  1. For hundreds of years, Sim-kind labored under the belief that the world was round. But then, as any schoolchild will tell you, Simlumbus set off to sail around the world in his three ships; the Simna, the Simta & the Santa Simria. He sailed off the edge, into the Abyss and was never heard from again. And that's why nothing is named after him today.
With the modern invention of aviation and orthographic gaming views, we can now clearly see the edge of our world. Today, we never attempt to navigate beyond it without the protection of The Yellow Arrow. Some scientists... and far too many philosophers, have pondered as to what lies at the bottom of The Abyss. But even today, no one really knows and most of us just don't care.
Capitalizing on this general uncaring spirit, Pegadyne Industries has developed the new Garbage Chute... a small & affordable refuse disposal system that simply tosses our trash over the side. Why allow it to pile up when we can just as easily chuck it into the Abyss? Oh sure, the environmentalists are all in a huff... claiming that the Abyss will be ruined for future generations. And of course, a few attorneys have filed lawsuits claiming to represent the 'Denizens of The Abyss'. But the primary concern has been focused on what actually happens to the trash.
One popular theory is that it simply burns up in the fires of Hell. But federally subsidized research, supported by historic maps that clearly state that "Here There Be Dragons...", indicates that these dragons consider garbage to be a 'delicacy' and delightfully gobble it up with no complaint.

  2. Dam It !!  And then use it to make power. That's the smartest Dam thing to do with your rivers. And this new small Hydroelectric Dam will allow you to do just that.
Hydroelectric power is clean, renewable... and very cheap to produce. If you have the water source to power it, it is definitely one of your best options for powering your cities.
This small Hydro Dam is typical of many such structures constructed along waterways throughout the world. This particular version produces 2,500 MWh/month at a monthly operating cost of §200 for a §0.08 MWh cost... making it one of the cheapest clean power sources in the game.

The actual lot is 4 tiles wide by a single tile deep... but it will occupy an area that is approx. 6x2 tiles in size. The model is designed to extend beyond the lot's boundaries and fit into the surrounding terrain to make the dam look as it if were actually built into the canyon walls.
This dam can not be plopped on level terrain. The terrain will need to be modified to accommodate it. However, the required terrain editing is  fairly simple and the readme file includes instructions and a pic of what the terrain should look like.

The Hydro Dam itself does not use any specific "above sea-level" ploppable water mod. It is designed to be used with any ploppable water mods you prefer to use and has been successfully tested with several of them. The ploppable water shown here is from the soon to be released new PEG PPond Kit which includes the custom water turbulence lots plopped at the bottom of the dam.
    * As the dam has no convenient road access, it does not currently provide any jobs. An optional,  small, auxiliary lot for the dam (with the jobs) is currently in development. This will be a small lot that you can plop near the dam that will provide employee parking and underground access to the dam.

  3. Pegadyne Industries is pleased to announce the opening of the their new Oceanographic Institute off the coast of your city. This long-awaited private university will take advanced education to the next level offering masters & doctorate programs in Oceanography, Marine Biology, Marine Engineering & HydroSimology. City planners anticipate a large increase in High Tech industrial demand as graduates from this elite institution hit the job market.
The Oceanographic Institute is an alternative to the game's university and has the same properties and characteristics. But unlike the university's massive size, the institute only takes up one, single land tile. The entire facility resides completely in the water.
The POI also offers up to 450 CS jobs. IT can be plopped in any water depth... however the underwater detail may only be visible in shallower water.

  4. Feel the Power.  What a Rush !!
This is a simple mod that reskins the existing game default Power Transmission Towers to a consistent silvery-gray / oxidized metal color.  The red "candy stripe" paint scheme is fairly rare and this uniform galvanized gray color is far more common.
The game default towers are done well and the design is a common one. So only the "red" had to go. These are not new BAT models. The images used by the 4 tower models were exported, modified to remove the red... and imported back into the game.
    * Once installed in your Plugins folder, the mod will change the appearance of all the power transmission towers in the game. To change them back, simply remove the file from your Plugins folder. The changes are instant and automatic. There is no need to replop the towers.
    ** No dependencies.

