About This File

One Flag Many Nations - New Zealand Flag Addon

Many of you will of course have used the Maxis 'Day of Peace' Flag Mod... and the PEG-OFMN (One Flag Many Nations) flag mod on the STEX.

However... if you are a Kiwi from New Zealand... there is one slight problem...

The OFMN mod does not include the NZ flag.

Yes... I am sorry to have to be critical of our esteemed Pegamod, but that is the naked truth... he forgot us. Way back in 2004 when he made the original mod, he prolly didn't even know there was a country called New Zealand... (but you all know where I am from now don't you... )

Anyway mustn't prattle...

Since I have joined the dizzy world of Simcity and creating custom content for the game, I have used and made a number of lots that need a flag. So a couple of years ago Catty one of our other fellow Kiwi's got in touch with Geoffhaw... who well... makes flags.

The result was that he very kindly made a very fabulous animated New Zealand flag that is compatible with the Maxis Day of Peace mod. Up until now this particular flag has never been released...

Are the other Kiwi's of this world to remain flagless? No!

Geoffhaw has very kindly given me permission to upload the New Zealand Flag to the STEX.

OFMN Compatibility

For those from other countries, included is a very simple lot with just a flag, which is compatible with any other OFMN flag. The lot has a tranparent base texture, so it can be detailed with whatever MM Flora one wishes, or simply left with what ever terrain mod is being used.

Menu - Parks (near the PEG pine trails)

Cost - 10

Installation: Unzip to Documents/Simcity/Plugins/Flag Mod/

Uninstallation: Delete flag mod files from plugin folder.

Dependencies:
International Day of Peace Prop

**To use a flag other than the New Zealand one, simply swap the NZ flag files for whichever flag is desired from the
PEG One Flag Many Nations Mod

Your donations not only help keep the site up and running, but also allows us to expand some functionality and upgrade other features of the site periodically to stay current! We're looking for some community support to help us get a new Chat system (as you know our old Chat is no longer supported by IP.Board). A new system promises to give us many more options and all for fairly little cost, relatively speaking. Please help us reach our April goal so we can keep bringing you site improvements as well!  Donate and Get a Gift or Donate Any Amount Thanks so much! - Dirktator & The Admins

I'm missing the reward slots for the PEG navy mod for Navy bases 3 and 4. They never seem to show up in the rewards section, even with cheats used.

i was wondering if this is a common issue in the game... you can see the middle normal road has a nice 90 degree natural curve, now when i try to apply it to the dirt road version it doesn't work or just goes back to the normal road look. Anyone know any solutions around this?

Towering above the dry and barren Mesopotamian plains on the banks on the Euphrates, the wondrous Hanging Gardens of Babylon awed and amazed all visitors who came to stand before them. It was the Dawn of Civilization in an age of magnificent achievement when Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar II had the Hanging Gardens built to ease the homesickness of his bride Amyitis who had come to him from the green mountainous lands of Media.
Lost for Millennia, the Pegadyne Industries - Archeology Division eventually located and unearthed the ruins of this incredible World Wonder. Strapped for cash, the local government eagerly sold the ruins to Pegadyne Industries who carefully preserved and transported them back to your city. And there, as one of the greatest corporate tax write-offs of all time, the ruins have been restored to their prior glory and now serve as a museum of Ancient Civilization for all the world to enjoy. "
There are 2 versions of this lot. Both versions are museums with all the properties and benefits of a normal museum... except plop price. Both versions are also landmarks & tourist attractions and include those benefits as well.
Each version is 6x6 tiles in size... and both are designed to blend seamlessly with the PEG Oasis Park in order to expand the museum/park complex. One version includes a PEG Pond Kit river bank along one side that can be used as part of an existing Pond Kit river system or a custom pond/lake built exclusively for the Hanging Gardens.
The lot includes custom query & background sound effects... and a rather unique custom query. Also... be sure to look for the Harem Girls...
** Special thanks to BarbyW, Andreas, Blackbeard, Swamper77, Sepis, TEOM & ParadiseFarm for their assistance during the development of this project.
The Hanging Gardens has NO mandatory external dependencies.
The PEG Pond Kit is required for the river version of the lot.
The PEG Oasis Park is recommended for expanding the museum/park complex.

    • Thank-you for making it clear how to connect the water pump.   It was a detail that I overlooked in my description because I was running the tests using the utility radius mod.   I think from now on in my descriptions I will offer to assist anyone that may have issues with making the lot work.  That may help preventing jumping to conclusions.  I'm including a new preview using @CorinaMarie 's graphic that shows how to connect the pump.
    • Ah! Howdy! Those are cars! Especially the red one shortens commuter times!
    • I followed the steps that came up but in the end there was an error message, "The system cannot find the file specified"
    • In nature, the complex of dance begins with single cells, tropisms, although independently motivated according to the nucleus responding to gravity, tides and light, but gradually all evolution can be seen as a dance of chemicals and forms.  The more complex the dance, the more complex the life-form.   When I watch male and female figure skaters I am stunned by the extreme complexity of coordination of physical, sensory, cognitive and pure ability of flight that my species is capable of.    Dare I say, I am honored to be human.   All our technology and art are just toys compared to the actual material ability of ourselves as conscious physical beings.  As well, in the sciences, male and female have unique cognitive and perceptual abilities that are complimentary and mutually facilitative.  There's no limit to what can be achieved by human beings who know how to dance.
    • The water texture is designed to show dynamic flow, a churning of the water as if an industrial process is taking place.   Its supposed to be clean fresh water, so it would appear more saturated blue with whitecaps.  The texture and saturation also helps to distinguish it as clearly water and matches the tone and texture of the surrounding buildings.   In my texture pack I designed 4 different water textures for different applications of light.   As well, the darker tone of the water would be natural to the depth and confined space where there would be less scattering of light. Go ahead and feel free to suggest another one, or one you can imagine that might fit better.  Thanks for the feedback.
