    [i]Les Cayes (Haitian Creole: Okay), is a town and seaport in southwestern Haiti, with a population of approximately 45,904 people (1995 estimate). Estimates from 2008 place the population at close to 70,000 people. Due to its isolation from the political turmoil of the capital, Port-au-Prince, it is one of Haiti's major ports, with export trade concentrating on mostly coffee and sugarcane. As the world's largest supplier of vetiver, it exports 250 tons annually of this ingredient of perfume and fragrance manufacturing. Minor exports include bananas and timber (source : Wikipedia).[/i]

  2. G'Day Simtropians,

    Today I wish to present a map of Auckland, largest city in New Zealand and also known as The City of Sails.

    See this map up [color="#ff0000"][b][u][url="http://sccommunity.co.cc/index.php?topic=23.60"]CLOSE[/url][/u][/b][/color] and personal.

    This is a real world map and is kind of large at 73.728km x 73.728km. It is terrain and scale accurate and is 16bits. It is in .SC4M format and requires Wouanagaines mapper to import it into one's game.
    Terraformer will not work with this map as it is too large.

  3. In my Adobe class at college, I just learned the pen tool so when I got home, I started playing around with the pen tool creating various shapes to get a feel for the pen tool. I decided to turn those shapes into lakes for a region. And here you have it, a region created from me practicing the pen tool in Adobe.

    Dies ist eine Karte der Nordfriesischen Inseln ohne Sylt, Größe 33x33km, also eine Bigmap. SimCity kennt keine Gezeiten, daher gibt es auch keine Deiche, die müssen bei Bedarf nachträglich erzeugt werden. Obgleich einige Inseln durch einen schmalen Pfad verbunden sind, müssten diese ebenfalls nachträglich straßentauglich gemacht werden. Die Herausforderung dieser Map besteht demnach darin, die Inseln durch Fährverbindungen wirtschaftlich effizient zu verbinden. Die Region ist knapp besiedelt, die wichtigsten Wirtschaftszweige sind Tourismus und Landwirtschaft, es ist somit die zweite Herausforderung für den motivierten Spieler, etwas mehr rauszuholen.
    Dabei wünsche ich viel Spass. In eigener Sache betreibe ich eine kleine aber internationale facebook-Gruppe für Simulationsspiele aller Art, insbesondere natürlich SimCity 4, die SimCity4 AG, schau doch mal vorbei, oder mach gleich mit.
    Installation: SC4-Mapper ist ausdrücklich NICHT zu empfehlen, sondern:
    1. SimCity 4 starten, neue Region erstellen, Wasser auswählen und benennen, zB: Nordfriesische Inseln
    2. SimCity 4 beenden, den SimCity-Regionsordner öffnen (bei mir: C:\Users\Nick Bauer\Documents\SimCity 4\Regions), und mit der geladenen config.bmp die vorhandene ersetzen
    3. SimCity 4 erneut starten, neue Region auswählen, Strg+Alt+Umschalten+R zusammen drücken, in kleinen Fenster oben links die geladene "nordfriesische.inseln.2049.bmp" suchen (bei mir meist im Download-Ordner: C:\Users\Nick Bauer\Downloads)
    4. Hat alles geklappt wird die Region erzeugt, das dauert etwa 10-15 Minuten, vielleicht mit einem Kaffee o.ä. überbrücken
    5. Sobald die neue Region angezeigt wird kann es losgehen
    6. Bei Problemen wende dich an die o.g. Gruppe oder an mich persönlich: Nick Bauer

    This is a map of the North Frisian islands without Sylt, size 33x33km, so it's a bigmap. SimCity does not know tides, so there are no dikes, which have to be produced afterwards. Although some islands are connected by a narrow path, they would also have to be enlarged in the game. The challenge of this map is therefore to connect the islands economically efficiently by means of ferry connections. The region is sparsely populated, the main economic sectors are tourism and agriculture, making it the second challenge for the motivated player to get a little more.
    I wish you lots of fun. On my own behalf, I run a small but international facebook group for simulation games of all kinds, especially SimCity 4, the SimCity4 AG, have a look, or join in.
    Installation: SC4-Mapper is NOT recommended, but:
    1. Start SimCity 4, create and name a new region, eg North Frisian Islands, choose water
    2. Exit SimCity 4, open the SimCity region folder (for me: C:\Users\Nickbauer\Documents\SimCity 4\Regions), and replace the existing config.bmp with the loaded one
    3. Restart SimCity 4, select the new region, press Ctrl + Alt + Shift + R, find the "nordfriesische.inseln.2049.bmp" in the small window at the top left: (for me: C:\Users\Nick Bauer\Downloads)
    4. If everything has worked out the region generates, which takes about 10-15 minutes, maybe with a cup of coffee
    5. Once the new region is displayed, it can start

    The symbol itself is the water, while the rest in flat land.
    Perfect for city names named after males and females you may know, male or female game character city names, or any other masculine or feminine city names.