  5. For Sims with a "Tude!!!" The City Council was hesitant at first, but the Mayor knew what he/she was doing. "Give the People what they want"... and this expressive statue was exactly that. The Sims love this statue because its exactly how they feel. Whether it stems from political misgivings, social concerns, or the jerk that cut them off in traffic... this statue says it all. Your Sims just feel better driving past it or standing before it and venting their rage. It is, after all, all about "attitude!!"

  6. So how cool would it be if we could run electrical power cables underground instead of stringing unsightly transmission towers across the pristine landscape? Well... now we can. Sort of.
For those of us who always hated to have ugly power transmission towers in our cities, the alternative was to plop a lot, often a park, tree or forest lot... every 5 tiles that would extend the juice from a distant power plant to our blossoming city. Not very realistic... but functional as far as the game was concerned.
The Underground Conduit lots use the same principle. But instead of trying to conceal the mysterious power connection, they stick it out there for all the world to see. The 1x1 lot contains a concrete service/access hatch to an imaginary underground conduit. By plopping these lots in a string every 5 tiles, you can extend your power grid while having a realistic visual aid to see where your power is coming from and going to.
To further enhance that visual aid, each lot has a red light sitting atop a sign post. The red light flashes only when the lot is connected to the grid and receiving power. This will allow you to quickly spot any connection problems along the line... and looks pretty darn cool at night.
Each lot is a single tile... and serves as a functional alternative to above-ground transmission towers. The lot is located in the Power Utilities menu, directly below the transmission towers. Each lot is a mere §5 to pop and cost nothing to maintain. They produce no pollution and have no other impact on the environment or game, either good or bad.
The lots have a transparent texture so they will blend with any terrain. They also have extended foundations and can be plopped on any slope. For best results, plop with the orientation arrow pointed uphill.
    * These lots can also be used atop water pipes or subway tunnels... to use as visual markers as to where your pipes or subway routes run. They could also be used as sewer access hatches for an imaginary sewage system. They also don't look bad around industrial areas and are useful to plop in that one zoned tile that will never develop or constantly gets a No Road Access Zot.
** This lot has no dependencies.

  7. We have built out... we have built up... now we can build down! The new PEG Subterranean Mall is the first of several new lots that will utilize your available real estate to its fullest extent by utilizing the space under your transportation network and existing development. These lots are designed to visually connect to each other both end-to-end and side-to-side... allowing you to create sprawling, inter-connected shopping complexes. They also work well when plopped alone as a small, space-saving singular shopping mall. This initial offering includes two 3x6 lots... similar in appearance but slightly different... and each containing unique store signage for added variety.
The sub-malls are now "Christmas Enabled" and will show Christmas decorations & lighting during the Holiday season. Installation of the PEG Christmas Development Kit is required.

  8. NO MORE BROWN BOXES !! This is a quick & dirty little mod that replaces those big ugly brown packages... with little ugly multi-colored "smudges". The advantage here is that Multi-Color Smudge is quite small... and does not cover the entire lot.
The disadvantage to the default ugly brown packages, besides being brown... and ugly... is that it covers up the entire friggin' lot. This prevents you from being able to see which item on the lot is causing the problem... and often from even being able to see which lot has the issue.
Technically, this mod simply overrides those brown package models (there are of 5 in total, all different sizes) and forces the game to display the default multi-color smudge it normally displays when it can't find a model's graphic files. The mod is a minimal 36k in size so there is almost no game resource usage. And although the Multi-Color Smudges are small, they are still quite easy to see... which makes spotting a problem almost as easy as noticing a big, honking, brown ugly box in the middle of downtown.

