  3. HD Water MOD.....   Description..... Yes, my final assault on the default terrain! I've seen a lot of this bright blue water swirl around and vanish in that little room where all the unfortunate plants are made to suffer. And now, here are blue-green oceans and waters with a slightly different look and surface texture. The Porcelain Water Throne never looked so good!   6. HD Terrain MOD.....   Description..... Ahh, that default terrain, great for Motocross, Survivalist and Junkyards but, you do have a choice, everybody; Green acres is the place to be, SimCity is the life for me, land stretching out so far and wide, forget about Maxis - give me this countryside! This MOD has been developed and tested with Windows XP, running SimCity 4 Deluxe.   Dependencies..... This MOD has no dependencies other than a yearning for that "Grass is greener on the other side of the fence" thing and, a bit of Hardware Rendering here and there unless you like to play those CTD Maps.   Installation..... Yea, yea I know, everybody has one and here's mine.What makes this different from my Intro Screen MOD is that now, I'm in Maxis territory, I can do some real damage here! This MOD was developed and tested with Windows XP running SimCity 4 Deluxe.   Dependencies..... This MOD has no dependencies other than a steady hand (whiskey helps here) and keen eyes.   Installation..... You need to access the Plugins Folder where SimCity was installed (not the one under "My Documents") and move the 5 Maxis Images to a safe location.   9. Custom Intro-Screen   Description With a Graphics Program, iLive's Reader Tool and an image of your choice you can replace the Maxis Intro-Screen with something more to your liking. This is my first attempt at using the Reader Program, I figured that SimCity 4 would still run even if I screwed this up! This MOD has been developed and tested with Windows XP, running SimCity 4 Deluxe.   Dependencies This MOD has no dependencies other than a bit of luck and a creative mind or whatever you have there.   Installation This MOD requires the use of a Graphics Program and the included Template (or any image that is 768x600 pixels) to create a new PNG File. You will need iLive's Reader Program to replace the existing PNG Image in the Data File with your new PNG Image.     Regular and Cheater.
     
    Regular just makes Alcatraz a jail with 100,000 inmates.
     
    Cheater contains:
     
    - No bulldoze cost
    - No plop cost
    - No monthly cost
    - No pollution or garbage
    - No power or water consumption
    - Same inmate capacity as regular
    - landmark effect
     
    CHOOSE ONLY ONE FILE.
     
    Both are still in Landmarks section.

    Tired of those oversized road signs, dangerously placed on your centrelines?

    This mod removes the yellow arrows that appear on all networks, when connected to a neighbouring city. The functionality of the connections is preserved. As a result, querying the network still reveals the information dialog (see screenshot). You may find this useful for creating City Journals, or to just make your cities more appealing.

    Note: A while ago there was a similar mod on the STEX, based around this concept. But for some reason is no longer available.
    So for the benefit of the community, I’ve now recreated it.


    INSTALLATION

    Simply copy / move the file named no_more_arrows.dat into your "Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins" folder.

In 3ds Max 2014 the gamma settings were updated that made BAT4MAX incompatible with it.  This file resolves that issue by specifying the expected gamma values and overriding max's default behavior in the export script.  Set MAX to its factory default settings of Gamma 2.2 for display, input and output.
     
     
     
    To install extract the zip file to a folder and copy the file to the following location.
     
    Copy CPBuildingMill.ms to C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2014\gamepacks\BAT\scripts
     
     
    Please note that this is intended to be installed after BAT4MAX v5 and only addresses issues when rendering out or exporting to a SC4model with 3ds max 2014.  If you are not experiencing extremely bright models (incorrect gamma) exported from bat4max you do not need this!

  14. This is a redone version of the Free Landmarks Mod done by CAL0807. I have requested permission from him, and permission was granted :)

  15. The Ontario RHW Texture Set (or Darkphalt texture set) overrides the Real Highway Textures with darker Ontario-styled textures, which slightly differ from the USA marking style. Furthermore, it introduces chevrons on the ramps
     
    This mod will take immediate effect and it will cover most of the RHW, though there are some very limited legacy support issues. Left hand drive support is included.
     
