As you know, we've always relied on community donations to help keep the website running.   1. GoFSH - FSH Texture Editor

    This tool is a useful aide in the texture creation process for SimCity.

    GoFSH, which has been written in VB.NET (referencing original FSHTool sources), knows how to make and split (into color and alpha bitmaps) all common FSH files (including animation sets) and make DXT1 and DXT3 FSH files from .bmp, .gif, .jpg, .tiff or .png files. The process is extremely simple, requires only a few clicks and allows you much more time to concentrate on better textures.

    Additionally FSH file-sets of different scales can be created. GoFSH is built to make batch processing easy and is designed to work closely with iLive Reader. All FSH files in Simcity have been read, modified and manipulated using GOFSH as part of testing, then reloaded successfully into Simcity - so I'm quite sure it works.

    Included at installation is a quick reference and worked examples (as a .pdf) of how to use GoFSH to produce custom textures.
    Installation Notes:
    Doubleclick the .msi file and follow the prompts to install. The GoFSH installation results in 3 files - GoFSH.exe, rvtvbFSHLib.dll and rvtvbGDIP.dll, all of which are installed automatically. It can be installed anywhere. A GOFSH folder is created in the user Profile.

    It is written for Windows to use .NET v2.0 and the installer will go and get this if it is not on your computer. It is know to run well on XP, Vista, Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10  (32 and 64bit).

    Even though is now version 2.96 and the program has been very extensively tested , there could still be oddities - please read the manual and interact on my Forum Support thread. However I do not accept responsibility for your safe computing practices. Back up everything you do - even before you realise that it is valuable to you - as once lost is lost.

  3. SuperSHK MEGA Parking Textures

    KOSC presents: SuperSHK MEGA Parking Textures
    Introduction

    Take parking lots to the next level! SuperSHK MEGA Textures is the backbone of my Superparking Project, and combines the original Volume 1 alongside the newly complete Volume 2 set. This MEGA set combines both for the ultimate parking lot texture resource for SC4.
    Overview
    This combined set contains at total of 1281 overlay textures (352 from Vol 1).

    Volume 2 contains a mind-boggling 929 new overlay textures. This set focus on expanding the core aspects of Volume 1 while adding some rather ridiculous new options. As with before, many of the new textures influences were found primarily from around North America's tech centers including Overland Park, Denver Tech Corridor, Silicon Valley, and Irvine. Additionally, some other inspiration came from various locations around the UK, including Portsmouth - these were largely responsible for my designing of a bunch of UK-style road markings.
    As it is now officially part of this combined set, SuperSHK Parking Textures Vol. 1 is now obsolete! This set retains every single texture from volume 1 and provides some overall enhancements to a large amount of them, including the following:
    Smoother curves Alignment fixes Smoothing and resizing of existing road markings to maintain consistency Furthermore, the "Extra" textures included with both modular sets are also no longer necessary. To aid you in cleaning any leftover old stuff, there is a Cleanitol file included. You may also refer to it for manual deletion as well.
    Details
    These textures are broken into 8 DATs. The included resource guide offers more detailed explanations.
    DAT 1 - Ortho: Combines a ton of new pieces with the original Ortho set. Deals mostly with orthogonal parking and associated transitions.
    DAT 2 - Islands, Paths & Curbs: Combines the original set of Islands & Curbs with Paths (excluding markings). Adds many brand new curb pieces and transitions from various different parking types.
    DAT 3 - Diagonals: Combines the original set of Diagonal with new ones. Adds islands, offset diagonals and more orthogonal transitions.
    DAT 4 - Markings: Contains road marking goodness! Highlights include more block-end stop markings, pathing, and an entire section of UK-specific ones. Also comes with a way to transform standard parking spaces into "boxed" ones.
    DAT 5  - D-Types: Contains significant support of the original SHK diagonal-oriented spaces. Includes a full complement of transitions, curbs and some bonus special pieces including handicapped spots and an alternate style.
    DAT 6 - Combo Pieces: Adds an enhanced set of standard parking and curb textures with sidewalks and grass.
    DAT 7 - Miscellaneous: Includes some additional pieces that didn't quite belong elsewhere like parking-to-path transitions and S-curves.
    DAT 8 - Alternate Style: Adds an alternate orthogonal parking style in two colors.
    For Lotters
    Included is a resource guide containing a general breakdown of the set as well as a sample lot (found in the parks menu) and layout examples. There are also PIM-X groups included, for better organization and some time saving while digging through this massive set!
    Install Instructions
    Drop the files in your My Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins folder. These should show up under the overlay texture section in the lot editor and PIM-X. 

