Englewood Condominiums, by Mattb325.

Step back in time to the 80's. :bunny:

Set amongst pine woods, this euro-luxe, multi-level apartment complex is missing only the Pontiac trans-am parked in the front. o.O
With its massive expanse of shingled roof, it will suit northern European styled cities as well as those wishing to create North-Western and upper mid-western styled US towns.

Additionally, Englewood Condos are an ideal small apartment complex to assist in transitioning from the low density suburban sprawl of single family homes to the higher density apartments of your downtown.

Each building has 10 townhouse style apartments/condos; each unit has a complex, split-level floor plan spanning multiple floors and each unit enjoys a private, sun-soaked terrace at the top of the apartment.

Wood fires in some of the larger apartments are great for sipping brandy from oversized balloons on a wool-skin rug while watching episodes of M.A.S.H. on your new CRT deluxe PYE 22" color TV Set with teletext capability :O

Perfect for R$$ Sims, Englewood Condominiums are presented on a 2x3 and 4x3 lot.

This will grow on medium and high density zones at stage 5. Use the control key while zoning to assist growth.

Hi everyone, so I'm a new poster to Simtropolis (have been lurking and playing SC4 for quite a long time).  I'm hoping to add more visual diversity to my cities in SC4 while still having them grow naturally, so I was hoping to get some more residential structures-I'm tired of seeing the same 4 types of houses and apartments everywhere.  I was hoping that maybe someone could make some lots representing real life examples of housing in Midwestern cities like my home St Louis, Chicago, Cincinnati, etc?  All three cities, and all the cities of the Midwest, have too many unique examples to try and model, but here are 3 basic blueprints that i was hoping could be translated to SC4:
St. Louis townhomes:

Chicago courtyard apartments:

Cleveland single:

If someone could make lots out of these that fit the standard Maxis scale, that would be amazing!  Thank you!

Hello all!

Thanks to Dirk and the folks at Paradox, Simtropolis has gained an early access into the gameplay of Cities: Skylines.

For me, Cities: Skylines is the first city-building I've played since SC4, so this will be a completely new learning experience, and one I'm really looking forward to.

This thread will be a picture-based walkthrough version of a "let's play" series. Along the way, I'll do my best to describe what I'm doing at each step, and showcase the gameplay as I experiment city building. Also, please feel free to ask questions or anything specific you'd like me to show, try or explain.

So without further ado...

I'm pretty new here but Ive been using SC4Tool, LotEditor and SC4PIM for a few months now so I have a basic understanding of them.
But my question is this: How can I easily turn a Landmark into a growable?

So far the only method I found by myself is to edit the .SC4Desc file in SC4Tool and remove some properties out of it, then open it once more in SC4PIM and let it 'recompute properties' on the file so it adds other properties needed for a growable.
Great, thats pretty simple and quick for the .SC4Desc file, no issues there.

HOWEVER, when it comes to the .SC4Lot file I encounter issues, mainly because SC4Tool is not showing the 'WealthTypes' and 'PurposeTypes' properties which are needed for any growable lot, and other times it does show them but they are empty and I can't edit them.
Then I open this .SC4Lot file with SC4PIM and I try to let it 'recompute stage', but this never works out because I always get an error about something 'missing' and it simply doesn't work.
So unlike the .SC4Desc, then .SC4Lot cannot be edited with either SC4Tool or SC4PIM to turn it easily and quickly into a growable lot, which leaves me with one last choice ->
Creating a completely new growable lot in SC4PIM and re-doing the entire lot manually by placing the new building and adding all new props myself, this is VERY time consuming and can take 30minutes to one hour just to make a realistic lot from scratch.

So can someone please help me out here, is there an easier way to turn a landmark Lot into a Grownable Lot without creating a new lot from scratch?
There are so many fine buildings to be found on this website, but the sheer amount of landmarks that I have to create new Lots for just to turn them into growable is going to take me forever through this method

Thanks.

ps: yes I did a search first to find more about this topic, but the only thing I found was a post from 2005 but it seemed very outdated and not all that helpful.

The lot is called Sues Sunflowers.
This is a growable farm.
Most of the props on this lot are mine.
Thanks go to Couch Potato and Shmails for the props used on this lot as well as the BSC team for textures and props

i was able to find all dependency's except 2 BZBURNS which is no longer available and a missing texture that I can not locate.

ok i think thats everything. The only thing I will have to do is replace the missing texture and remove the horse prop as it can not be found..
Look for Version 2 soon with the repairs mentioned.

Support Thread for any problems and or questions
last link. you will need this file for this lot and all future lots.

Mike and his crew bought this large piece of land.
5x7 lot size
Stage 1
jobs 6
night lighting yes
growable yes
all dependency's are included in zip file. no need to search the STEX for them. This lot was the most problematic lot of mine and therefore as a special treat I included all files needed..
this Farm does not have a special UI file. Sorry folks.
File Dependency that were made by myself or JohnB have been included in this file. we were a team him and I. Reason being that this lot had to be compleatly redone as a major problem with the original lot that could not be repaired nor could the missing prop be found.
A special thanks to Johnb for the props that have been included with this lot.
and to Flyhigh for his help with the ilive reader that made this updated farm possible.