    How to install
    - Download Ontario RHW textures v10.zip
    - Download Ontario RHW textures v10 - LHD Support.zip if you have a left hand drive game.
    - Extract the ZIP-files in Plugins\z___NAM\Road Textures\Standard Retexture and Cosmetic Mod\RHW
    IMPORTANT NOTE: It is ESSENTIAL to install the files in this directory and to keep the folder structure intact. This will guarantee a mostly bug-free override.
     
    How to uninstall
    Simply delete the files from the Ontario RHW Texture Mod from your plugins folder.
     
    Dependencies
    Obviously the Network Addon Mod with the Real Highway Mod installed, but no other dependencies are required.

DAMN-NAM   DAMN is short for Daeley's Advanced Menu Navigator   This is a collection of menu's created from the NAM 31.2 installation.  This is version 1.0 and includes all NAM 31.2 E-Series controller items with the exception of the following Project Symphony, Canals, Maxis Highways and Hole Diggers (These can be added later if there is a strong demand for them).     DAMN-NAM includes menus for the following categories, subcategories and all associated pieces: Avenues El-Rail FLUPs (Flexible Underpasses) GLR (Ground Light Rail) HSR (High Speed Rail) Monorail NWM (Network Widening Mod) One Way Roads Pedestrian Mall Rail RHW (Real Highway) Road Street TuLEPs (Turning Lane Extension Pieces)   The only dependency is Daeley's Advanced Menu Navigator or DAMN.  There are special instructions for installation for full compatibility with these menu's in the readme.txt file included.   **Please note that some of the menu entry's are not functional and will have a placeholder image.  To use entries that have placeholder images use another nearby entry and then tab to it from there.  This will most likely change in the future when a design change can be made in the NAM that will allow these menu's to be made compatible.   **Also if upgrading from an older version please replace your damncontrol.dat with the new file in the zip since it allows the root menu's to function.  If you don't do this the root menu's appear but are not clickable.   Upgrade instructions are now included in the readme.txt file.     Enjoy!

    This mod will give your monorail network an extremely restrictive slope, so be warned!
     
    The Bullet Train slope mod, originally created by APTX  is now available for download on the STEX!
    -This mod was released as a part of the original Bullet Train Mod (BTM) which replaces the monorail network.
    -Due to it's high demand and hard to find download location, I have decided to make it a separate download for those who just want the slope mod. I have now made it available for your downloading pleasure!

    Simply extract the file into your plugins folder  and you will be able to drag your monorail network with smooth slopes. This slope mod is extremely restrictive, as you can see in the attached screenshot comparing it to a road with no slope mod (default) that isn't very restrictive and the RHW Slope Mod which is moderately restrictive. The photo shows a comparison of the amount of tiles you need to drag your networks to reach the 'ground lifter's' height from the hole digging lots package.

    As with my other uploads to the STEX, good faith is assumed (such as my uploads from APTX in the past). Credit for creating this for this mod belongs to APTX . I have simply uploaded it here. I would also like to thank Caspervg for providing technical and background information surrounding this mod.

    The SimCity 4 Buddy application aims to make life a little easier for SimCity 4 players out there.

    Do NOT expect a fully functional tool with zero bugs. I have tried to break the program in every way I could imagine to see if it broke, but I may have overlooked something.

    Now that that is out of the way, what does this program do?
     