    Dies ist die Metropolregion Hamburg mit 5 Millionen Einwohnern, zugleich meine Heimat. Hamburg ist die zweitgrößte Stadt Deutschlands und die Stadt mit den zweitmeisten Brücken weltweit. Das ist eine vierfach-Map, zum Erstellen in SimCity4 wird eine 32px-config.bmp benötigt.

    This is the Hamburg metropolitan region with 5 million inhabitants, it is also my home. Hamburg is the second largest city in Germany and the city with the second highest number of bridges in the world after NYC. That's a fourfold map, to create in SimCity4 a 32px-config.bmp is required.

    Installation:
    This map is in .sc4m format and requires either Terraformer or Mapper to import.

    1. Navigate to your Documents/Simcity 4/Regions folder and create a new folder with your desired region name
    2. Copy+paste the config.bmp file into the folder you just created.
    3. Open SC4TF, open the new region, import the .sc4m file, save and quit.
    4. You must open and save each tile for it to display your terrain mod instead of the terraformer/mapper elevation color overlay.

    Description:

    Get out your commuter trains. Tokyo is the worlds largest metropolitan area with over 32 million inhabitants (or something like that, i'm going from memory).

    This map is a whopping 76km x 76km and made from satellite data. If you want to make it smaller, don't forget you can black out areas of the config.bmp as long as the resulting configuration forms an acceptable grid to sc4's engine.
    Map made using satellite data, image editing software, and drunkapple's invaluable advice. edit: [u]Map is scale and terrain accurate.[/u]

    (I HIGHLY recommend using the high altitude + snow installation of Lowkee's most excellent Appalachian Terrain Mod and shokthrpy's Brigantine 2.0 HD water and HD rock mods)

  9. This was made by 'and, so it's called Andia.  Lots of flat place for building, which is nice if you use roadtop mass transit of any sort.   Features both coasts and mountains.
    A greyscale image, region.ini, and config file are included.  Use the config, or make your own to suit. 
    To install press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+R, browse to and select the greyscale image,  then go do some chores while the game renders the map.

  11. I made this map because I could find no map large enough to fulfill my territorial needs. The map was 8000x5000 but i could not make a config for it so i downsized to4097x2561. This map has flat plains, valleys, mountains (a lot of mountains), peninsulas, islands, oceans, bays, rivers, lakes, gulfs, and much much more...

    INSTALL the REGIONS Folder:  SC4M Earth 2x3 Relief
    I have included an .SC4M map of the '05_Earth_769x513_2x3_Relief' map in a new folder.  To load the map in SC4 Mapper, click on 'Create Region' and select 'Grayscale'.  SC4 Mapper creates the city files and a config.bmp file by default, but not a region.ini file.  A region.ini file is included in the folder which may be cut and pasted into the Region folder SC4 Mapper creates.  Included above are 2 new previews (to the right) showing an image from SC4 Mapper, and the rendered map in 'SC4 Region View.'

