MTP - Mountain Theme Pack

101 Files

  1. The PEG Ski Resort is a collection of semi-modular lots & accessories that allows you to build a realistic Ski Resort Complex in your cities. The Ski resort is designed to supplement the new PEG Snow Mod 2. However, these are bi-seasonal lots that remain year round. They automatically change to a snowy, active ski resort when the Snow Mod in installed...  and revert back to a largely empty off-season snowless look when the Snow Mod is removed.

    * The Snow Mod is not actually required to use these lots. They can remain in the snowless "summer mode"  all year round.
    * This collection was also designed to supplement the MTP. But again, the MTP is not required. The collection is fully self-contained with no outside dependencies.

From the Staff & Members of SimPeg.Com to our Friends & Brothers In Sim at Simtropolis...
    Merry Christmas !!

This all started with a discussion at SimPeg about whether it was possible to make a Ski Resort Chair Lift for the game that actually had cables running from tower to tower, top to bottom... and could be plopped up a sloped hillside. Well, it turns that it is indeed possible.

The heart of the resort is, of course, the Chair Lifts.  There are two... one that runs straight up the mountain and one that runs up diagonally. Each Chair Lifts uses a single, extended model that is approx. 22 tiles long. Yet, they reside on a 2x2 lot. This means that there is actually no lot under the majority of the Chair Lift and you can freely raise or lower the terrain to match the towers, add Mayor Flora props... or even plop other lots.

Beyond what we can see on the surface, the real heart of this collection is the "mojo" that goes on under the hood. Everything is bi-seasonal... snow and no-snow... and automatically transformed when you install or remove the Snow Mod. When installed, the roofs are covered with snow and icicles, skiers are everywhere, parking lots are full... and the resort is alive with activity.  When  the Snow Mod is removed, the snow is gone... and the skiers and cars in the lot along with it. But the resort's facilities remain... in a closed down, boarded-up state as they wait patiently for the next ski season.

Lets unwrap this monster and see what you get:
    1.  The Chair Lifts.
There are 2, normal & diagonal. Complete with base and upper stations. They slope steadily up the mountain and can be used anywhere on your resort.
In Winter, roofs are snow covered,   the chairs are full of skiers.... and there are queue lines of skiers at the base station.
    2. The Ticket Sales Booth.
A combination of ticket sales windows, some admin offices and a small maintenance area. This lot contains a significant number of jobs to represent all the employees that work throughout the resort. Having jobs, it must be plopped at the base or the resort with road access. Has it's own modular parking area.
In  Winter, the roof is snow covered, skiers are lined up to buy tickets... and the parking lot is full during the day.
    3.  The Base Lodge.
A large resort Lodge with snack & dining facilities, restrooms, lockers and all the normal lodge-type facilities. The basic starting point, lunch stop and Apres Ski hangout for all the skiers. Like many real-world resort lodges, the bar & restaurant remain open year-round to extend profitability into the off-season. Also has lots of jobs and modular parking area.
In Winter, the roof is snow covered as are several other horizontal surfaces & bushes, etc, the ski racks are full of skis, skiers are everywhere... and the parking lot is full.
    4. The Ski School.
aka... Snow Plow City. Where newbies and novices learn to become even more dangerous. A 2x2 lot that can be plopped anywhere on or around the Ski Resort.
In Winter, the roof & fence rails are snow covered and skiers line up to learn how to fall down.
    5. Safety Netting.
Three 1x1 lots with the classic orange-red safety netting you see on virtually all ski resorts. The 3 lots include a straight,, a diagonal and a curved netting section. The netting orients to the slope. These lots are year-round and can be plopped anywhere on your resort.
    6. Ploppable Skiers.
Can't have a ski resort without skiers. There are two 1x1 lots that allow you to plop skiers anywhere on your resort. One lot uses the animated skateborder props from the game's skate park so you can have snow boarders carving up the slopes. The other lot uses random static skier props with random chance factors to increase the variations from lot to lot.
In Summer, these lots remain but have no terrain texture and no skier props are visible. The lot menu icons are also hidden when the Snow Mod is not installed.
    7. Snow Paths.
For extra continuity, a new Mayor Flora menu ploppable path textured has been added. The path texture matches the paths used on the various resort lots so you can visually connect them with pathways. This is one of the first, newly developed Terrain Intuitive Textures (T.I.T.s ) that adapts to the underlying terrain. In Summer, the path is dirt. In Winter, it adapts to the snow and becomes a barely visible snow tract.
    8. Ponds & Streams.
Another new Mayor Flora menu ploppable T.I.T texture ... similar to the PPond small water plop.  Can be used to create small ponds and streams. Turns to ice in the Winter.
    9. Player Selectable Resort Signs.
You can choose 1 of 4 different resort signs to be displayed anywhere a sign is used in your resort. BATers can easily design and add their own. Two additional 1x1 lots are provided that use the same selected resort sign style and can be used to plop the resort's main sign anywhere you want... or a billboard version along roadways leading to your resort.

    * All of these lots are Park lots. Some provide Civic Jobs. The Menu icons are all grouped together near the bottom of the Park's Menu.
    * Please consult the included readme file for more detailed information on using this collection.
    * Additional lots for the collection are in development... including Ski Rentals & the essential Half-Way Hut.

    *  Special thanks to the PCG and members of SimPeg.Com for the initial idea & inspiration for this project...  and for the continuous contribution of ideas & laborious testing.

