  1. This patch will remove the background music from the Chicken Ranch lot for those who have had enough. The patch includes two "No Music" version files, one for the ploppable lot and one for the growable. Just replace the existing lot .dat files with these files, and the lot's background music will no longer play.

** Do not remove or replace the lot's RESOURCE file. **

  2. This Confederate Battery collection includes all the props required to create a battery including the cannon, gun crews, limbers, and the caissons, which contrary to the song, do not actually keep rolling along.

    * Limbers were 2 wheeled carts used to carry powder and shot for the cannon. Typically, Union Limbers were drawn by 6 horses. Due to limited resources, Confederate Limbers were usually drawn by only 4 horses. When on the move, the limbers were guided by riders who sat on the left side of the paired  horses.

    * Caissons were larger 2 wheel carts that attached to the rear of the limbers. Like the limbers, they also carried powder & shot for the cannon.

    * The Cannon were properly referred to as "Guns". A variety of gun types were used by both sides but the most common was the 6 pounder and the 12 pounder Napolean. Both were smooth-bore cannon. The guns were attached to the rear of a limber when transported.

    * Collectively, the cannon was referred to as "Artillery". Artillery was divided into units known as "Batteries".  Most Union Batteries consisted of 6 guns whereas a 4 gun Battery was more common for the Confederates. Typically, 2-3 batteries were assigned to each brigade of infantry.

    * The Battery was commanded by a captain; each section (a pair of guns) was commanded by a lieutenant. A section often operated as an independent unit for small-scale operations. Each gun was under the command of a sergeant, with two corporals, one the gunner and the other in charge of the caisson. Though only seven or eight cannoneers were necessary to serve a piece, it took 25 to 30 men to keep a single gun in the field and in operating condition.

  4. Carnage is nature's way of saying, "War Sucks!" Unfortunately, it is a neccessary element for any battle scene because no battle is over until you have some.

For those who might be disturbed by such graphic scenes for the game, please keep in mind that these are just props. I've been to fraternity parties that looked far worse the next morning. Less blood... and clothing. But about the same body count. ;-)

The Civil War Project Carnage Pack is a collection of props depicting the honored dead and fallen, both Union and Confederate, that were a far-too-common sight during and after virtually every conflict of the Civil War. They can be used with other Civil War Project prop collections to create historic battle scenes in the game.

    * No props were harmed in the recreation of these battle scenes.

  5. Started long ago but never completed, the Civil War Project was intended to allow players to recreate historic American Civil War battle scenes in Sim City. Use the various props to create your own battles in the Lot Editor, or plop the collection of related lots to build national parks in your city where modern-day recreationists stage mock battles for the entertainment of tourists.

Instead of letting these collections of props just fade out without ever seeing the light of day, we are now releasing them for the enjoyment of whomever is interested. Each collection will be released as soon as it can be compiled.

This 2nd collection includes a variety of Confederate Troops in various poses and groupings. Other collections will include both Union & Confederate Batteries, some historic structures & numerous lots of various battle scenes.

    * The PEG Scenic Drive Kit works well to create a road system within a modern day national park. The PEG MTP Pine Trails kit is better suited for creating a more historic road & trail system.

  7. This mod turns your cities into Christmas... 365 days out of the year. Specifically, the mod changes ALL PEG Christmas props to display year-round in the game.

This mod is intended for those who are in the Holiday Spirit... or would truly like to be. Christmas may only come once a year in the real world... but it can come and go about every 3 minutes or so in the game. Now, with this mod, you can enjoy the Holiday festive atmosphere in the game throughout the real-world Holiday season.

YOU WILL NOT NEED TO RE-PLOP ANY LOTS.  Once the mod is installed, any lot using any of the PEG Christmas props will instantly  become decorated for the Holidays. Once the mod is uninstalled, all those lots return back to normal.  You can easily turn it off after the Holidays... or leave the mod installed and enjoy Christmas year-round in your cities.

    * This mod has no effect on the PEG Santa's Village as that lot uses special versions of the Christmas props that are already designed for year-round usage.

