About This File

Hello everyone,

Over time I have received several requests to release some of the lots I created for use in my City Journal. I have been hesitant to do this because I did not have the time to mod the lots so that they are appropriate for release. Now that I have some time, I have decided to release some of the lots I use. These two lots are intended as parks for an urban area or a Japanese-style city. I originally created these lots for the city of Tokukai.

Future releases will depend on how much of the files I used for Insulo can be recovered from my old computer.

Note: These lots may look better with a grey concrete sidewalk mod, but that is not required.

If you downloaded this file before 3:40 EDT November 20th there is a new version that corrects the menu icon glitch.
Simply delete the files from your plugins and replace them with the new ones. I apologize for the inconvenience.
The updated package also includes a readme file.

Disclaimer
These are released personal lots, and thus may have errors. Please report any errors you find in the comments section and I will try to address them. However, I am not responsible for any harm resulting from the use of this file. Because it was originally created as a personal lot I made no attempt to minimize the number of dependencies, and will not be reducing them. I think all of the dependencies I've chosen are good to have and several are very widely used.

Urban Features
Construct and present an urban complex area
Season 3 - Challenge #02 - Extended (14 days)
Thanks to @philforhockey51 for the challenge idea.

All cities have urban features which provide services, entertainment and make them unique. Large, small, high, or below -- there are various types which can vary in size and appearance, but each have their own vital function. This may be a collection of buildings, like in a retail park, or group of apartments / offices. Or even a large purpose-built complex like a university campus, or a sports stadium with parking facilities.
For this challenge, we're looking for you to construct one of these areas, and present it in an image. Your image can show the whole area, or just focus on a specific part. There are lots of possibilities here, so it's really up to you what you choose to build. It just must contain a group of urban structures, which are related in some way. For example, any combination of buildings or urban development, that make up the feature.
See the Possible Ideas section below for a few examples.

This is an  Extended  challenge running for 14 days.

Submission Requirements
Your image must be taken showing multiple urban structure with a shared purpose.
You may use any city-building game -- including SimCity 4, Cities: Skylines, SimCity (2013), and CitiesXL / XXL.
Please submit only one image for this challenge.
For the purpose of voting, please check your image has a full title & description.
To qualify for entry, please ensure your image is uploaded to the submissions category, and complies with these requirements.
Possible Ideas
Here are a few ideas to get you started, just giving examples of ways to go about this challenge:
Note: The following is not a complete list, or a requirement:
Residential estate (houses, apartments or skyscrapers) Commercial outlet (shops, offices or businesses) Industrial park (factories, production or storage) Construction zones Government owned complex Emergency services Hospital / healthcare services Power station Water treatment complex Waste disposal / landfill / recycling University / college campus Recreation park Stadium Race track Transportation services (air, road, rail or sea) Car park
Entering an Image

These will be approved by a Challenges Team member and then added to the following gallery album before voting opens:

New Leaderboard System
As mentioned in the announcement topic, this season will be using a brand new leaderboard system.
Each challenge will award points to all participants, based on your placing. The higher the position you come, the more points you'll receive. It also gives an extra incentive to take part, even if you don't reach the podium. Then at the end of the season, prizes will be awarded based on your overall standing.
Full details will be posted shortly in a new topic.

Voting
Voting will start on the 4th of July, an announcement will be made when that is available. Votes will be cast by rating images inside the album. You may rate any image you wish at any rating you wish. Try to rate as many as you can as this will help the album ordering.
The winners will be the top 3 rated images after an 8 day voting period. Reputation prizes will be awarded based on the number of entries, and the overall average rating. See this topic for more details.

Good luck everyone!

• Paeng's Castle Walk
By paeng
The old castle has finally been renovated and serves now as a museum to boost the education or as a plain landmark to boost the Mayour's ego... ahm... rating. It comes together with a highly variable set of items to build park pathways and small pocket parks, or for walkways between wealthy residential compounds - all very attractive with lots of flowers and decor appealing to residents and tourists like.

LIST OF ITEMS
5x3 Small Castle (Museum and Landmark versions) 2x2 Chess Plaza 1x1 Wide Paths (straight, curve, tee, cross) 1x1 Narrow Paths (straight, curve, tee, cross, transition) 1x1 Wide Paths with Lattice Wall (straight) 1x1 Ends and Fillers (variety) See the Castle Walk 'in action' in my CJ

DEPENDENCIES
BSC MEGA Props - MJB Vol01 Paeng Textures Vol104 Murimk Props Vol02 BSC MEGA Props SG Vol 01 PORKIE PROPS VOL1 CastleSet.dat (only for LM / Museum)
DEVELOPER NOTES
You can use this set to build park pathways and small pocket parks, or for walkways between residential compounds, e.g. open spaces between mid- or highrise buildings.

The sections with higher lattice fences provide more privacy, e.g. along RES$$$.

Try and alternate sections with and without lamps for better variation.

Some items provide landmark benefits, but mostly they are neutral and easy to maintain. Find more specs and stats in the in-game menu.

All items are at or near the end of the 'Landmarks' menu, except the Museum which is of course in the 'Civics | Education' menu, all with custom icons.

INSTALLATION
Just drop the whole bundle in your Plugins. You may also opt to install only certain items - remove the ones you do not wish to use. To un-install remove the complete folder from your Plugins.