  2. The time has come to clean up your act. Specifically... you now have access to clean, affordable and realistic power for your cities. Its time to stop burning those fossil fuels and irradiating the gene pool and start developing GeoThermal Power Plants in all your cities.
Geothermal energy is abundant... and renewable. The process involves using either direct steam or high-pressure hot water from underground to power steam turbines... which in turn power electric generators. The steam is then condensed back to liquid and pumped back underground where it is super heated to be used again... repeatedly... forever. This is not science fiction. Geothermal power plants are in use today throughout the world.

This 5x4 power plant has all the costs, power output and other properties of a game-default coal fired power plant... but virtually none (1-3%) of the associated pollution. In fact, the only real pollution generated here is when the roach coach rolls in on 2-for-1 burrito day.

This is not a conditional power plant and is always available. Its the cheapest source of power ($0.04 cents per MegaWatt Hour [MWh], in-game) and the cleanest now available. For bringing power to your cities, Geothermal should not only be your first choice... but your only choice!

** This lot requires the PEG Security Fencing Kit
**This lot also requires PEG MTP Super Pack

  3. Add a new and more rustic/rural look to your cities with the Rural Roadways Mod. Designed for use with the MTP but certainly useful in any city where you'd rather have a slightly less developed look, this mod changes the appearance of your streets and roads in several ways.
For starters, all sidewalks are removed and replaced with dirt edges or shoulders. In place of the wealth/density generated colored sidewalks & grassy parkways, the streets and roads themselves now change to match the surrounding wealth. Intersections change from having simple stop lines in non-developed and low density areas... to having crosswalks in medium wealth/density zones... and brick in-laid crosswalks in the upscale areas.
For the streets, you now have three options to choose from for the lowest wealth/density zones which include the streets around farmlands. You have the choice of asphalt streets,  gravel roads or dirt roads. Again, these are only in the lowest wealth/density zones so the normal asphalt streets will still appear in normally developed areas. Its almost like adding a new street/road type.
The mod is broken down into several files so you can easily choose which features you want installed. Streets and roads are broken down into 2 basic files so you can install either one... or both. For both the road & street mods, there are separate & optional "No Text" mods which removes the "STOP" text from the intersections. Obviously, if you live in a Spanish speaking country you would prefer to have El Stoppo or whatever the Spanish word for 'stop' is. In France, "Ceasez-Vous" might be preferable... although a tad hard to squeeze into the limited space. The No-Text mod simply removes the text... the next best thing.
For the streets, the default mod uses asphalt streets in all wealth & density zones. The optional Dirt & Gravel mods change only the type of street used in undeveloped, low wealth/density & farmland zones. The Dirt streets really look great in and around farms but have a more abrupt transition to paved surfaces. The Gravel roads blend well with all other roadway types and work best in areas where the road surface type changes frequently.
    * For optimum effect, it is recommended that the RoadsNoGrass.dat file from the Swamper77 Street and Road Sidewalk Mod also be installed. Swamper's mod will remove the sidewalks from the diagonal road tiles... which the Rural Roadways mod does not cover.
** This mod has no dependencies.
**This file currently contains an .exe installer suitable for windows users.  These files are in the process of being updated with zip files and this message will be removed once the update is complete.

  4. The Eternal Rewards Pack is a collection of chapels & churches designed to supplement... and optionally replace... the game-default & non-denominational Houses of Worship (HOWs). The pack includes conditional & non-conditional variations... as well as separate versions for the MTP. Each variant & version is in a separate file so you can control which to have installed or not.

    * These are decidedly Christian Churches. They are not intended to offend or exclude any single person or specific faith. Nor are they designed to appeal to followers of all faiths and religions. Any posted comments intended to incite debate, will be removed. Think of these like fast food joints. If I make a McDonald's it doesn't mean that I also have to make a Burger King.  ;-)

The Eternal Rewards Pack contains the following:
    1. Default Replacements - Four new church lots that directly replace the originals. These have the same reward requirements and function exactly like the original reward chain in that they will become available one-at-a-time at different growth stages of your city. There can also be only one of each church in any city. These churches use the same icon as the default rewards
    * Note - The first 3 churches have the same 3x3 lot size as the default versions. The 4th church is a larger 4x5 lot. Any instances of the original rewards already existing in your cities will have to be replopped

    2. MTP Versions - Four new church lots for use with the MTP. These also function like the originals but have reduced requirements for the generally smaller populations of MTP & rural cities. These churches use a unique icon that should appear directly below the game-default HOW icon(s) in the Reward menu.

    * Note - Icons for these conditional rewards will not appear until you have earned them. They are part of a reward chain and you will receive messages from your Advisors (if activated) when they become available.

    3. Sand Box Version - The same four default replacement lots... except they have been modified to be non-conditional and you can plop as many of each as you want. But be advised that unlike the conditional rewards, these have a plop and monthly maintenance cost.... similar to that of a large park. Other properties are similar to a large park as well... but they are technically Civic buildings and their costs will be reflected in the Government Budget Window. These churches use a unique icon that should appear directly below the game-default icons in the Reward menu.
    * Note - All four of the icons for these non-conditional "sand box" versions will always be visible and available in the Rewards menu.

    4. MTP Sand Box Version - The same four MTP version lots... except they too have been modified to be non-conditional and you can plop as many of each as you want. They also have  plop and monthly maintenance costs.... similar to that of a large park.
    * Note - These also have a unique icon that will always be visible and available in the Rewards menu.

Except for the first available variation/level of each version, these lots have also had jobs added to them... so you will need to ensure they have a road connection. The 1st variation of each version remains jobless so it can be plopped remotely or along non-functional roads.