  9. After literally months in development and countless trips back to the drawing board, Pegasus Productions is proud to finally release this Deluxe Edition of the Pond Kit. Although similar in appearance, every lot and model have been rebuilt from the pond bottom up to eliminate the bad and make room for the good.
Improvements in the Deluxe Edition include:
    1. NO SEAMS!!  That's right... those pesky hairline seams that appeared between many sections are now gone for good.
    2. Improved Slope Tolerance. It is now possible to build a straight river up a modest slope. Larger areas such as ponds and lakes should still be built on level areas... but you can easily run straight sections of a river up a smooth incline.
    3. WATERFALLS!!! Yes... we finally engineered an improved system for making waterfalls that are easy to plop and nice to look at. Blending old & new... texture and BAT, we now have a waterfall that will flex and stretch to fit any single-tile height slope you create. With left, center and right side waterfall lots, you can create a waterfalls  virtually any width. These lots also include the top, center and bottom of the falls all in a single lot. No more separate top and bottom lots to contend with.
    4. Open Modular Architecture. The Pond Kit has been restructured from the ground up to allow easier add-ons. This includes completely new  pond styles that you will be able to change as easily as a rock or water mod style by simply exchanging a single file. This will also allow transparent versions of each style so those of you who use alternate terrain or snow mods will be able to use the ponds as well.
    5. Reduced Costs... Reduced Effects. The plop and maintenance costs have been reduced significantly. Accordingly, the Park & Landmark effects have been reduced as well. Although the cost and effects for each lot was fairly modest, collectively, it all could easily add up to a significant monthly expense and and an easily capped out desirability. The new reductions should make even extensive water systems affordable and viable in rural and agricultural areas.
    6. Auto Update!! Probably the best news of all for those with extensive Pond systems, this new kit will automatically update all your existing Pond lots in the game... except for the water tiles with Lilly Pads. Just remove the old files, install the new ones... and you're all set... except for replopping any Lilly Pad water tiles, of course.
Collectively, all these new features add up to a much improved and much easier to use Pond/River development system. With these new standards now in  place, the flood gates are finally open for new add-ons, new styles and lots of new development in your cities.

  10.
This is one of the series of new water texture mods that replace the game's default water textures. These mods use a process similar to that which is used by the newer rock mods to create a more photo-realistic appearance for the game's water.
This mod does not alter any of the game's default terrain properties. It simply combines a mixture of reduced scale and luminance for each subsequently lower zoom level that results in a highly realistic looki8ng water texture.
The Brigantine texture is highly universal with a modest surface texture and a very common greenish-blue color that is suitable in almost any climate or region. It closely emulates the color and texture of most large bodies of water. It is fairly translucent in the shallows yet quickly turns opaque as the water gets deeper. This was the texture that ended the series as we feel we just weren't going to find one better than this.
Each mod contains new texture files that overwrite the game's default water surface textures. You can return to using the default textures at any time by simply removing the DAT file from your Plugins folder.

  11. Welcome to the first-ever (I think) Halloween "Changeling" lot. Poltergeist Manor is your run-of-the-mill, older but well maintained mansion... throughout most of the year. But for 31 days in October... all Hell breaks loose!!.  Literally!
Every (game) year in October, the entire lot changes from a lovely old home to the meanest, nastiest, spookiest Haunted Mansion you've been too terrified to step foot in. Loaded with modified animated effects and eerie night lighting, you'll see Zombies and Ghoulies roaming the estate while an unearthly mist moves along the grounds. Occasionally, a soul departs to the accompaniment of sound effects so twisted that your hair is guaranteed to turn white. Unless, of course, your hair isn't already white.

This is a 3x3 Landmark lot. Low cost and even lower maintenance. No jobs... no required road access. Just a simple eye-candy lot with a modest amount of landmark-like particles added. The lot will be located near the top of your Landmark Menu.
    Enjoy!!  And, of course....
    Happy Halloween !!

  12. I went out and bought SC4 on the very first day it was released. And from that day, the default tennis court park has bothered me and I couldn't figure out why. I even mentally played a tennis game on the default court: I serve... it goes long... and I watch the ball bounce out across the street and bean some old lady in the head. My second serve is returned and flies high and to the right... and I watch it skip across the railroad tracks and get crushed by a passing forklift.
And then it hit me... NO FENCES!!  I've never seen a tennis court that wasn't fenced in. Without fences, there would be 20 minute delays between serves while the players ran off to shag balls. An otherwise enjoyable game... would radically suck!
Anyway... I put a custom BAT fence around the courts, stuffed 2 on a 3x3 lot and gave it some adequate parking. Voila!! Instant Tennis Park!!
This 3x3 park has all the size, costs and benefits of the game's standard large park. The park was designed to be used with the PEG Trail Parks but works just as well by itself. It does not require that you have the PEG Trail Parks installed. It is fully self-contained and has no dependencies.

