  2. This is a map of the northwest quarter of Three Rivers Region, the 16x16 quad (large city square) region that is the subject of my CJ of the same name. The map is in SC4TerraFormer's .SC4M format, and requires SC4TerraFormer to install. 3RR-NW is eight by eight quads (64 quads total) and is hand terraformed to include landforms that are fair representations of their counterparts somewhere in RL. 3RR-SE is on the STEX here [ linkie ]. 3RR-SW is on the STEX here [ linkie ]. 3RR-NE is on the STEX here [ linkie ].

Again, you will need SC4TerraFormer, which is currently at V1.1 and which you can download here [ linkie ], to use this map.

Three Rivers Region is a landscape of the mind. A great deal more about it can be found here [ linkie ]. What you are downloading is the northwest one-quarter of the region, which is a 20 mile by 20 mile/32 kilometer by 32 kilometer square area consisting of 64 large SC4 city squares, which I call “quads” in my CJ. The other three other quarter-sections of the region are also on the STEX- you can search for them individually at the links noted above or all at once by typing my nic, “dedgren”, in the “find” box.

    To install this region:

    1. If you don't already have SC4Terraformer DL’d and installed, please do so.

    2. Create a new subfolder in your “My Documents” SC4 "Regions" folder and name it “3RR-NW”.

    3. Unzip this file into the 3RR-NW subfolder.

    4. Run SC4TerraFormer and select the "3RR-NW" region.

    5. In "Global Tools", select "Import Image"

    6. Navigate to the "My Documents\Simcity4\Regions\3RR-NW" folder and choose "3RR-NW.SC4M"

    7. Select and execute “Save” from the SC4TF main menu and then exit the program.

    8. Run SC4 and, at the region screen, select and load 3RR-NW from the regions displayed. Please note that the quads will be in SC4TerraFormer colors until you open and save each one. You will also, if you want to have 3RR appear as it does in my CJ, to DL and install cycledogg’s Columbus Terrain mod [ linkie ] and his updated Columbus textures #3 [ linkie ] and #4 [

  3. This is the East side of Whatcom County, Washington in the U.S. containing the East half of Lake Whatcom and Mt. Baker. It is part of the BellBaker Super Region (BBSR), and it requires either SC4TerraFormer or SC4Mapper found on Simtropolis.

This region has a few flat areas, but it is mostly rugged terrain and as such it will be difficult to build in most places. However, there are many small mountain towns and plenty of recreational areas. It is an excellent site for playing with PEG's Mountain Theme Pack (MTP), and it is half of the BellBaker Super Region discussed on http://www.mik-maq.com/sc4tf/BellBaker. Enjoy!

  4. NHP Portland, Oregon by Blade2k5

    Map Details and Information

Portland was incorporated in 1851 and it has grown into the second largest city in the Northwest. People who settled in the region made their living catching and selling fish, cutting timber and producing lumber, growing and harvesting wheat and raising cattle for market. Portland became a major transportation center because of its proximity to Railroads and Rivers. The City of Portland, Oregon celebrated its 150th anniversary of incorporation in 2001 and lies at the foot of Mt. Hood and at the confluence of the beautiful Columbia and Willamette Rivers. Some of the most beautiful views in the world are found 20 miles to the east of Portland along the Columbia River.

  9. Chuckatuk is a fantasy map. It was created by using USGS data of Mt. Rainier/Olympia/Tacoma. It is NOT accurrately  scaled and it was rotated and manipulated heavily.
The result is a map that promises to be quite challenging with almost constant elevation variation, yet rewarding because there is a lot of wide open area.  Make use of the islands; build a massive seaport; create a high-rise jungle; develop rural rail villages; or whatever your imagination can devise!

This one is 5 x 6 large cities, 20km x 24km, 1281 x 1537- and I made the config all large-sized cities - of course, you can make your own config if you prefer.

The download is a .SC4M file (which is why this is uploaded in props) and the config.

    Be creative and enjoy!