** The MTP versions of these lots require the
    MTP Super Pack.

  5. Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water... they change the freakin' water!!
The new PEG PPond Kit  will  allow you to customize the look of your cities in ways you have yet begun to imagine. More than just ploppable water, the PPond Kit is a vast collection of ploppable props you can use to "super detail" any part of your city... on any terrain... be it totally flat or a sculpted masterpiece. Take the phone off the hook and lock the door.  You're gonna be busy for quite a long time.
The PPond Kit is a collection of both Mayor Flora Menu ploppable props and normal ploppable lots. It includes everything you need to "paint" realistic lakes, rivers and streams all over your cities... including waterfalls and ponds with lilly pads & cattails. Custom lots are also included to add animated sparkle effects to the water... and turbulence effects & sound at the bottom of waterfalls and dams.
Ploppable water is nothing new... but it has always had the one drawback of looking unrealistic along the barren shoreline where water meets grass. That is no longer an issue. The PPond Kit includes a large collection of ploppable shoreline props, including pebble, sand and mossy textures... along with rocks and boulders... that can be plopped or painted, overlayed and mixed together to easliy create amazingly detailed shorelines. Just plop or hold down the mouse button and paint... no terrain editing required.
All of the Shoreline props pull double duty as they are not limited to use along waterways. They can be used anywhere to add extra features to your terrain and even freely paint pathways through your parks and forests. Your imagination is the only limit.*
    * There are actually other limits. We just said that there weren't because its such a catchy phrase... and its good marketing.
The list of what you can do with this kit is just too extensive to discuss here...  In the mean time, here is a list of the items included with this initial package:
    Flora Menu Ploppables:
    1. 1x Water Tile.
Use this to plop water anywhere in your city. Hold down the mouse button and drag to literally "paint" water onto the terrain. The tile is very slope tolerant and can be used to paint streams down mountain sides. For lakes and ponds, level terrain is best.
    2. 1/4 Water Tile.
Smaller version of the Water Tile... for those hard to reach spaces.
    3. 1x Water Tile with Water Lillies.
Use this to plop Water Lillies anywhere in your lakes or ponds. Hold down the mouse button and drag to literally "paint" Water Lillies onto the terrain.
    4. 1/4 Water Tile with Cattails.
Use this to plop Cattails along your shore lines. Single click for one clump or hold down the mouse button and literally "paint" Cattails all along your shores.
    5. Shore Tile - Pebble.
Use this to paint a pebble shoreline along your water. Use single click to create a thinner, semi-transparent effect, or click twice (or paint) to create a more opaque effect.  All Shore & Rock props orient to slopes and can be used anywhere to add extra texture to your terrain. Very useful for plopping along the edges of lots that do not blend well with the terrain. Can be used to paint pathways.
    6. Shore Tile - Mossy.
Use this to paint a mossy shoreline along your water.  Can be used to add a mossy/small flora texture almost anywhere on the terrain.
    7. Shore Tile - Sandy.
Use this to paint a sandy shoreline along your water. Slightly smaller in size and designed specifically to also paint pathways through forests, etc.
    8. Shore Tile - Small
A smaller and darker version of the Shore Tile. Very useful for dragging along the edge of other Shore Tiles where they meet the water to create a 3D effect.
    9. Rock Cluster - Small
A ploppable cluster of small rocks to add extra texture to your shorelines.
    10. Rocks - Small
A collection of 5 rocks, ranging from very small to not-as-small. The first click plops a smallest rock. Each subsequent click on the same rock replaces it with a larger sized rock.
    11. Boulders
A collection of 5 boulders, ranging from small to huge. The first click plops a small boulder. Each subsequent click on the same boulder replaces it with a larger sized boulder. The 2 largest boulders do not orient to the slope.
    Important:
Most shore and rock props have the ability to overlay each other to some degree.... allowing them to be plopped close together or cluster to create combined effects and textures. Using the click and drag paint method usually negates this clustering effect as it covers the area of terrain fully with the painted prop. By carefully limiting the various props in a specific area with slightly offset single click placement, there can be room between props to plop other props, such as rocks or the PEG Ploppable Flora, trees, etc...
    Park Menu Ploppable Lots
    1. 1x Water Tile.
Use this to plop a full 1x1 water tile. The lot contains the Sparkles animated effect. Ideal for plopping several of these in mid river or in lakes to add a little sparkle and life to your water. Must be plopped on level terrain.
    2. 1x Turbulence Tile.
A 1x1 water tile with animated turbulence effects along one edge. For use at the bottom of dams and waterfalls. Must be plopped on level terrain.
    3. 1x2  Water Fall.
Use this to add waterfalls of any height and width to your rivers and streams. Plop with the orientation arrow pointing down; one tile on the level top of the waterfall and the other tile on the slope. The top of the waterfall must be perfectly level.
    4. 1x Dam Output.
A special 1x1 water tile designed for the PEG Small Hydroelectric Dam. This water tile has 3 horizontal jets of water and was designed for the left-side/bottom of the dam to simulate water coming from the output pipes of the dam.  Must be plopped on level terrain.
** These lots have no dependencies.

  6. Let it snow, Let it snow... Let it Snow!! The PEG Snow Mod has been completely revamped and updated to turn your cities into Winter Wonderlands. All the old separate mods have been updated and combined into a single download that will install everything into a single folder. Just move that folder in or out of your Plugins folder to turn the snow on or off. Everything is automatic. No need to bulldoze or replop. Just install the mod, fire up the game... and see your cities instantly transformed with a completely new look.

