About This File

Nijo Station is a passenger train station aimed at moving moderate volumes of sims on and off the rails.

This gem of a station was originally created by APTX. With the demise of his site, many people have been left in the dark as to where to go to download his creations. With the help of DragonAnime, this station is now available for download on the STEX!

Like the NAM-compatible Bullet Train Mod (BTM) and bullet train skins I have uploaded from APTX in the past, good faith is assumed. Credit should be given to APTX for creating this station. I am merely uploading it to the STEX for all to enjoy, with the permission of APTX and the Simtropolis staff.

Dependencies: None
Recommended Downloads: Network Addon Mod (NAM)

Station specs:
Capacity: 10,000
Networks served: rail (passenger), bus, pedestrian, and car
Cost: $4,000
Demolition cost: $850
Monthly cost: $25
Size: 6x4

There are 2 rail lines included with this station. Ensure you drag 2 parallel rail networks through the station to ensure a working connection.

Simply extract the files to your plugins folder for it to work. The station will be found in your railways menu.

If you have any questions or concerns about the mod please post below.

Thanks and enjoy!

An appeal for your support: Help us keep the STEX up and running

11/06/2015

Hi Community, this is a public appeal for help to keep the STEX up and running! We currently need your help to offset some of our operational costs and upgrades! As you know, we've always relied on community donations to help keep the website running. And while all our admins and moderators volunteer their time to managing the site and community, we do have modest expenses that we need to cover each month which includes our server hosting fees, software and support licenses, etc. So lately, we've experienced a slump with donations and we're beginning to feel the pinch! We would really appreciate your support by way of a donation of any amount in order to keep the site up and running. Of course, as always, we'll send you a gift with a minimum donation as a Thank You. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to PM me!  Sincerely; Dirktator & The Admins PS. Thank you to those who have stepped up and donated the last couple weeks -- we really appreciate it!

We're still in the middle of updating things, please bear with us! Some things may appear strange or not quite working right - we're working on it!

• Subway + Railway
By Matthias King
To all the modders doing great work, I have a question:
Would it be possible to make a subway line connect to a regular railway line that was underground?
The reason I ask is because there are places in the real world where the 'subway' isn't all underground. The tracks come up from underground and connect to street-level tracks as well as elevated tracks.
In the game there's currently no way to bring the subway up from underground, but is that something that could be modded?
For instance, you have a normal subway line with a few stops, then you bring the tracks away from a stop, then continue them with regular rail tracks, underground, then from there you bring the tracks up to street level and to a station, or to one of the elevated stations that are on the workshop. Then from there you could continue on to any number of street-level/elevated stations before taking the tracks back underground to re-connect with the original subway line to complete a loop, or to start a new branch. Whatever the case.
Would this be possible?

• MGB RDP Starter Lots
By rsc204
This download contains five starter lots which can be used with my Rail Depot Pack (RDP).
Two small 8x3 (GLR/Rail) and 3 large (GLR/Rail/HSR) lots are included. All lots are Network-Enabled for the correct transit types. Large lots also include a road connection for access to the lot. All lots require Electricity, Water and Road Access, plus provide a small number of jobs. For full details of Lot Properties, see the included readme file. Find them towards the end of your Misc. Transit menu.
These depot lots utilise the features in RDP as follows:
Automata Props - These lots will show your installed automata upon them. Timing is used to change the trains throughout the day. Compatible with all RDP texture options. Select your style during install of RDP. Additionally there are three styles of lots, allowing support for the following Catenary options:
Plundere's Catenaries - Requires additional dependency Plundere's Catenary Essentials Rivit's Reskin of the above - Requires RUM for RRW German-style Catenaries - Additionally Requires SFBT Lichtsignale & Oberleitungen Props.
Note: Only the large lots are supported for this style. No Catenaries It is possible to mix and match between these options, but you can only use one of each lot.
Dependencies (Required for all Lots)
MGB Rail Depot Pack (RDP) BSC BAT Props - T1 Vol2 BSCMegaProps JES Vol01 BSCMegaProps JES Vol03 Network Addon Mod SHK Parking Pack HSR Lot Only:
HSR Stations Essentials Don't forget to install any of the optional catenary options you need (above).
Limitations of linked-Automata props
By utilising the resources inside my RDP dependency, these lots are able to show the installed automata upon them. Whatever automata you are using will appear, but in some cases they may not appear to fit together properly. There is simply too much variation out there to support every possible setup. In an attempt to make them as compatible as possible, I've based them off the fantastic automata made by Vester. This is because it offers such a wide variety of trains that I can verify will look as intended when used with these lots. The following automata packs have been tested to work with these lots:
GLR/El Trains:
VDK GLR Train Mods Vol 3
VDK GLR Train Mods Vol 4 Passenger Trains:
VDK Japanese Train Mods Vol 05
VDK Train Mods Vol 06, Super Express Trains
VDK Trains Mods, Volume 08 HSR/Monorail Trains:
VDK Train Mods Vol 7 - HSR Of course, the option exists to simply move the props as required using the Lot Editor, where results with other automata are not ideal. You are also totally free to modify these lots and release them. They have been lotted/modded to provide great functionality whilst keeping dependencies small. I'm sure some out there can create much better looking lots than I, but all the difficult modding is done for you this way.
• Steam Engine Smoke?
By rivit
Having returned to SC4 after a hiatus of about 6 months,  two Windows 10 upgrades (1024 and 1511), and a transition to a GOG 1.641 Simcity4, I notice that my steam engines no longer show the smoke they used to. Also in a completely vanilla SC4 the MAXIS steam engine no longer shows Smoke. As far as I can see so far all other rail effects as also truck effects are working. Has anyone else seen this behaviour?

A mosaic shot of the Trifort region's largest city, New Concorde, showing parts of the Central District and Old Quarter.  The highway T1, also called the Cross-Island Skyway, runs left to right in the picture.  The bridges on T1 that can be seen in the image are the Adamantine Bridge (left), which spans the Ebony River, and the Baar Dau Bridge (right), which crosses the Glass River.  New Concorde's most heavily-used freeway, the Central Concorde Expressway (T2), runs top to bottom on the right side of the picture.  Also of note is the main rail terminus in New Concorde, near the center of the image, which is surrounded by the tallest skyscrapers in all of Trifort.