    Dependencies:
You must have either SC4Mapper or SC4TerraFormer.
The screenshots show the map rendered with cycledogg's Columbus Terrain Mod with snowcapped low, and with the water mod from cycledogg's Missouri Breaks terrain set - these, of course, are not necessary to play the map.

    Instructions:
    In SC4Mapper:
    1. Open SC4Mapper
    2. Click "Create Region"
    3. Click "SC4M"
    4. Locate and select the file you downloaded (chuckatuk.sc4m)
    5. Click "Save Region"
    6. Name it whatever you would like.
    7. Quit SC4Mapper
    8. Launch SimCity4
    9. Load the region you just created in SC4Mapper.
    10. Play. (Don't be alarmed by the colors; when each tile is opened, the colors will change to your normal ones.)

    In SC4TerraFormer:
    1. Create a new folder in your "regions" subdirectory. This will be the name of the region.
    2. Copy of move the contents of the zip folder to the new region folder.
    3. Launch SC4TerraFormer.
    4. Select the region folder you just created.
    5. Click "Ok".
    6. The full program will launch. Close the "Overview" window.
    7. On the menu on the left, click "Global Tools."
    8. Under "Global Tools," select "Import image."
    9. Navigate to the region folder and select the .SC4M file. (chuckatuk.sc4m)
    10. With "scale factor" set at "Default factor," select "Ok."
    11. Save and exit SC4TerraFormer.
    12. Load the region you just created.
    13. Play. (Don't be alarmed by the colors; when each tile is opened, the colors will change to your normal ones.

  10. NHP Gary, Indiana by Blade2k5

    Map Details and Information

Gary, Indiana, is one of the youngest cities of its size in the United States.  It was founded in 1906 by the United States Steel Corporation.  In that year, the corporation built a steel-making plant and the town of Gary right next to the plant, because this location was a good one for water and rail transportation, and because this area was roughly midway between the coal fields of the Appalachian Mountains, the iron ore mines of Minnesota, and the limestone quarries of Michigan.  All of the above materials are needed for the manufacture of steel.  The city was named for Judge Elbert H. Gary, who was the board chairman of U.S. Steel at the time.  The steel plant that the company built was the largest of its kind in the world at that time, and U.S. Steel also designed and built the part of the town that was occupied by the steel company’s management employees.

  11. This train skin changes the original passenger train in SimCity to a 'Talent' train with the color scheme the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit Authority uses for their new commuter trains. I made it due to a request by Ninja12 in the Simtropolis forums. Many thanks to oppie for the original model and skin.

There are two files included, one for the engine, and one for the wagons. Put both into your plugins folder (My DocumentsSimCity 4Plugins) and make sure no other passenger train mod is installed.

  12. NHP Pearl Harbor / Honolulu Hawaii by Blade2k5

    Map Details and Information

In Oahu's geological history, Pearl Harbor was a river. The area lies at the end of a long valley formed by the Koolau and Waianae ranges. These mountains caused heavy rainfall, creating rivers that cut deep canyons in the island where they emptied into the ocean.

As Oahu sank and sea level rose, sea water flooded these great ravines, leaving only the highest land exposed. Today, we call these plateaus the Waipio Peninsula, the Pearl City Peninsula and Ford Island.

And the body of water surrounding these high points is Hawaii's largest estuary, Pearl Harbor. Ancient Hawaiians named this estuary Wai Momi, meaning the river of pearls.

But it wasn't pearls that attracted large numbers of people to its shores. Rather, the area offered a steady supply of food in the form of fish, birds and invertebrates, including oysters.

The oyster that once flourished in Pearl Harbor was a small species (Pinctada radiata), about 2 inches wide. Hawaiians ate the soft parts either raw or cooked and threw away any pearls they found. They did, however, value the oysters' shells, from which they carved mother-of-pearl fishhooks. Anglers believed the sheen from these beautiful, iridescent hooks attracted fish.