There's plenty of new mojo under the hood, Boys & Girls. Not only has the number of converted textures tripled, the mod now turns off or changes many props and lots to snow covered versions. Trees get covered in snow, ponds freeze over to ice... and seasonal flowers and shrubs go away until you decide that Winter is over and Spring should be sprung.

A large part of the mod is dedicated to converting MTP material. But if you do not use the MTP, fear not. Everything is in separate files and you can easily remove any part of the mod that you don't need or want to use.

The mod focuses on soft textures (grass & dirt, etc) and leaves most of the hard surfaces (concrete & asphalt, etc) as they are to create that "snowed on but shoveled" look. The game will remain fully playable as you can still see roadways and other transit routes... and undeveloped zones will still be visible.
Lets unwrap this puppy and see what you get:
    1.  The Main Mod.
Contains  snow versions of the game default textures and terrain textures.
    2. The MTP Patch Mod.
Contains snow versions of custom MTP textures. Also includes some extra mojo to modify certain MTP props and lots.
    3.  The Flora Fix.
Turns off various game-default flowers you normally wouldn't see in the snow. Changes bushes to snow covered versions. Also converts game-default trees to winter versions; pines to snow covered pines and leafy trees to snowy leafless winter trees. Palm trees are converted to snowy pines.
    4. Snow Covered Trees.
Turns the PEG Pines into snow covered versions. Separate files for both the old and new  versions of the trees.
    5. Seasonal Tree Patch.
Forces the PEG Seasonal Trees to remain in their winter state.
    6. Mayor Flora Patch.
Hides many of the PEG Mayor Flora menu ploppable props, such as super-detailing terrain textures, that do not look good with snow. It also hides the menu icons so you can't accidental plop what you can't see.
    7. MTP Rural Avenue, Road & Street  Patches.
Separate patch files to make the MTP Rural Avenue, Road & Street mods blend better with the snow.
    8. MTP Plaza Patch.
Replaces the lot-sized plaza models with snow-covered versions. Iced over fountains, snowy trees & planters. Even the fence posts and rails are topped with snow.
    9. OWW2 Patch.
Converts the trees and parkways of the OWW2, Marina and Seaport Village lots to snow covered versions.
    10. Diagonal Network Patch.
Converts the straight sections of diagonal roads and avenues to not have the "zig-zag" staircase appearance when lots or zones are placed next to them.

    * Please consult the included readme file for more detailed information about each file included in the mod.

    * Please note that the Snow Mod creates a snow-covered effect by converting game ground textures to snow versions. While this mod converts all game-default and PEG custom textures to snow versions, it is not possible to also include snow versions of custom textures provided by other developers. However, the required base & overlay textures required to convert other textures can be copied from the mod and used by any developer who wishes to make compatible snow versions of their own textures.
** This file has no direct dependencies. However...
the MTP patches require the installation of the
    various MTP components they modify.

  7. The family owned Timber Lumber Co. has been in operation since the late 1880s. Its been updated over the years but most of the original structure appears as it did when it was originally constructed. With facilities to receive logs both by truck and by rail, the Saw Mill is able to process trees brought in from distant sources... which of course will lead to additional Logging Industry lots in this series.

Literally taking about 3 years to complete, this is most definately the most detailed model I have ever produced. Unfortunately, many of those details... such as pull strings on the window shades and handles on the fire exstingushers... are just too small to be noticable after rendering for the game. But they are still there... and along with the larger, more visible details... add to the final appearance of the model.

The Saw Mill lot is a 5x8 ploppable IND-M lot that will self-level itself when plopped. It provides jobs and income from taxes. The mill does produce pollution... but not much compared to other industries... and the impact is limited to the local area. The mill is in full compliance with all regulations set forth by the governing environmental agencies.
The lot is transit enabled for both street and rail. The street connection is visual only... to allow streets to connect to the lot's entrance. There are two rail connections to the lot but onlty one of them is functional. The siding that runs the full length of the lot (seen on the far right of the screen shots) is functional for all rail types and will allow both passenger and freight rail to pass through the lot. However, you should ideally connect this as a siding from your mainline to avoid trains running through the train cars on the siding. The other rail connection to the lot deadends inside the mill and it provides a visual rail connection only.
    Features of the lot include:
    * Extensive night lighting.
    * Timed props that appear & disappear through the day to enhance a feeling of activity.
*New custom rural streetlight (to be released seperately as an MTP mod).
    * Animated smoke from the stack.
*Custom query with rotating custom query sound effects.
    * Numerous new custom rail, vehicle & logging props designed for the Logging Industry series of lots.
    * The Logging Industry lots were designed for the MTP but have been engineered to have a minimal dependence on it. The goal is to allow players to use these lots in any non-urban setting/city without the need to move the required files in and out of the Plugins folder when switching between different city types or styles. These lots and the MTP dependency files can remain in your Plugins folder without affecting non-MTP themed cities.
    * No trees were harmed during the development of this lot.

** This lot requires installation of the MTP SUPER PACK
and the MTP Logging Industry RESOURCE

  8. Big John's Mine was started by a group of mine disaster survivors and named after the man who sacrificed his life to save them. Still following the original vein discovered in 1887, Big John's Mine continues to turn a tidy profit for its owners & providing jobs for local inhabitants. Sure, mining is a dirty industry but small old mines such as Big John's often spared the landscape of the scars inflicted by large pit and hydraulic mining operations.
This lot uses the PEG Ore Car props that simulate a shuffling effect as cars generally appear early in the day, fill up, move around and often are gone after nightfall. This lot is also transit enabled for rail as well as road traffic. The UI sound effect is lengthy... an often annoying PEG trademark... but it does help set the mood.  Enjoy..

