Cities Skylines.
      There is fertile land, oil and some ore placed around the map. I think it's fun to try making smaller cities around the map, but choose the way you want to play it.
      To be able to play the whole map, you need to have the All Slots unlocked mod .
      Hope everyone likes the map!

      Hi All,
       
      Long time lurker, first time poster.  I've been playing SC4 for a decade and I've recently had a problem with the Opera House.  If I try to bulldoze it, the game crashes.  It's really annoying as I have been "renovating" my cities.  I can't obliterate, I can't demolish, nothing.  If I even think of touching the Opera House, the game crashes.  
       
      Any ideas?

      Australian Speed Limit Signs - Right Hand Drive
      These are speed limit signs that are typically found in Australia. They're a white sign, with a red circle on it containing the speed limit in kilometres per hour. In this sign pack I have included:
      40km/h 50km/h Ahead 50km/h 60km/h Ahead 60km/h 70km/h Ahead 70km/h 80km/h 90km/h 100km/h 110km/h 130km/h The speed limit ahead signs are based off those formerly found in New South Wales.
       
      Installation Instructions
      Unzip the file and place the unzipped files inside your SimCity 4 Plugins folder.
       
      You will find these signs in your Parks menu.
       
      This lot has no dependencies.

    • I followed the steps that came up but in the end there was an error message, "The system cannot find the file specified"
    • In nature, the complex of dance begins with single cells, tropisms, although independently motivated according to the nucleus responding to gravity, tides and light, but gradually all evolution can be seen as a dance of chemicals and forms.  The more complex the dance, the more complex the life-form.   When I watch male and female figure skaters I am stunned by the extreme complexity of coordination of physical, sensory, cognitive and pure ability of flight that my species is capable of.    Dare I say, I am honored to be human.   All our technology and art are just toys compared to the actual material ability of ourselves as conscious physical beings.  As well, in the sciences, male and female have unique cognitive and perceptual abilities that are complimentary and mutually facilitative.  There's no limit to what can be achieved by human beings who know how to dance.
    • The water texture is designed to show dynamic flow, a churning of the water as if an industrial process is taking place.   Its supposed to be clean fresh water, so it would appear more saturated blue with whitecaps.  The texture and saturation also helps to distinguish it as clearly water and matches the tone and texture of the surrounding buildings.   In my texture pack I designed 4 different water textures for different applications of light. Go ahead and feel free to suggest another one, or one you can imagine that might fit better.  Thanks for the feedback.