    Lotters, copy the contents of PIMXGroups.txt into your groups.ini file located in the PIM-X install directory.
    Dependencies
    None. This set will serve as a future dependency for my lots. While it is technically a standalone texture pack, SHK Parking Pack is very, very highly recommended to take full advantage.

    Introduction
    THIS PACKAGE IS NOW OBSOLETE. GO HERE:
     
    After weeks of experimentation, I am proud to bring you my first texture set as part of my Superparking project. Originally conceived as a simple modular parking set, it evolved into an extension of the base SHK Parking Pack, and quickly turned into its own beast. Now this agglomeration of random parking lot ideas is finally a reality.
    Overview

    This set contains 352 new overlay textures for building and customizing your parking lots to your heart’s content. Many of these ideas were from parking lot layouts utilized by many business parks around North America, such as Denver's Tech Center and Silicon Valley. Note that this set avoids the full-parking-block-on-one-tile option – I’m referring to the single tile textures with back-to-back parking spaces, which has long been a part of SC4 (it shipped with the game!). Unfortunately, most of these are completely unrealistic, since vehicles have either one car length or less to back out on, not to mention the one-car width paths. Ultimately this set is geared for lotting more realistic style of parking, which are largely influenced by our resident nos.17.
    These textures are broken into 4 components, each with separate DATs. The contents are as follows:
    Pack 1: SHK+ Plus Orthogonals
    An extension of the original parking textures (quite literally). Spaces are approximately 20% longer so that the car props now stay within the spaces rather than jut out past – credit goes to MushyMushy for this one. Unfortunately with this change, these overlays aren’t quite compatible with the original SHK end island props, but that’s actually remedied somewhat here as well. This pack also introduces brand new transition pieces which are offered in all 3 standard wealth options with both pavement as well as grass choices.
    Pack 2: Islands, Curbs & Paths
    A set of parking “islands” and curb pieces meant for general pathing. Curb pieces contain all 3 standard wealth grass and pavement options. Also introduces diagonal parking block “bisectors”, which is just a diagonal path that cuts through an orthogonal parking block.
    Pack 3: Junctions and Road Markings
    Contains basic junctions and road markings. Markings include solid median lines in yellow and white, as well as stop signs and zebra crossings. LHD is supported.
    Pack 4: Diagonals
    Contains a basic set of diagonal parking textures and necessary pieces to make fully standalone diagonal parking lots. Includes orthogonal transitions, end islands, and some pathing related pieces. This is the main highlight of this set, as diagonal parking has been a rather neglected component of SC4. Well, not anymore I say!
    Bonus: Lotting Examples
    There’s a small folder included called “Lotting Examples” that contains a few images of layout combinations that are now possible with this set. Hopefully lotters will find this useful .
    This set contains no actual lots -- those will come at a later time!
    Install Instructions
    Drop the files in your My Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins folder. These should show up under the overlay texture section in the lot editor and PIM-X.

    If you downloaded before update , just let this file overwrite the previous download.

    These are filler textures that I had created for my use to blend the sandstone texture with the maxis white texture.

    The images are just a representation
    There are no lots , these are only textures for you to create your own using Lot Editor.

    To install , simply place Sithlrd98_SimpleTextures_1.dat
    into \My Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins and fire up Lot editor & they will appear towards the end under Base Textures. These textures are in compliance with the BSC texture index so there shouldn't be any conflicts.

    These are my first attempts at texture creating so please be gentle!

  7. Batch Png to Fsh tool

    This is a tool I wrote to convert multiple png / bmp images into fsh images. It takes a list of images and converts each image into a fsh file of the same name.


    The instance range in "instRange.txt" must be changed to your assigned range.

    The .NET Framework 3.5 Client profile is required on Windows Vista and XP.