  9. This latest addition to the MTP allows you to extend your Pine Trail over narrow canyons and ravines with the classic (and always scarier than Hell) Sway or Rope bridge. Yes, now you too can have one of those rickety old rope bridges you've seen in almost every adventure movie.
The actual lot is a 1x1 Pine Trail section that includes an offset rendered rope bridge that extends out and crosses any 3 tile wide canyon. (1 level wide at the bottom, plus the 2 sloped tiles). On the opposite side, the bridge will visually connect with any other normal Pine Trail lot.
You do not have to worry about any fussy terrain editing as the bridge will accommodate canyons of any height... provided that the total span is 3 tiles wide. The readme file includes some basic terrain editing tips for those who are unfamiliar with it.
As the bridge is actually just an extended prop, you can plop anything you want under the bridge. It will not interfere with road or rail traffic and looks especially good spanning rivers and streams. Vicious, man-eating Crocodiles not included.

  10. Geothermal power has finally come to your mountain/rural community. Virtually pollution free, this mid-sized power plant is a realistic power source and ideal for meeting the lower power needs of smaller, remote communities.
This power plant is modeled after the real-world Wineagle Geothermal Power Plant near Susanville, California. That plant went on-line in 1985 and has operated reliably at 98% capacity ever since then. Monitored by a computer, the plant is unmanned. The computer initiates a call to a technician if maintenance or repairs are required.
Priced at §2,000, with a monthly cost of §60 and an output of 1,000 MWh, this plant produces power at an affordable §.06 per kWh.

    * Compare with the coal power plant at §10,000 / §250, 6,000 MWh and §.04 per kWh.

In-game power output values are skewed from reality, so this power plant's output & costs have been adjusted accordingly to compare with the default game power plants.

    * To produce the 200 MWh of the game's single wind turbine power plant in the real world, a entire wind farm spread out over 20 kilometers would be required.

The lot is 2x4 tiles in size... and designed to have the appearance of an irregular, non-rectangular shape... which will be a new trend for MTP lots where applicable. The lot should be plopped on fairly level ground and looks great when situated on a prepared site amid rolling hills or along side winding mountain roads.

** This lot requires the following dependencies
    PEG MTP Super Pack
    PEG Security Fencing

  11. By request, the PEG Rural Rail Station is a basic passenger railroad station in an older, rural wrapper. It has the same  properties as the game's default passenger station.
Other than visually, the primary difference with the Rural Rail Station is that it is smaller at only 2x2 tiles in size. The Taxi Maker occupant group has also been removed to prevent the station from spawning and endless line of taxi cabs. Generally, taxi service in rear-world rural areas is either non-existent or a quaint novelty.

  12. If you can't go over or around... go under.
This is a collection of 4 culvert style lots for the PEG PPonds. Three of the 4 lots are for use with the Mayor Menu ploppable PEG PPond Kit ploppable props for creating streams and rivers. The 4th lot is for use with the PEG-PPond Channel/Canal lots. Collectively, these lots will allow you to add additional realism and character to your PPond rivers, streams and canals.
All of the lots are 1x1 in size. They are technically Park lots... but have no park-like particles added. The Canal Culvert appears in the Water Transportation menu along with the other PPond Channel lots. The stream culverts appear in the Parks menu along with the PPond ploppable lots.
The Canal Culvert is designed to be plopped on level land. The stream Culverts, however, can be plopped either on level land or on terrain that has been recessed for a stream or river. On recessed terrain, the culverts will blend in with the sloped terrain and be partially covered by it. The models have been designed to allow close placement of ploppable terrain props, such as plants and rocks & earth textures...  to help blend them in visually with the surrounding terrain.
The culverts can be plopped singularly... or in pairs on either side of a roads or rails, etc...
** These lots have no direct dependencies...
but are designed for use with the:
PEG PPond Kit and the PEG-PPond Canal Kit

  13. This is a MTP compliant update to the PEG God-mode Pine Tree mod. It allows you to mass-plop PEG Pines in God mode instead of the game-default trees.
God Mode flora/trees are divided into 3 different stages based on altitude. By default, the lower elevation trees are oaks, the middle level are pines, and the higher elevation is scrub brush. This package actually contains two mods; 1 that replaces the lower elevation oaks with the PEG Pines... and a second mod that replaces the middle level default pines with the PEG Pines.
You can use the two mods together to replace all God Mode trees with PEG Pines... or you can use either one separately to replace only a single elevation type default tree... either the oaks or the default pines.
    ** IMPORTANT NOTICE **
The BSC_NewmanIncCoalMine lot contains a file named BSC_PropPack_Pegasus_Vol01a.dat which contains the older version models of these trees. You must delete this prop pack file from your Plugins folder. Doing so will not affect the coal mine lot. However, if that prop pack remains installed, it can cause the small brown packages to appear instead of the tree props... in this mod as well as many other lots that use these trees.