    * This mod will convert the PEG Seasonal Lot into a year-round Christmas Tree lot.

    * This mod does modify the PEG MTP Toy Shop Factory & Reindeer Rest Stop lots. The Toy Factory building will be covered in snow and  ice year-round and the Christmas props will also display throughout the year... including the Reindeer Landing Pad. However, Old Saint Nick will still only show up near midnight on Christmas Eve.  (game time)

    * This mod also modifies the Maxis add-on landmark Rockefeller Center Christmas props to display year-round. ** The ZIP file will create a ZZZ PEG Patches sub-folder of the standard PEGPROD folder. This mod must be installed into that folder in order to function properly.

** This mod has no dependencies.

  8. The Nick O'Laus Toy Company
The Toy Factory is a ploppable reward offering a few hundred industrial (manufacturing) jobs. It is also a landmark that will improve the mayor's rating and attract tourists to the area.

It sits on a 6x5 lot and uses many elements of the Mountain Theme Pack (MTP). It doesn't pollute much and has a modest value that generates some local revenue from taxes. Other features include a custom query, chimney smoke from the central chimney and a custom background sound effect... appropriately, the March Of The Toys theme. Overall, its a pretty good value for its $2000 price tag.
Each game-year as Christmas approaches, the lot begins to transform. It starts with the factory being covered with snow and icicles. Christmas lights appear and other decorations soon appear. As Christmas gets nearer, reindeer appear and the loading area behind the factory transforms into a reindeer landing zone.
Stealing a Pic of Old Saint Nic
According to Legend, the best way to get a pic of St. Nic is to hide in the woods behind the factory and make sure you have a clear view of the landing zone behind the factory. Best results are in night/darkness mode. With the game in slow mode, landing lights on the loading zone will begin to flash shortly before St. Nic appears. When he does, act fast. Before you can say, "Ho Ho Ho", he will fly off into the night on his appointed rounds.
Join in All The Reindeer Games
The eight reindeer are somewhere on the factory's grounds. See if you can find and "tag" them all. To tag a deer, use the query cursor tool and try to get the reindeer's name to show in the query bubble. Some of the deer are easy to spot yet difficult to tag. You will probably need to rotate the view several times to get them all. Tag all eight to win the game.
    * Rudolph is in de-tox at the Betty Ford Clinic. I guess now we know where the red nose comes from.
** Why you are at it, you might as well look for Waldo as well. That guy really gets around.
** This lot requires the following dependencies
    PEG MTP Super Pack
    PEG Christmas Development Kit

  9. NO MORE BROWN BOXES !! This is a quick & dirty little mod that replaces those big ugly brown packages... with little ugly multi-colored "smudges". The advantage here is that Multi-Color Smudge is quite small... and does not cover the entire lot.
The disadvantage to the default ugly brown packages, besides being brown... and ugly... is that it covers up the entire friggin' lot. This prevents you from being able to see which item on the lot is causing the problem... and often from even being able to see which lot has the issue.
Technically, this mod simply overrides those brown package models (there are of 5 in total, all different sizes) and forces the game to display the default multi-color smudge it normally displays when it can't find a model's graphic files. The mod is a minimal 36k in size so there is almost no game resource usage. And although the Multi-Color Smudges are small, they are still quite easy to see... which makes spotting a problem almost as easy as noticing a big, honking, brown ugly box in the middle of downtown.

  12. For use with the PEG Snow Mod, this patch replaces all of the lot base and overlay textures used by the MTP with Snow Mod compliant textures. It also updates many of the custom textures used on PEG lots released prior to the MTP.
Even if you do not use the MTP or any of the MTP lots, keep in mind that other custom lots have used the textures introduced with the MTP and other PEG Productions lots. If you are using the Snow Mod, it just might be prudent to have the patch installed... just in case.

  14. This is a simple mod that replaces the default in-game brown brick texture with the same red brick texture used in the CDK-OWW Ferry lot. It also replaces all PEG modifications of that brown brick texture... including the brown brick fountain texture and the all the custom textures created for the Seaport Village and SV-Plaza and Food Court lots.