It lies near the geographic center of Georgia, approximately 85 miles (136 km) south of Atlanta, hence the city's nickname as the Heart of Georgia. As of 2008, Macon had a population of 92,775;] as of 2007, the Macon, GA Metropolitan Statistical Area had an estimated population of 229,846 and the Macon-Warner Robins-Fort Valley Combined Statistical Area had an estimated population of 386,534.  In terms of population Macon is the ninth-largest city (just after Sandy Springs), fifth-largest Metropolitan Statistical Area, and fifth-largest Combined Statistical Area in Georgia. 14. Due to popular request: I modded my BART commuter train into an elevated train, so you can use it with both transportation systems. Since the cars are a bit longer than the Maxis ones, it might look odd when the train changes from el to subway, but otherwise it works quite well.

This mod will replace the original el-train/subway cars. There are two files included, one for the engine, and one for the wagons. Put both into your plugins folder (My DocumentsSimCity 4Plugins) and make sure no other el-train mod is installed.

  20. Modified growing trees by ArkenbergeJoe
    -This is my first upload-
With this Mayor Mode trees you can create realistic open spaces and add more variety to your parks. Like the Maxis Mayor Mode trees, they are growing over the time. One tree costs §3 to plop (the same price as the in-game ones). Many thanks to the BSC Team for their permission to use their tree models. This download doesn't have any external dependencies, since I had to include the models due to ID changes.
For further information, refer to the included readme file.
    NEW: Prop-Family included

  21. NHP Mt Jefferson, Oregon by Blade2k5

    Map Details and Information

    Mt. Jefferson:

Mt. Jefferson is a stratovolcano made of andesite and dacite. It formed during two episodes. The earlier episode constructed a volcano that was probably higher than the present-day Mt. Jefferson. Glaciers carved deep canyons into this volcano. This episode ended with the growth of dacite domes near the summit and collapse of the domes to produce ash flows.  The more recent episode of volcanism probably occurred when there were glaciers on Mt. Jefferson. The distribution of the lava flow has an unusual pattern. Instead of spreading out over a large area they are all stack on top of each other. This pattern was probably caused by the flows being contained in steep glacier valleys.  The flows are also very glassy and have unusual joints, features that result from contact with ice.

Mt. Jefferson has not erupted in historic time. There is a suspected eruption at South Cinder Peak in 950 A.D. Jefferson erupted in 4,500 B.C. at Forked Butte, south-southeast of the main volcano.  The mountain rises to a height of 10, 492.

Mt. Whitney:  Mt. Whitney California is the tallest peak in he Continental U.S. and reaches 14,494 feet in height.  Mt. Whitney is located in Sequoia National Park in the southern half of the mighty Sierra Nevadas, the only range of mountains that has more peaks over 14,000 feet than any other range in the continental U.S.

  23. This is a set of props for use in station making there are also some props from other networks that might be useful as well

    Whats Inculded:
    1. Elevated Highway
    2. Double Height El-Rail
    3. Double Height Monorail
    4. El-Rail
    5. Monorail
    6. High Speed Rail
    7. Ped Bridge
    8. Heavy El-Rail
    9. Ground Highway
    10. Diagonal El-Rail
    11. El-Rail Terminus
    12. Diagonal El-Rail Terminus
    13. Ground High Speed Rail
    14. Diagonal Monorail
    15. Monorail Terminus
    16. Diagonal Monorail Terminus

See Pictures of all the props included here

    How they work:
Theese props refrece the IIDs of the S3D model directly so they will always match. Also if something is installed to replace the IID (as in the case of BTM) it will automatically update to reflect the change. I did this by using Resource Key Type 0 Refrencing (Thanks to blue lightning and z for the idea)

    Use:
To use theese props just put the file in your plugins folder. Then look for the props in Lot Editor The names of the props are the same as in the list above.

    Dependencies:
To use the HSR props you will need to have the HSR
To use the ped bridge prop and the double height props you will need the NAM.\
If you are not using any of the above props in your lot then you dont need anything.

If you want to use theese props in your own stations go ahead. Thats what i made them for.