    PEG MTP Super Pack

  14. Bringing new meaning to the modern term, "Old School"... this Old School House was designed for the MTP and can be used in any mountainous or rural area. This small elementary school is typical of thousands of  schools built in remote communities... some well over 100 years ago. Many are still in operation today.
The Old School House sits on a slightly larger lot; 2x3 as opposed to 2x2. It is a functional alternative to the game's default small/elementary school. It share's the same costs, capacities and other properties... except for coverage range, which has been increased significantly to more realistically represent the larger areas that schools in remote communities cover. Ideally, we would also have reduced the number of students it could handle.... but the game makes it non-functional if the capacity is altered.
The lot also features modified playground props that appear several times per day instead of just once. You will see lots of activity & play before school starts, during lunch recess, and after school.
The school itself will handle a modest degree of slope. However, the playground props will not so the lot should be plopped on a prepared site of fairly level land.

  15. "Down in the valley... the valley so low.   Hang your head over.... Let your lunch go!!"
By request... we have added 4 new MTP style lots to add along your remote roadways or incorporate into your Mountain Trail system. These scenic look-outs will add an extra realistic feel to your blossoming mountainous and rural regions. No detail has been "overlooked" [drum hit]... including the prerequisite stone mounted plaque (recycled ranger station sign) that always recounts that here, on this spot, at some time, long ago, someone, did something note worthy. Thus, the plaque!
The lots are designed to be plopped along the top of moderately steep cliffs. The viewing decks will extend over the edge  and their foundations/supports will blend in with the face of the cliff. There are 4 lots in total; 2 for use with the PEG Mountain Trails and 2 for general use along any roadways. Additionally, there are 2 different styles of viewing decks; a standard straight deck and an "L" shaped deck for use on corners. The straight decks are part of a random prop family that includes 5 different styles of  foundations/supports.
Most of the lots provide some sort of rest-stop/picnic facilities. The straight roadside lot features an asphalt parking area that is transit enabled for a seamless connection to any adjacent roadway. All of the lots are very similar to a normal Mountain Trail lot with mild park & landmark properties and very little monthly maintenance costs. Lot sizes range from 1x1 to 2x2.
    * The 2 different types of lots, Roadside & Mountain Trail, are contained in separate files so can easily remove either one if you choose not to use it. The Mountain Trail lots will appear in the Parks Menu, along with the other Mountain Trail lots. The roadside lots will appear in the Misc. Transportation Menu below the MTP Parking Lot lots..

  16. This mod adds many new Terrain props to your Mayor Flora menu that you can use for Terrain Detailing and to further enhance the look of your PPond waterways. Although they are designed to expand the collection of ploppable terrain and shore props included with the PPond Kit, these props can be used anywhere in your cities to add extra detail to your terrain. The PPond Kit is not required in order to use these ploppable props.

    Whats Included:
    1. Wild Flowers - Four wild flower textures that can be plopped anywhere to add a splash of natural color to your terrain. Semi-transparent and easily overlayed to create small patches of flowers as thick or thin, large or small, as you want. We refer to them as Daisies, "Vandy" Lions, Prairie Rose & Poppies (white, yellow, purple & orange) but they can be any type of flowers you wish them to be.
    2. Grasses - Two new grassy textures to add a little extra green to any area. Looks good down by the water or to help blend in barren rocky areas with the grassy terrain. Can be "painted" on thickly to created lush lawns or fields of grass. Comes in a lighter Grass texture and a darker Clover texture.
    3. Leaves - Similar to the grassy textures... but in a shade of brown that can be used to add the look of fallen leaves and foliage in any area. Looks good under trees. Can also be used as a dirt path or to add light patches of dirt to any grassy area. Very flexible with lots of potential uses.
    4. Ballast - A gravel texture designed to add the ballast along rail lines that the game forgot. In a brownish tone to match the dirt shoulders and edges of the PEG Rail textures and the MTP Road, Street & Avenue mods. Can be used to create paths or anywhere that a brownish gravel is desired.
    5. Rip-Rap - A dark, rocky texture of the type commonly seen along waterfronts, harbors and breakwaters. Can be plopped underwater. Useful for adding a "man was here" look to terrain along your coastlines.
    6. Sand  - Simpy referred to as "Sand 2", this is an extra, slightly darker version of the Sand  texure included with the PPond Kit.

    7. Gravel  - A texture similar to the Pebble texture, but smaller and denser.
    8. Weeds  - In rotating groups of 5.. both lush green & dead brown... ranging from small to large and clumps. Ideal for adding that "natural" (ie... neglected) look to your terrain. The green weeds also double as reeds along waterways. Both groups can be "planted" in rows to simulate crops. The taller weeds look very much like corn plants.
    9. Dead Trees  - A rotating collection of 5 dead trees... ranging in size from a small bush to a tall, naked pine. Also includes a large dead oak and a fallen dead pine. We sorta hate to put anything dead in our beautiful forests. But lightning sucks & trees can't duck. It happens. Get over it. And yes... when  a tree falls in the forest, it makes one Hell of a racket... no matter who's around to hear it.

    * The various ploppable props are grouped into separate files so you can easily remove certain groups of props if you do not want to use them.
    * These files also include normal (non-ploppable) versions of the props so they can be used in the Lot Editor on your own custom lots.
    ** No dependencies.

  17. The  MTP  Corner Shop is a collection of growable small stores that will develop only on corners. Accordingly, they effectively have 2 front-sides to face each side of the intersecting roads.

The lots are 2x2 CS$$ and will develop in all densities. There are 3 different styles of the basic design in a random building family...  that will appear on 3 different variations of the lot. This means there are 9 possible combinations of the building and lot that will randomly develop in your cities.