    Mexico Terrain Mods (Chihuahuan Terrain Mod), This is a desert terrain mod, based of the Sonoran, Coahuilan and Chihuahuan desert located just north of Mexico. This file includes a controller where you can set the altitude height, beach height, etc...
    I suggest your to not use any rock mod, maxis rock mod looks great at this terrain mod, as for water mod its your choice.
    Special thanks to C.P. for allow me to include some of his terrain textures on this terrain mod.
    If you download this file please pick one type of terrain mod you want, depending you want snow over it... the normal (or the one that doesn't say hight or low height) that's the no snow version,, the low height is the most covered snow version and high height is the few snow version...

    Asphalt Highway Mod NAM Texture Fixes

    This mod will fix the missing textures from Thorvin's Asphalt Highway Texture mod.
    The missing textures are namely the NAM's Y interchange, the NAM's partial-Y, and the NAM's trumpet interchange.


    Known Issues:
    The trumpet interchange has a slight texture glitch at the merge between the on-ramps. This is only minor, and is only really noticeable at zoom 1.

    Installation
    Simply unzip the downloaded folder into My Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins. Also, make sure there is at least 1 'z' before the folder name to ensure it loads after the NAM itself.

  11. MGB - Maxis Texture Replacement Tutorial and Dev Kit.

    Do you use a Sidewalk mod that does not come with a Maxis Texture Replacer? Have you made your own custom sidewalks and want to extend them from the transit networks to your Lots? If the answer to either question is yes, you'll want to click download.
    In essence this file is a tutorial with step by step instructions (Word Document) from simply replacing the three default Maxis plaza textures (10 minutes work) to complete removal of all of the default Maxis textures that use the Grey, White and Pink colour scheme.

    NEW OPTION (MTRDK_Automated_Preview.zip) - JUN 2015
    Due to a new technique that's being worked on, it is now possible to automate creating the textures in this set. An in-development version of GoFSH is required in order to process them, if you select to download the file MTRDK_Automated_Preview.zip you will find in the archive a texture repository with all the required files, including a script for use by GoFSH. For now I will keep the old file available in case anyone prefers that, the automated version will remain a preview until a public release of GoFSH, however, it's extremely stable and much quicker this way, so please don't be put off by the word "preview". More information on the automated texture creation for SC4 can be found here if you are interested.

    Absolutely no modding experience is required to follow along, and included is my MTRDK (Maxis Texture Replacement Dev Kit) which includes pre-modified files that make creating replacements very easy. The screenshots above show the final results of this process with Paeng's Sandstone textures. This mod is an extension of my tutorial here on Sidewalks and how to get the most out of them.
    You will need SC4 Tools to follow along (and a photo editor for the optional final part).
    Hopefully someone will find this useful.

  13. Fsh Format Plugin for Adobe® Photoshop®

    This plugin allows Adobe® Photoshop® 5.0 or later to load and save Fsh files.

    Images containing an alpha channel are handled differently depending on the version of Photoshop.
    Photoshop 5.5 or earlier will add the alpha channel to the channels palette.
    Photoshop 6.0 or later will use the alpha channel as the layer transparency.

  14. BIWDC Texture Pack version 2

    Ok here is my texture pack ver.2 it is an update of the other version,in this one i re-did both my parking lot textures as seen in the pictures above now it is important that these textures not be used with the others i made so if you have them you must delete my old textures first then you can use these,now just as my other you can use these on your lots but if you upload your lot you must point the users to this file,anyway this set as my other includes 2 texture files in it +a 3rd Texture and you can use ether one or all 3 at the same time,and the 3rd texture is for industrial lots and commercial lots 0nly it is a type of loading zone with truck and semi trailer parking and/or storage the picture of it is in the zip.

    I updated the handicap parking texture with the handicap logo to make it more realistic so the blue lines now will have this logo(this was suggested to me by Johnb & Atelier Kell).

    Hi guys,
     
    This mod changes the soil on your city edges to black. I was looking for something like this but couldn't find it, only this excellent mod;

    and so I edited the images so they were plain black! Great for cross city tile stitching and mosaics!