In order to use theese props in your stations, you will need to LOD them to not include the part where the rail will be showing. There is a tutorial on how to do this as well as a thread where you can request more network props here

  24. NHP Baton Rouge Louisiana By blade2k5 & Papab2000

    Map Details and Information

    Beginnings
Baton Rouge dates back to 1699, when French explorer Sieur d'Iberville leading an exploration party up the Mississippi River saw a reddish cypress pole festooned with bloody animals and fish that marked the boundary between Houma and Bayou Goula tribal hunting grounds. They called the tree "le bâton rouge," or red stick. The native name for the site had been Istrouma. From evidence found along the Mississippi, Comite, and Amite rivers, and in three native mounds remaining in the city, archaeologists have been able to date habitation of the Baton Rouge area to 8000 B.C.

    Capital City Progresses
Since European settlement, Baton Rouge has functioned under seven governing bodies: France, England, Spain, Louisiana, the Florida Republic, the Confederate States, and the United States. In the mid-1700s, driven into exile by British forces, many French-speaking settlers from Canada's maritime provinces known then as Acadia, took up residence in rural Louisiana. Popularly known as Cajuns, descendants of the Acadians, (French: Acadiens), maintained a separate culture that immeasurably enriched the Baton Rouge area. Incorporated in 1817, Baton Rouge became Louisiana's state capital in 1849. Architect James Dakin was hired to design the new Capitol building in Baton Rouge, and rather than mimic the federal Capitol Building in Washington, as so many other states had done, he conceived a Neo-Gothic medieval castle overlooking the Mississippi, complete with turrets and crenelations. The edifice was famously lampooned by Mark Twain in his Life on the Mississippi,[2] calling it a "little sham castle" and an "architectural falsehood" among other maledictions of the style which Twain attributed to nefarious influence of Sir Walter Scott. During the first half of the nineteenth century the city grew steadily as the result of steamboat trade and transportation; at the outbreak of the American Civil War the population was 5,500 people. The Civil War halted economic progress but did not actually touch the town until it was occupied by Union forces in 1862.The Confederates gave up Baton Rouge without a fight, deciding to consolidate their forces elsewhere, during which time, the state capital had been moved to Shreveport, but it was returned to Baton Rouge in 1880.

    Modernization
Increased civic-mindedness and the arrival of a north-south railroad led to the development of more forward-looking leadership, which included the construction of a new waterworks, widespread electrification of homes and businesses, and the passage of several large bond issues for the construction of public buildings, new schools, paving of streets, drainage and sewer improvements, and the establishment of a scientific municipal public health department.By the beginning of the twentieth century, the town had undergone significant industrial development as a result of its strategic location for the production of petroleum, natural gas, and salt. In 1909 the Standard Oil Company built a facility that proved to be a lure for other petrochemical firms. The New Louisiana State Capitol was built in 1932 by Huey P. Long and signaled the eventual growth of the city. Throughout World War II, these plants increased production for the war effort and contributed to the growth of the city.

    Today
In the 1950s and 1960s, Baton Rouge experienced a boom in the petrochemical industry, causing the city to expand away from the original center, resulting in the modern suburban sprawl. In recent years, however, government and business have begun a move back to the central district. A building boom that began in the 1990s continues today, with multi million dollar projects for quality of life improvements and new construction happening all over the city. In the 2000s, Baton Rouge has proven to be one of the fastest growing cities in the South, in terms of technology. Baton Rouge's population exploded after Hurricane Katrina as residents from the New Orleans metropolitan area moved northward following the devastation, estimates in late 2005 put the displaced population at about 200,000 in the Baton Rouge area. However, despite claims from mayor Kip Holden of permanent growth in the region the growth proved to be only temporary as displaced citizens returned to their home regions. Due to the hurricane victims returning home and native Baton Rouge residents fleeing to outlying parishes, the U.S. Census Bureau has designated Baton Rouge the second fastest declining city in it's 2007-2008 estimate. Baton Rouge Metropolitan Area has been cited as one of the faster growing metropolitan areas in the U.S. (under 1 million), with 600,000 in 2000, and 770,000 in 2008, with most of the growth concentrated in Livingston Parish and Ascension Parish. Aside from politics, there is also a vibrant mix of cultures found throughout Louisiana, thus forming the basis of the city motto: "Authentic Louisiana at every turn".