For this Facelift mod to work, it must be one of the last items read in by the game from the Plugins folder. Therefore, it must be placed in a specially named folder (the default name is ZZZ PEG Facelift Mods)... and not placed within any other folder.

Of course, its all a matter of personal taste. Red brick is used quite a bit in the USA... but might not be as common elsewhere. Like palm trees... you either like them or you don't.
This mod will change the appearance of game default lots as well as lots created by other developers... so you'll have to just try it and see if it appeals to you. If not, uninstalling it is as easy as deleting the file.
This package also includes a separate file created by Swamper77 that replaces the custom brown brick diagonal texture created for the Marrast Embankment set. It also includes a third file by Swamper to replace the brown brick textures used in the NAM Ped Malls. These files are included separately so they can be optionally uninstalled if not needed... or easily updated as it will be likely with the NAM.

  15. Back by popular demand (for some reason)... these old legacy fountains have been dusted off and cleaned up just enough to make them look exactly like the originals which, of course... they are. These four fountains are pre-BAT, texture-based 1x1 Lots with the same properties and costs of a small plaza. They will appear in your Parks menu somewhere around the game's default small plaza.
The Brown Brick Fountain is designed to blend seamlessly with the popular brown brick plaza texture while the two Red Brick designs blend with the red brick "California Plaza" style texture. The Natural Rock fountain looks good in almost any setting. Of course, they can be used by themselves or mixed in with any other plaza textures.

  16. Ladies & Gentlemen... The Great Lighthouse of Alexandria.
Built to withstand the ravages of sea and time, The 40-story high Great Pharos Lighthouse stood as the tallest structure on Earth for almost 15 centuries... finally succumbing to a series of devastating earthquakes in the 1300s. Of the 6 fallen Ancient Wonders, the Lighthouse was the last to fall.
Lost to The Ages, a team from the Pegadyne Oceanographic Institute recently located and recovered the ruins from the harbor of Alexandria. Strapped for cash, the local government eagerly sold the ruins to Pegadyne Industries who carefully preserved and transported them back to your city. And there, as yet another public relations coup for the corporation, the ruins have been restored to their prior glory and now serve as a museum of Ancient Civilization for all the world to enjoy. "
This 8x8 lot (10x10 actual) historical landmark functions as a museum and serious tourist magnet. It contains all the properties and benefits of a normal museum (except plop price) and also includes the benefits of a landmark and tourist attraction.
This is a massive monument, Boys & Girls...  assembled modular style from 10 basic interconnecting models. Numerous other custom props, textures, and sound effects were designed exclusively for this lot... including 14 individual offset-rendered props and models just for the seawalls alone.
The lot is designed to be plopped on water like the game's default seaport. However, it can also be plopped on dry land and used with the PEG Pond Kit to create a surrounding river or lake. The large parking area is transit enabled and when connected to your road network, cars and school buses will drive through it.

  18. Towering above the dry and barren Mesopotamian plains on the banks on the Euphrates, the wondrous Hanging Gardens of Babylon awed and amazed all visitors who came to stand before them. It was the Dawn of Civilization in an age of magnificent achievement when Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar II had the Hanging Gardens built to ease the homesickness of his bride Amyitis who had come to him from the green mountainous lands of Media.
Lost for Millennia, the Pegadyne Industries - Archeology Division eventually located and unearthed the ruins of this incredible World Wonder. Strapped for cash, the local government eagerly sold the ruins to Pegadyne Industries who carefully preserved and transported them back to your city. And there, as one of the greatest corporate tax write-offs of all time, the ruins have been restored to their prior glory and now serve as a museum of Ancient Civilization for all the world to enjoy. There are 2 versions of this lot. Both versions are museums with all the properties and benefits of a normal museum... except plop price. Both versions are also landmarks & tourist attractions and include those benefits as well.