Furthermore, there are 3 versions of the lot for each development stage 1 - 4... with each stage in a separate file. This will allow the player to better control when and how often these lots will develop by simply removing any of the 4 stage files.  Corner lots are notoriously shy about developing, so this duplication for each stage is intended to increase the odds that they will develop. If you find that they start appearing too often, simply remove 1 or 2 of the separate stage files.

    * The package also includes a 2x2 RCI CS$$ ploppable version which can be found in your Landmarks menu. This version uses a different lot design but is still intended for plopping on corners. This could be very useful when you can't get a growable version to develop precisley where you want one. The ploppable version is also in a separate file and can be removed in not wanted.

** This lot requires installation of the MTP Mountain Theme Pack.

  18. This PEG MTP Series MOD adds 6 new ploppable Logging Props & Scenes to your Mayor Menu... all accessible from a single, cyclable menu icon. From a single tree stump prop to fully detailed modelramas, these no-cost, ploppable forest accessories can add life and character to your forests. Mix and match and create any size of a logging operation you want.
The mod is fully self contained. You do not need to install any particular tree mod or style. Nor do any of the scenes contain any tree models so they can be used with any God or Mayor Mode tree mod without having incompatible tree types together.
Although there are 6 different scenes to choose from...you will find only one icon in your Mayor Menu. After clicking on the icon and plopping the scene, additional clicks on the plopped scene will cycle through the other available scenes. It may require a few extra clicks to get the exact scene that you want, but this menu cycling method should keep your Mayor Menu from getting overly cluttered.

    PLEASE NOTE:

If the larger scenes will not fit in the area you are trying to plop them, you will not be able to click-cycle to them. In this instance, you can only cycle through the smaller scenes that fit in that location. An easy solution to this is to bulldoze the nearby trees, plop the desired scene, then go back with the Mayor Mode menu and replop single trees around the scene.

The cycling effect is not repetitive. Once you have cycled to the last item, additional clicks will have no effect.
** No real trees were harmed in the development or implementation of this mod. All trees depicted in the screen shots were hugged hourly... per their contract. PEG Loggers only remove trees that have died of natural causes or have been mortally injured and are suffering.
In some instances as required, some trees are tagged by the Forestry Service for removal based on certain criteria that includes; Trees that are ugly, mean or stupid, Trees that drop leaves, needles or squirrel poop into the pool of the Director of the Forestry Service, Trees that hug back... and Trees with a demonstrated root fetish for sewer pipes.

  19. Our second offering in the Rural Trackside Series, the PEG Rural Freight Station is a simple freight station with a rustic look designed to match the rural passenger station.  It has the same  basic properties and costs as the game's default freight station.
Other than visually, the primary difference with the Rural Rail Station is that it is smaller at only 2x2 tiles in size. It's transit properties have also been patched to increase efficiency by allowing rail-to-truck transition as well as truck-to-rail transition.
The small parking lot/loading area is transit enabled. If connected to your road network, you will see freight trucks from nearby factories pull in, drive slowly by the docks as if unloading, and drive off again.

  20. Next on the MTP Hit Parade is this small, Urgent Care Clinic designed for use in remote, mountainous & rural areas. As with all MTP civic 'alternatives', it has an expanded coverage range to more realistically represent the type of coverage provided in large, sparsely populated areas.
All other properties are identical to the game's default medical clinic. The lot remains at the default 1x2 lot size... and should be plopped  on fairly flat land for best appearance.
The model is 'nite-lited' and contains some interior detailing. The lot uses the random cabin smoke prop and introduces a new custom parking lot texture.

  21. This  PEG MTP Series  Mayor Mod adds 7 new Forest Scenes to your Mayor Menu. All scenes are click-cyclable from a single Mayor Menu icon.
    Included in this collection:
    -  A single Picnic Table.
    - A complete Picnic Area.
    - A small Shack or Storage Shed.
    - A Fire Watrch Tower.
    - An old Donkey Engine.
    - Everyone's favorite... The Moonshine Still.
    - And everyone's other favorite... Skinny Dippers in Hot Spring sauce.

    * Donkey engines were small steam engines... named after the donkeys they replaced.  They were commonly used in old logging and mine operatrions, primarily as power winches to move heavy objects such as logs and equiptment. Normally, they were mounted on large, wooden skids that allowed them to be easily moved around by horses, other donkey engines.. or even by themselves.  Most were abandoned when the operations closed down and many can still be found out in the woods in various stages of decay.
    * The Fire Watch Tower has an underground foundation that allows it to plop well on most sloped terrain.    The foundation will "dig in" and blend realistically on most slopes or uneven terrain.
    * The Moonshine Still has its own terrain on part of the scene... and like most of these scenes, should not be plopped on steep slopes. And yes... that is me diligently standing guard over the operation.
Although there are 5 different sizes/styles of tree... you will find only one icon in your Mayor Menu.  After clicking on the icon and plopping the tree, additional clicks on the plopped tree will cycle through the other available trees. It may require  a few extra clicks to get the exact tree that you want,  but this menu cycling method should keep your Mayor Menu from getting overly cluttered.