    Features
    It has multiple purposes. This early version has the following features:
    Manage your user folders through a friendly user interface without having to mess around with folders and files manually. Let SimCity 4 Buddy install the plugins for you (dat, rar or zip files. Multi-volume rar archives (zzz.part1.rar, zzz.part2.rar) Launch the game with a specific user folder (i.e. a Paris region, SimMars, MTP, Futuristic etc.) Handle launcher command line switches through a user interface (stuff like no intro, no audio, 1 cpu, resolution, window mode etc.) Let SimCity 4 Buddy save your game at regular intervals Let SimCity 4 Buddy identify your plugins against the central database so you can easily manage your plugins onwards - Don't worry if all of your plugins aren't identified. The database is being constantly updated. Let SimCity 4 Buddy check if you are missing any dependencies (for plugins known to the central database) Check out the support thread below to see what features are to be implemented in the future (the dependencies stuff is quite nifty if I may say so myself)

    Mod simply enhances properties of most existing UDI vehicles, without breaking game in any way.
    There is already "Stronger UDI" mod by Daeley, but didn't like all changes he made to vehicles, and for some reason he destroyed functionality of few cars eg. Ice Cream Truck, rendering mission effectively impossible to do.

    Changes:

    - Increased greatly hitpoints of all land vehicles. Mind that you still crash after hitting certain objects. It's hardcoded in game, and out of my reach.
    - Decreased slightly train hitpoints in order to fix certain rare sound bug.
    - Increased moderately max speed of all land vehicles.
    - Increased slightly acceleration of all land vehicles.
    - Increased slightly max speed of all watercrafts.
    - Increased slightly max speed of helicopters and UFO.
    - Increased moderately max speed, climb angle and bank rate of fighter plane.
    - Unlimited missiles for fighter plane and military helicopter by pressing [Space] button.

  21. This mod adds (fictional) Imaginian styled streetlights and optionally it can replace all in-game streetlights. 8 new streetlight types (24 models in total), included with a more uniform light spreading, making your cities look great from far too.

    Installation
    Installation is quite simple: just put the right files into your plugins folder. The following files are included:

    • LightCones_DarkNite.dat
    • LightCones_MaxisNite.dat
    Contains the light cones. Select only ONE of these two files. Use the DarkNite light cones only when you have SimFox’s DarkNite Mod installed.

    • Models & Props.dat
    Contains all models and prop descriptors for this pack. Must be installed!

    • Ploppable Lights.dat
    Optional. Contains several sets of ploppable lights.

    • Override Set.dat
    Optional. Replaces all in-game streetlights with Imaginian styled streetlights. Also contains enhanced T21-exemplar setups for more variety.

    Uninstallation
    To uninstall the pack, remove the files from this mod from your Plugins folder.

    Turbo Roundabouts & ELR Over Avenue textures have been added for NAM32 compatibility, as well as other minor fixes and additions. The update is exclusively aimed at the sandstone version; development for the concrete version is discontinued. Still, the Turbo Roundabout & the flup rail plugins can be used by both versions of the mod without any visual disruption.

    Another variant is available! All GLR textures, including Tram-In-Avenue & Tram-In-Road medians have been redesigned with sandstone background. To use these, install the z_Super Light Asphalt Mod (sandstone) following instructions in the readme.You don't need the older version (concrete) to make the new one (sandstone) work.
     
    In case you use the sandstone variant, please note that the mod will not change the median  textures of BATs, such as Tram & Tram-In-Avenue transitions.

    Carpool Incentive Program Ordinance Fix as name implies fixes bugged ordinance. Costs has been changed to same as Automobile Emission Reduction Act, and as Automobile Emission Reduction Act decreases only Air pollution, Carpool Incentive Program decreases only Traffic Pollution. NAM's version of Clean Air Ordinance already decreases Traffic Pollution by 60%, so I have chosen mild value (10%) to not make ordinance overpowered.

    Cost to retract: §10
    Monthly cost: §20 + §0.005 per resident

    Traffic pollution decreased by 10%

      5x5 is even more uncommon in my mind especially when it comes to custom content.

      As for the building they're amazing and some of your best work, and the fact they came out at the time CS was at its lowest point in the STEX I think these are a worthy addition.

      About 20 mins to render.  Lots of water tiles open for island building.  The beaches are smooth and waterfronts good for building large cities with ports.  The arrangement of tiles is not random but optimized for city organization.  The transitions in elevation follow natural contour lines.  The overall texture is smooth.    This is a good map for a long term project of building a large region of cities connected by sea, land and air.