    * Like the PEG Krispy Kremes, this lot also uses a BAT modeled parking area instead of textures. This allows true 3D curbs, planters and sidewalks that add a depth and realism to the lot.

  13. One thing we have never had in any version of SimCity are the power Substations that are an intregal part of any power grid. But now we do!
The power we use may be produced at a power plant possibly 100s of miles away.. or it may come from "The Grid" consisting of numerous distributed power plants all supplying power to a single, connected network of power. But between your house and the source, is at least one if not several power sub-stations which control and convert voltage and current... and also serve as switching & relay stations  (transmission & distribution) to local areas.

This package contains 2 Substations. One is a larger Transmission Substation (2x2 tiles) of the type you might find next to power plants, major power line junctions or as a Distribution Substation  servicing a large area. The other is a smaller Distribution Substation (1x1) that would normally service a smaller area or neighborhood. The larger substation provides jobs and requires road access. The small substation does not provide jobs and can be located remotely. It can also be plopped around the larger Substation to make it look like a much bigger facility.
    * Both Substations display a small red blinking light when they are powered to help you visually confirm that the station is receiving power.
Our Substations are technically power plants in that they can be found in the game's Utility Power Menu and are part of the Power Budget. But they do not produce any power. Like the power transmission towers, they are a realistic component of a power grid. But otherwise, they do not provide any required functionality to the game.
The lots are cheap to plop and even cheaper to maintain. They are YIMBY/NIMBY neutral... so you can plop them anywhere without affecting wealth or desirability. They produces about the same air pollution and garbage as a typical single-family residence.
    * The lots also have a custom query that displays vital information about all the power facilities in your city.

To be honest, I always hated using the game's "high tension" or power transmission towers... thinking that they were ugly and generally wasted space. But since testing these new Substations, I have had great fun setting up realistic power grids in my cities... running transmission towers to Substations and connecting all power plants  to "The Grid".
    * You can check out the Wikipedia Article on Electrical Substations to learn more about how substations work and how they can be used to add more realism to your cities.
** These lots have no dependencies.

  14. Yes... it produces electricity. Yes... traffic can travel across it. Yes... its designed for use with the PEG Pond Kit II. And Yes... it's pretty DAM cool!
Finally, the long lost hydro dams of yester-versions are back to provide your Sims with clean & cheap power. Now you can run a river down from your mountains using the Pond Kit II and build a series of these Hydro Dams that will provide even your largest cities with ample power & water.
Each dam produces about the same power as a Solar Power Plant. With version 2.07, each dam will increase the efficiency of connected water pumps by an extra 4,000 cu per month. The building & maintenance costs are about the same as a natural gas power plant.
** This lot is not transit enabled. Its a single lot that plops on both sides of an existing road, street or rail. You can also run elevated rail across it... or trail parks... or zone it and see what develops.
This package includes the Waterfall Bottom lots (PEG_Pond-WFB_205.dat) that can be used to create the water turbulence on the lower side of the dam.
    Dependencies:
    PEG Pond Kit II
PEG 24/7 Mod (used for water turbulence effect)

    * These custom props are free to use and distribute in lots your create for your own use or to publicly distribute.  If re-distributed, please reference the original prop pack as a dependency. Do not copy and redistribute the original prop material. Most of the props are larger in-game than the their bounding boxes will indicate in the L0t Editor. 16. The Ponds are back!! Restyled with BAT models to blend with the PEG Stream Kit, the new ponds offer an improved, more realistic look with greater flexibility & ease of placement.
This kit contains all the pieces you need to create peaceful ponds, large lakes and winding rivers of almost any shape, size & width. Included are lots to transition the Streams to the Ponds as well as bridge-end and El Transit extended lots to allow all forms of traffic to cross you waterways.

