Marigli's Diary of 1690-1700 , speak Vlach village Vucova belong Lugoj district . After the conquest of the Austrian Banat , appear early writings detailed documentation on Vucova . The 1717 census records the village Vukowo with 63 wooden houses, belonging Ciacova district . Shortly after, in 1723-1725 , the map appears Count Mercy , which again confirms the existence of village Wacova name . Old center of the village is little more to the south than the current one . In 1785 , by administrative decree , part of the southern border has been reorganized to accommodate a new German colonies that would become the village Niţchidorf . All settlements within the same program , another part of the land Vucova were attached to the neighboring village Blajova , all to accommodate the German colonists who settled there since 1785. 2. The old upload was taken down a while back because I had pre-rendered the map which made the download way to big to be an acceptable size so I took the time to rebuild the map somewhat before uploading it as a much more compact .SC4M file.

I mainly did this because the original heightmap I used had poor quality and I had taken a lot of creative editing to make it look the way it did. The new map however is based on a much more detailed map of the Antarctican continent without the ice sheet, and this one also has much more accurate isostatic rebound and sea level rise. So it should be ready to play as-is.

There are 11 Large, 34 Medium and 18 Small playable land-based city regions. The map totals at 28 x 28 small map regions on each side.

Please note that the map is not to scale (Antarctica is twice the size of Australia). I just did this for fun.

Changes from the previous map include a rotation 90 degrees clockwise so that the side of Antarctica that faces south america is facing "North," as well as a much higher quality height map that includes both sea level rise from all the melted ice and the isostatic rebound of the continent rising higher due to having less weight pressing down on it.

  6. G'Day Simtropians,

Thanks for not forgetting me, so I thought what about a little celebratory map! This I made about 4 years ago and decided at the time not to release it as CP also has a map on the lex of the Grand Canyon. Tonight I thought what the heck for those who do not frequent sc4d, here she is.

The Grand Canyon is situated in Arizona and is about 17 million years old, although the Colorado River has carved out about 2 billion years of geological history of our beautiful Earth in that time. A mighty effort all round I should think.

Of course this is an accurate scale map prepared with dem data. It's in sc4m format so one will need wouanagaine's mapper or terraformer, links and further instructions are in the zip.

    That's all folks
    Cheers

The map is made entirely out of small squares.

Well this has been a lifelong ambition for ten years, and now I've finally achieved it.

    Enjoy.

  11. Anyone seen those maps people have made with grayscale images they made in photoshop or downloaded off the internet thinking they were cool?  You ever noticed how you would have to go over the entire map to smooth out all the edges because they didn't even bother to try and play the map?  You hate it when you load a map up and the land and water are at exactly the water level so that you have vast amounts of water you can see through and a ton of land you can't build on?  Or how about those maps that have completely flat ground in the open spaces?  I hate all these things too.

So I bring you another map that was made specifically for playing.

I made this map by hand in SC4Terraformer.  I have noticed a great deal of maps uploaded just aren't playable, sure they look pretty but they just aren't playable.  Not enough attention was paid to them, too sad really.  THIS map was made with playing in mind, never mind it looking realistic or being a place we can relate to.  This map is made to be played.  You can dig no less than 15 meters with hole digging lots all over the map, anywhere, it has mountains, hills, plains, rivers, lakes, and a coast line with a bay and a few islands here and there.  The waters are just shallow enough to build coastal development kit custom content but also deep enough to allow boat passage anywhere and everywhere.  There is a mixture of steep and beach coastline and the beaches are not so long that you can't build anything on them.  The flat ground, the plains, is not really flat anywhere, I made sure to erode the terrain enough so that the ground is not completely flat, it is flat enough that building a railroad with a slope mod installed might not even alter the terrain(in places) but if you build farms over fast amounts of  flat land you will notice the land actually rolls.  I even included some smaller city tiles surrounding a large tile so that you can naturally, with an unmodded game, unlock rewards that are centered around building neighbor connections to many maps.  So this map is great for vanilla games and heavily modded games.

    Instructions for installation:

    1. Download
    2. Unpack the .zip
    3. Open SC4 Mapper 2013 http://www.simtropolis.com/news/_/general-gaming-news/sc4mapper-2013-version-r314
    4. Click "Create Region"
    5. When prompted, select .SC4M
    6. Browse to the location of the unpacked .zip you created in step 2
    7. Open it
    8. Click save.

I hope you all enjoy this map.  Thanks for downloading.

  23. This is a map of a region created by glaciers and volcanos and it is probably not realistic to create large areas with dense population. You need SC4 Mapper or Terraformer to open the SC4M-File (config.bmp is included). The map looks better with a terrain mod for snow capped mountains.

On this map you can use snow themed buildings etc. on a map that has no arctic terrain mod.
I also included the silhouette of a river. If you have the Extra Terrain Tools 2 installed (Rain Tool), you can use it to simulate melting snow.

    Dependencies:
SC4 Mapper / Terraformer to open the SC4M-File (config.bmp is included) A terrain mod for snow capped mountains (otherwise this map looks really boring)

  25. For all land lubbers I present Goshwhataplace. A slightly modified region created by the Lanscape Designer (by Greyveil). 93 city tiles of all sizes should occupy region builders for a few months.

This is a game renderable map, and as such you should proceed as follows:
After expanding this .zip file move the contents to a new sub-folder in your Regions folder then start the game.

Navigate to your new region. The game displays the layout from the config.bmp.

Press CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+r to start the renderer. The renderer displays a file dialogue box.

Navigate to the Goshwhataplace.jpg file and select it by clicking on the icon on the left. This loads the file name into the selection box.

Press enter. The render starts. THIS CANNOT BE INTERRUPTED, so go for coffee or grab lunch or something. It will take about 45 minutes on an average modern machine. Keep loose nut away from the keyboard and mouse.

When the render finishes you will see the final terrain. Terraform if desired. You may want to add some rivers and streams as you pick up cities, and will certainly want to add flora.

    Have fun.