    FOR ALL OTHER MAPS using the SC4 in-game Map Renderer
    From the unzipped 'Regions' folder select any or all of the sub folders, cut and paste into your user  '/Documents/ SimCity 4/Regions' folder.   Each of the Regions will then appear in your 'Region' menu in the game with the same name as the folder.  Each folder contains a region.ini file and a config.bmp file, defining the name and layout of the region.
    The 'Earth Signature' region is a 1x1 large city tile, containing only one large blank terra-formed tile.  This folder also contains 1 city file (662k) named 'City - New City.sc4'.  This region does not have to be rendered and may be viewed and used immediately in the game.  The city has not been 'Start'ed so is still named 'City - New City.sc4'.  
    All other region folders only contain the region.ini and config.bmp files, the maps must be rendered in SC4 region view using the included grayscale heightmaps in .bmp (256 indexed grayscale 8-bit) format.
    The grayscale heightmaps in this package were hand designed for use with the SC4 in-game map renderer using a popular color relief map.  If you use SC4 Mapper or Terraformer, smoother surfaces and smaller file sizes may be achieved, but elevation interpretation is different, generally the water level is one increment shallower, some land area may go under.
    Instructions for rendering the maps with SC4 can be found at the bottom of this page.
      SCALING in SC4 3D SPACE:  The maps are not proportionally scaled either horizontally or vertically, they only represent a general idea of area and height.  
    Horizontally, the term 'tile' is used for both the grid of squares in the city view and the grid of cities in the region view.  One city view tile is 16m x16m, and one large city tile in region view is 4km x 4km.  
    Grid lines in city view may be toggled on/off by pressing the 'g' key.  Grid lines in region view may be switched on/off by checking/unchecking 'Show City Boundaries'.
    Vertically, buildings are scaled in (cubic) meters, but land area and elevations are more often very disproportional. In my 'Earth Relief' map one increment of land in region view is about equal to 1800m, so 5 increments from sea level is the highest point on Earth at near 9000m.   
    There are 62 (62 x 1800m) increments from the bottom of the sea in SC4 to the top of its 3D space, sea level cannot be raised or lowered from its 6 increment setting.  In terms of my 'Relief Map' then 6 x 1800m is the deepest surface below sea level at 10,800m, almost 11 kilometers.  Actual scientific measurements indicate about the same depth.
    Consistently, the top of SC4 space is (62 x 1800) 111,600m, about 112km above the solid surface of the Earth.   Objects below about 160km in orbit are considered to be below "Low Earth Orbit".  The International Space Station orbits at about 3 times the height of SC4 space in the same spherical area defined as the 'Thermosphere' of the Earth.
     INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS:  1.) Launch SC4. In Region View use the Load Region scroll menu to locate and open the region you want. 
     2.) In Region View press CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-R.  You should now have a window in the top-left corner.  
     3.) Navigate to the 'Earth Grayscale Heightmaps' subfolder in the unzipped 'SC4 Earth Maps 256 Grayscale' folder.
     4.) Scroll to the bitmap (.bmp) corresponding to the region you have selected and click 'Okay'.   (The exact file names of the region and map must match)
    The simulator should begin processing the map.  If successful, you will see the region with city layout.  The processing takes from a few minutes to several minutes to complete.

    Region created to match the location Commonlands in the game Everquest2. If you're not familiar with it, the map includes rivers stretching throughout the region, mountains surrounding  the island, and one small bay.
    If you are familiar, hopefully you find it to you're liking. One part I couldn't manage to recreate is the dock area, as the rivers and ocean are the same level, so I couldn't have that cliff leading to the beach. Also Im aware my mountains came out a bit plateau-like. If I make a new version of this map I will fix it.

    I have spent the last week trying to add rivers but end up raising the land level after every render, see the last screen shot. I have tried a few different things with no success, if anyone out there has an idea, please let me know.

Greetings, Finally finished the johto region excuse for the delay but I had a few drawbacks,this region of Pokemon Gold, Silver, Crystal and their remakes Heardgold and SoulSilver Pokemon.   I concede that this is one of my best works but I did my best as this region is very mountainous east, and as I do not use terraformer because'm somewhat distorted. but left images to evaluate the appearance.   also place a few hills to distinguish them from the landscape routes, in addition to using soft mountains near the towns.   punctuation is not great but I hope I will continue working to bring the kanto region the next look.   thanks for stopping by, and I leave my other regions.   Unova:http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/28685-unovateselia-region/   Hoenn:http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/28660-hoenn-region/   And the Sinnoh region made ​​by No Name Maps Teamhttp://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/20377-sinnoh-by-un1/

  22. a maps pack of all the major Legendary Pokémon... using Gimp, using a image to depthmap g'mic plug-in, I was able to make nice maps of Legendary Pokémon... these are all the major Legendary Pokémon... I may upload minor Legendary Pokémon maps later... but for now, enjoy the majors... all the major Legendary Pokémon are included including the Black & White major Legendary Pokémon, including Black Kyurem & White Kyurem...

    to put these into Sim City 4... open the SC4M file in SC4Mapper or SC4Terraformer and save or export the region to your regions folder...

    Description:

    Zurich and environs are located in switzerland.

    The compressor tool was used in terraformer because the real shorelines of Lakes lucerne and Zurich are about 30m apart in elevation; in this map they are 4m apart. Also, the bottom of the valleys below the surface of lake Zurich have consequently been flattened. Although this loses some reality in the valley bottoms, more flat land is gained for building in a manner not too unrealistic; a decent trade in my opinion.

    This huge map is 72km x 80km and made from satellite data. It contains both a standard and a custom config.bmp, please choose only one.
    Map made using satellite data, image editing software, and drunkapple's invaluable advice.

    (I HIGHLY recommend using the high altitude + snow installation of Gobias' Alpine terrain mod found over at sc4d)