  19. Pegasus Productions has finally decided to join the farming craze with this initial offering of a tranquil poultry farm for your rural and agricultural regions. The classic Victorian style ranch house graces the 3x3 lot which abounds with plenty of aggie charm in a down-home country setting.
And if you are buying any of this tripe, I've got some prime swampland to sell you... and I'll even toss in the Brooklyn Bridge. "The" Chicken Ranch, made world-famous by the hit move, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, is a Texas institution that dates back to the early 1900s. Although illegal, a beneficial relationship between "the lady of the house" and local law enforcement allowed The Chicken Ranch to operate continuously until the 1970s. Throughout its years of operation, countless criminals were apprehended from tips provided by the staff to local law enforcement. Always a "high class joint", the Ranch's patrons and frequent visitors included many of Texas' upright & respected citizens, including judges and state Governors.
The house on the lot is modeled after the house that was used to film the movie. There are ploppable farm & growable versions included... each with a handful of Industrial Agriculture jobs... and it actually does have chickens and a chicken coop. If you keep a close eye out, you may even see Burt & Dolly come out from time to time to say Howdy!
The lots feature a custom query and custom sound effects... and are BTE Sleeze Reward enabled. Both ploppable and growable lots are also transit enabled and generate kickbacks... er, income. The lots use the PEG Seasonal Trees which requires that the PEG Seasonal Woods be installed. All other props are included in an included resource file.
Well, everyday around this time the party is just getting stated down at The Ranch. So git 'er installed, and head on over for some fun & frolicin'. Can y'all say,  "YEE HAW" ?  Sure ya can...
** Special thanks & recognition to BarbyW who co-authored the growable version of this lot. Her expertise with growables and agricultural lots was absolutely invaluable.

No Memorial Park can be complete without a Veteran's Memorial. This add-on pack contains 2 versions of the same memorial... the standard version and a Transit Enabled version. Both versions are visually identical.
This kit includes custom textures, custom query & sound effect... and a new custom translucent query window. The flag requires the PEG 'One Flag-Many Nations' modd in order to fly the flag of your own nation or preference. Without that mod, no flag will be shown.
The standard version is suitable for placement inside existing memorial parks. It already includes the non-functional Scenic Drive road and parking area.
The Transit Enabled version is suitable for placement as a stand alone memorial park. It must be connected to a functional street/road/avenue. Without this access, vehicles, most notably hearses, will spawn on it and have no way out. In testing I literally had about 20 hearses jammed on to it and they all just sat there, honking at each other. I finally had to bulldoze a path and connecting road to give them a way out. So don't place this version in mid-park without road access.
The Transit Enabled version is designed to convert incoming vehicle traffic to pedestrian traffic and visa versa. This should accurately simulate visitors driving to the memorial, parking, and eventually getting back in their cars and driving off.

    Dependencies:
    1. PEG One Flag-Many Nations modd (optional - required to display the flag)

  21. The Scenic Drive Kit allows you to add yet another realistic touch to your parks and recreational areas. These asphalt sections are ideal for creating large drive-through type parks or adding simulated auto access to any areas of your city where it would be appropriate.
These are not traffic/transit enabled lots. Because two such lots can not be connected, that option is not feasible at this time. This kit was originally designed for the upcoming requested memorial park kit (aka.. The Drop N' Plop Boneyard). However, I opted to make them non-'boneyard specific' so they can be used almost anywhere.
Being 'road-like' in nature, the sections of this kit will be accessible from your Misc. Transportation menu. Your Parks menu gets a break on this one.

** These lots are 'Slope Conforming and can be placed almost anywhere.
** This kit is compatible with all versions of SC4.
** This kit has no dependencies... other than the game itself.

  22. The Drop N' Plop Boneyard is now a reality. This kit includes 7 new lots that will allow you to assemble your own Memorial Park. When used with the Scenic Drive Kit, you can construct massive, sprawling memorial parks... or use the pieces individually for small and intimate boneyards wherever you like. "Bring Out Your Dead"... they've got a new home.
** This kit uses props from the bldgprop_vol1.dat and the Vehicle_Props-V3.dat. However, the required elements have been removed and added to the kit so there are no outside dependencies... other than the game itself.
** Be sure to look for the brain-eating Zombies who get up to stretch their legs every October.

