For the map import I strongly recommend using the Terraformer (it is possible to make it work in Windows 7 too).
If you are unable or unwilling to use the Terraformer, note that if you directly import the map from grayscale you will have to use the raise terrain tool (5 clicks) in god mode before starting a city in each lot.
Quick facts:
- Region size: 21 x 15
- Download includes config, grayscale-png and SC4m files
- Loosely based on area between Randsfjord and Sperillen*
- The screenshot shows the region with Columbus terrain mod and the Brigantine 2.0 water mod.
- Terrain is heavily edited to get some level land for happy building