The ponds were designed to integrate with the all of the PEG trail park and forest/woods kits. Obviously, they can be used by themselves in any manner you choose.

This new version uses BAT models as opposed to base textures and actually carves into the terrain surface. The water level is realistically below the level of the surrounding terrain which creates a true 3D appearance .
    * All Pond sections are comparable to a standard small Green Park in most categories.

  18. Ladies & Gentlemen... The Great Lighthouse of Alexandria.
Built to withstand the ravages of sea and time, The 40-story high Great Pharos Lighthouse stood as the tallest structure on Earth for almost 15 centuries... finally succumbing to a series of devastating earthquakes in the 1300s. Of the 6 fallen Ancient Wonders, the Lighthouse was the last to fall.
Lost to The Ages, a team from the Pegadyne Oceanographic Institute recently located and recovered the ruins from the harbor of Alexandria. Strapped for cash, the local government eagerly sold the ruins to Pegadyne Industries who carefully preserved and transported them back to your city. And there, as yet another public relations coup for the corporation, the ruins have been restored to their prior glory and now serve as a museum of Ancient Civilization for all the world to enjoy. "
This 8x8 lot (10x10 actual) historical landmark functions as a museum and serious tourist magnet. It contains all the properties and benefits of a normal museum (except plop price) and also includes the benefits of a landmark and tourist attraction.
This is a massive monument, Boys & Girls...  assembled modular style from 10 basic interconnecting models. Numerous other custom props, textures, and sound effects were designed exclusively for this lot... including 14 individual offset-rendered props and models just for the seawalls alone.
The lot is designed to be plopped on water like the game's default seaport. However, it can also be plopped on dry land and used with the PEG Pond Kit to create a surrounding river or lake. The large parking area is transit enabled and when connected to your road network, cars and school buses will drive through it.

  19. This mod is an alternative to the game's default commercial Car Cluster prop that we see on virtually every parking lot of every lot in the game. This mod does not replace the game's props.... and in that sense, its actually more of a dependency file than a mod. But its mod-"ish"... so we're calling it one for marketing purposes because dependencies are a bore but mods are Ubber-Cool!!
This new Car Cluster prop will be used in all future PEG lots... where appropriate. And it can be used to develop your own lots and by other lot developers who would like a bit more realism on their lots.
Things I Don't Like About the Game's Car Cluster Prop:
    1. The car models are pretty bland. (Old Now!)
    2. The cars are under-scale.
    3. Generally too sparse - not enough cars.
    4. 8 to 5... then POOF!  Nothing. Empty lot for the next 15 hours.
Things I Do Like About the This Car Cluster Prop:
    1. The cars are more detailed with a variety of unique and classic cars tossed in.
    2. The cars are slightly larger to better match the scale of people props and properly scaled structures.
    3. Engineered to keep the parking lots fuller... longer.
    4. At the end of the day, they usually leave one or two cars behind to represent that occasional dead battery or the guy working late to kiss ass for that raise.
    5. Cars not parked by robots. The cars are not perfectly aligned and some are parked off-center & slightly angled... as we see far too often in the real world.
    6. Its expandable. New add-on clusters can easily be added for even greater variety.
    * The main motivation for this was to increase the scale of the cars so they wouldn't make structures and other props appear too large in comparison. Really large buildings need to be scaled down... and for those, the game default cars are a good fit. But when parked next to a smaller building or anywhere near people props, they look like little clown cars and make everything else appear over-scaled.
** This file has no dependencies.

  20. ... and to compliment your shiny new Ponds, Pegasus Productions does the "ditto" thing with this Deluxe Edition of The Stream Kit.