  23. My Great Grandfather captained a clipper ship and was lost in a storm in the 1880s. No place of honor existed for him and his men at that time. But I like to think his name is en-scribed upon the walls of this Mariner's Memorial.
This particular lot has been months in the making and has been more a labor of love than neccessity. It is certainly my personal favorite... despite being the most difficult to create. Zoom in at night, query the lot... and prepare to be moved.

  24. ... and to compliment your shiny new Ponds, Pegasus Productions does the "ditto" thing with this Deluxe Edition of The Stream Kit.

Improvements in the Deluxe Edition include:
    1. NO SEAMS!!  Again... those pesky hairline seams that appeared between many sections are now gone for good.
    2. Improved Slope Tolerance. It is now possible to build a straight stream up a modest slope. Using roads to predefine & smooth your path, you can now easily wind your streams up almost any slope. And for those slopes that are just too steep, we now have...
    3. Improved WATERFALLS!!! Yes... we finally engineered an improved system for making waterfalls that are easy to plop and nice to look at. Blending old & new... texture and BAT, we now have a waterfall that will flex and stretch to fit any single-tile height slope you create. Unlike the previous Stream Waterfall, the new deluxe version also includes the top, center and bottom of the falls all in a single lot. No more separate top and bottom lots to contend with.
    4. Open Modular Architecture. Like the new Ponds, the new Stream Kit has also been restructured from the ground up to allow easier add-ons. This includes completely new  stream styles that you will be able to change as easily as a rock or water mod style by simply exchanging a single file.
    5. Reduced Costs... Reduced Effects. The plop and maintenance costs have been reduced significantly. Accordingly, the Park & Landmark effects have been reduced as well. Although the cost and effects for each lot was fairly modest, collectively, it all could easily add up to a significant monthly expense and and an easily capped out desirability. The new reductions should make even extensive water systems affordable and viable in rural and agricultural areas.
    6. Transparent Texturing!! All Stream Kit lots now have transparent textures. This allows the the streams to blend better with natural terrain and rocks mods at higher altitudes. This also allows the streams to be used with add-on terrain mods such as the snow/artic mod.

  25. It IS all about YOU and here's the friggin' statue to prove it. Why wait until you deserve such an honor when you can plop n' drop this ego booster now. The official KUTM Society (Kiss Up To the Mayor) has collected the building costs using their controversial  yet highly effective 'strong-arm' donation techniques so the initial cost to you is virtually nil, nada... zip! Such a deal...
Oh sure, its gonna cost a bit to maintain, but what doesn't in this day and age. So go ahead... indulge yourself... and allow your huddled masses to marvel upon the beauty, the craftsmanship, and the massive amount of pigeon poop that has accumulated upon your bronzed personage.
Of course, the statue comes in two flavors, Male & Female... (don't go there)... and only one can be installed at a time. You can't breed them... so just the one if you don't mind.
** This lot includes custom textures, custom query & sound effect... and a new custom translucent query window.
** The lot is Transit Enabled to allow pedestrians to travel through any part of the lot/plaza area, not just the parking area. The parking lot will connect to your traffic network and you will see vehicles drive in and out of it. But the parking area will not be used as a short cut by commuters.
    No dependencies

Brilliant mod! 10% Confucius, 90% confused.

A must for a midwestern city, this little gem seems to embody the understated balance which is found on some of their old buildings, and is surely able to express it to the benefit of surrounding environment - utilitarian and simple yet subtly graceful, can easily complement, and fit into, many contexts, lending it's humble contribution to their enrichment.

This is a good demonstration of how the SC4 map renderer can be used to design maps that reflect a symbol or an idea, or just a 'perfect' world optimized for the game and its functions, especially networking and placing of objects.   I've used this method myself to make pictures of a dove, a donut, and even used a script font on my Earth maps.    For the above male and female symbols I see a use for my continuing ferry experiments and access of cruise and shipping connections to other tiles in the region.   The idea for the ferries is to see if I can get all traffic using ferries --with no bridges.   So thanks for these examples.

I really like the idea, but the water texture is a bit disappointing.