    This mod will totally retexture your Maxis Highways to match any US styled textures. This will retexture every single Maxis highway texture, including the NAM interchanges.
     
    Are there any issues?
    Unfortunately, due to the way Maxis Highways are UV-assigned, there are some texture issues, mainly with the NAM interchanges. This cannot really be easily avoided from a texturer's point of view, but the current texture issues aren't really that serious.
    If you happen to spot any other issues, please let me know.
     
    How do I install this mod?
    To install this mod, unzip the downloaded file to Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins. 
    IMPORTANT: Ensure the included .dat file is INSIDE a folder in your Plugins, for example the path might be Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins/zz_folder-name/retexture.dat
     
    If you have the NETWORK ADDON MOD v31 or higher...
    I'd recommend that you install this texture mod using the Network Addon Mod's installer. If you didn't select it during your install, you can run the installer again without removing your existing installation, and tick the box which can be found in the Textures section.

    Highway Re-Styling Mod (HRS) version 0.4 - US and Euro Textures
     
    What is the HRS?
    The HRS will remodel your Maxis Highways, removing the concrete barriers in the middle and on the outside of the highways. The models included in v0.4 were made by Mandelsoft, who made the previous version of the mod.
    It will also change the texture to match the current Real Highway Mod textures.
     
    What's included in the download?
    There are 2 files available for download. The zz_HRS_America file will restyle your Maxis Highways to match American textures, and the zz_HRS_Euro file will restyle your Maxis Highways to match European textures.
     
    How do I install this mod?
    To install this mod, unzip the downloaded file (either the America version or the Euro version), and copy the folder to Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins. 
    IMPORTANT: Ensure the included .dat file is INSIDE a folder in your Plugins, for example the path might be Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins/zz_HRS/zz_HRS_*version*.dat .
     
    If you have the NETWORK ADDON MOD v31 or higher...
    You may need to place the included folder into your z___NAM folder in order for the mod to function correctly.

  21. WB3KM Texture Pack 1

    This texture pack contains over 100 Lot Editor overlay textures. All of them are park paths compatible with the BSC Park textures, and many contain paths at the FAR2 angle of 26.6° relative to the SC4 grid. You can use these textures to create parks or other lots of your own, similar to the parks shown in my CJ, Nyhaven.

  22. Paeng Textures Vol104

    This is a set of overlay textures (for pathways) and is a dependency for many of my lots and sets.

    The overlays are for paths of all kinds - narrow and wide paths, straight, curve, tee, cross, diagonal, wide-to-narrow-transitions etc.

    This updated version maintains all textures from the previous version and now includes a number of additional matching overlays for more intricate path-variations. Plus some... ;-)


    All you need to do is to remove the previous file -
    Paeng_Textures_v103.dat (old)

    and replace it with the one from this upload -
    Paeng_TexturePack_v104.dat (current)



    No further action required :-)


    Lot designers are free to utilize these textures, but the DAT file is not to be included with any download package. Please link to this upload instead.


    NOTICE: This pack does not contain any lots!



    To install:
    Place the DAT file in your \My Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins directory.

    To uninstall:
    Delete it from your \My Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins directory.

  23. SBT/TBM Arrow Replacement Mod

    Here's a new texture for your TULEPS. I wanted to do something different in terms of a texture for TULEPS for my region. This was the end result. While it won't be to everyones liking I got pointers from Mandelsoft on how to do it- with his experiance in making such things this was the end result. They may not be as curvy as a normal TULEP is and are therefor are different in that respect.
     
    Install instructions included.
     
    The only dependency is the latest NAM. You must have Tuleps and RHW installed to use these- As that is wher they show up.

    - This is a "reskin" of the Honda Civic texture, with a whole new 3D model based on the original which is belong to mikeseith.
    - The Toyota AE86 in the screenshot belongs to FANTA1990.
    - Modified vehicles speed with reference from cromaster / NK.
     
    What is a city without street racing?
     
    Here is something really small in a city, but interesting enough to be noticed
    among all the other ordinary-single-color-cars.
     
    I've remade the whole set with larger texture & new 3D model;
    also street racing version with added neon lights! 
     
    Just unzip the .dat file into your plugin folder. They will appear in the low wealth My Sims' cars list.