Improvements in the Deluxe Edition include:
    1. NO SEAMS!!  Again... those pesky hairline seams that appeared between many sections are now gone for good.
    2. Improved Slope Tolerance. It is now possible to build a straight stream up a modest slope. Using roads to predefine & smooth your path, you can now easily wind your streams up almost any slope. And for those slopes that are just too steep, we now have...
    3. Improved WATERFALLS!!! Yes... we finally engineered an improved system for making waterfalls that are easy to plop and nice to look at. Blending old & new... texture and BAT, we now have a waterfall that will flex and stretch to fit any single-tile height slope you create. Unlike the previous Stream Waterfall, the new deluxe version also includes the top, center and bottom of the falls all in a single lot. No more separate top and bottom lots to contend with.
    4. Open Modular Architecture. Like the new Ponds, the new Stream Kit has also been restructured from the ground up to allow easier add-ons. This includes completely new  stream styles that you will be able to change as easily as a rock or water mod style by simply exchanging a single file.
    6. Transparent Texturing!! All Stream Kit lots now have transparent textures. This allows the the streams to blend better with natural terrain and rocks mods at higher altitudes. This also allows the streams to be used with add-on terrain mods such as the snow/artic mod.

  21. On a quiet Sunday morning December 7, 1941 a Japanese surprise air attack left the Pacific Fleet in smoldering heaps of broken, twisted steel. Here, peace was interrupted and paradise lost. In hours, 2,390 futures were stolen, half of these casualties from the battleship Arizona.
Behind the shadows of destroyed airfields, aircraft, and ships, America fought fear, and a determined enemy responding with an unrivaled war effort. An epic battle for democratic ideals and world freedom would bloody the fields of Europe and the islands of the Pacific over the next four years. The USS Arizona Memorial as a national shrine symbolizes American sacrifice and resolve.

  22. By request... this package contains the 3 most requested variations of the PEG Poltergeist Manor. All versions are quite similar to the original and, of course require the original  Poltergeist Manor as a dependency.

    Included in this package are:

    1. Poltergeist Manor 365. Another landmark version that remains haunted all year long. The effects were modified so they too will "Haunt Da Hood" 365 days a year.
    2. Poltergeist Manor... The Growable. A growable R$$, Stage 2 lot suitable for all densities. Functions just like the landmark version except it has a normal residential query. Possibly the first & only growable building that changes with the season/holiday.
    3. Victoria Manor. A growable R$$$, Stage 3 lot that is just the non-haunted version of the mansion. Nary a spook or specter. "This house is clean!"

    * The 3 versions are in separate files so you can remove any version that you do not wish to use.

    Enjoy!!  And once again...
    Happy Halloween !!

  23. The PEG Trail Parks have returned with a whole new visual makeover. This initial release introduces the new version of the basic Trail Parks... designed to blend seamlessly with the the PEG Random Woods & the PEG Stream Kit II.
These new parks feature BAT modeled pathways that replace the old textured paths. This means that the paths now show while you are plopping the lots. This makes them much easier to use.
These Trail Parks also feature two new trail lots that will allow you to run your trails anywhere. The new EL Transit lot will allow you to extend the trails under elevated rail & highways. The new Pedestrian Tunnel allows you to visually run your trails under any road or rail... or even under entire buildings or blocks.

  24.
Pegrassic Park is a collection of dinosaur statue props that you can use in the Lot Editor
to make parks... or whatever your imaginations comes up with.

    Enjoy!!

Most notably, the statuues with longer tails may extend beyond the tile that the prop is placed on.

  25. The Scenic Drive Kit allows you to add yet another realistic touch to your parks and recreational areas. These asphalt sections are ideal for creating large drive-through type parks or adding simulated auto access to any areas of your city where it would be appropriate.
These are not traffic/transit enabled lots. Because two such lots can not be connected, that option is not feasible at this time. This kit was originally designed for the upcoming requested memorial park kit (aka.. The Drop N' Plop Boneyard). However, I opted to make them non-'boneyard specific' so they can be used almost anywhere.
Being 'road-like' in nature, the sections of this kit will be accessible from your Misc. Transportation menu. Your Parks menu gets a break on this one.

** These lots are 'Slope Conforming and can be placed almost anywhere.
** This kit is compatible with all versions of SC4.
** This kit has no dependencies... other than the game itself.