  22. For your nostalgic pleasure... an old stream mill... for your Old Mill Stream. If you are old enough to know the song, so much the better.
I hope you have Dental... 'cause this baby is pure candy. It delightfully takes pleasure in serving absolutely no functional purpose whatsoever... other than to just look cool along your rivers and streams.
Water mills have been in use since Ancient times. However, by the early 20th century, availability of cheap electrical energy made the water mill obsolete in developed countries although some smaller rural mills continued to operate commercially into the 1960s. Used in their day to power a wide range of machinery for various industrial purposes, those mills that remain today have either been abandoned, maintained as tourist attractions, or have been updated or re-purposed for some other function.
This lot is a park... located in your Park menu... with a fair amount of landmark value as old water mills such as this are tourist magnets. The lot is 2x2 tiles in size and requires power for the nitelites.  It is designed to be plopped on level land... with the 2 water tiles in front of it also level with the lot.
Although considered to be a 'PPond' lot, it does not require the PPond Kit as a dependency. The mill can be used with any ground-level ploppable water props.
I lied about the non-functional bit. There is a semi-functional second, RCI Industrial Manufacturing ploppable version with jobs that is also included in this package. That version is located in your Landmarks menu and requires road access.

    * The lot(s) are nitelited and include custom queries... and custom background & query sound effects. In the query for the IND-M version, the 'Revolutions Per Minute" stat will increase as your city grows.

  23. Created by request, the Pine Trail Railroad Crossing is a simple, 1x1  lot that visually extends the Pine Trails over railroad tracks. In effect, it is no more than a single tile lot that is transit enabled for both freight & passenger rail.
However, with the game's default "dirt" underlying the rail road tracks everywhere in the game, there was no way to get this lot to look quite right. Thus spawned a collective effort  for a means to improve the appearance of the railroad tracks.
The result of that collective effort, is the SWAMPER-PEG No Rail Dirt Mod, which was initially released on the STEX along with Swamper77's OneWay Railroad Crossings Mod ... and is also included in this archive. As is pictured above, the No Rail Dirt Mod eliminates the dirt texture under the railway tracks... which doesn't look bad on straight sections, but looked like chunky Hell on diagonal sections and turns and turnouts.
The side effect to this mod is that is also removes the underlying dirt that appears on streets adjacent to farm and landfill zones. On those tiles, between the road and the sidewalk,  the true underlying terrain (usually grass) is visible instead of the dirt. Its barely noticeable and not objectionable in appearance, but a side effect none-the-less.

  24. This is an MTP update to the previous Forest Pack 1. It has been upgraded to use the MTP blended forest floor texture on the textured version of each lot. Additionally, the Loggers lot has been converted to be the initial step/lot in the upcoming LOgging Industry reward chain.
This Forest Add-On pack includes several lots to add visual variety & realism to your woodlands. All lots include both textured and transparent ground versions and can be used with any woods/forest styles. All lots act as small parks and are conveniently grouped together in your Parks menu above the Random Woods lots.
The Meadow lots, with both 1x1 and 2x2 sized versions, can be very useful to stagger the edges of your tree lines and add those open areas and clearings that are common in real world woodlands.
The Logger lots add a visual sense of function and purpose to your woodlands and will serve as part of the reward chain for several Logging Industry lots.
The Hot Springs (rated PG-13 for Brief Nudity) adds a soothing and restful secret spot for your Sims to shed their everyday troubles... as well as their clothing.
The Hunting Lodges (Yes, plural. There are three in a random prop family), utilize a modeling technique that allows the building to adapt more realistically to sloped terrain. The cabin's foundation and stairways will adjust to the slope of the lot without the use of a separate foundation model or relying on the game's forced lot leveling or big, ugly  concrete blocks under the structure.
The Hunting Lodges use lanterns for night lighting and do not require power... so you can plop them way out in the boonies. You will also see gentle wisps of smoke rising from their chimneys.
All PEG Mountain Theme Pack lots are PEG PCG tested & Tree-Hugger approved. Each lot has properties similar to a small green park with slightly improved air pollution qualities. These lots are also 'Slope Conforming' so you can place them almost anywhere.

  25. The Problem: You have developed a nice mountain terrain complete with beautiful trees & flowing streams... and not a soul in sight. Nor will there ever be unless you want suburban tract houses or urban tenements cluttering up the mountainside. There are very few growable RCI lots in the game that look right in a mountain or rural community... and no way to guaranty that those lots will develop in any zones you lay down.
The Solution: The PEG Mountain Theme Growable Lots. These are a series of RES, COM & IND growable lots designed specifically for mountain/rural communities. By using unique, custom sized lots, we can assure that only these lots will grow in the zones you lay down in your mountains. Now you can create mountain communities with functional & occupied buildings that look like they belong in the mountains. Cut back on the eye-candy and let some real RCI go to work in them thar' hills.
In order to have growable lots specific to the Mountain Theme, we have used 2x5, 3x5 & 5x5 custom lot sizes. Ordinary, game-default RES lots will not grow on custom lots of this size. The player must create custom zones of this size... which is easy to do by holding down the CTRL key while using the mouse to drag out the zone size.
This first set is a collection of 9 new lots that are primarily low wealth, zoned for various densities and feature 4 random log cabins. Because larger, custom lot sizes are required, several cabins are spaced out on the lot to represent several homes occupying the area. The resident values have been adjusted upwards to reflect the number of homes on each lot.
Additionally, these lots are designed to accommodate the sloped terrain of mountainous areas. The cabin models are designed with extended foundations that merge into sloped terrain.... so instead of a building on top of a concrete block, you get cabins that merge realistically into the  hillside.
The lots use random building & prop families so the cabins will always be different on each lot. The cabins also use a new feature, Random Smoke... so you will see smoke coming from their chimneys at different times of the day.
    * The MTP Growable RES lots are part of a much larger & expanding theme. These are not just simple "install and hope they grow" lots.  These lots are part of a full-cycle residential community spanning all density types... that will grow and update into newer, wealthier versions of themselves.
