Please help us for July 06/30/2017This month we're hoping for a little bit of a boost this month or next, in addition to covering the regular bills, we could benefit from some hardware upgrades. STEX Collector's Set gifts can now be sent to you via digital download as well as regular mail if you wish! Every donation dollar goes toward keeping Simtropolis online and humming along. Your contribution counts! Hardware Upgrades As our website community software improves with more and more features, and as we bolt on additional features such as chat, the increased load to handle all these new toys is taking the server a bit to task. You may have noticed that we'd been forced to temporarily disable the chat as we worked out allocating resources for more optimal performance. Following this, we've applied a number of 'soft' changes such as caching options and experimented with server configurations (nginx as proxy, for example), so the hardware aspect is also an area we'd like to focus on. The last time we upgraded hardware was back in 2012, prior to the release of SC13. Your contribution means a lot! Your donation will go toward helping us to 1.) migrate to a newer server or 2.) at least get some ram/cpu/storage updates and any other infrastructure hardware or services. Donate and Get a Gift or Donate Any Amount Thanks so much! - Dirktator & The Admins

By EasyGhostBudapest, strategically placed at the centre of the Carpathian Basin, lies on an ancient route linking the hills of Transdanubia with the Great Plain. The Danube enters the city from the north; later it encircles two islands, Óbuda Island and Margaret Island. The third island Csepel Island is the largest of the Budapest Danube islands, however only its northernmost tip is within city limits. Pest lies on the flat terrain of the Great Plain while Buda is rather hilly.
Unzip the file and put it to: C:\Users\*USER*\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Maps folder, just as you would with any other map.
I hope you enjoy it, feedback is welcome!
By GrockefellerHere's the map of Los Santos, with water system, ressource, and an outside connexion north of mount Chiliad
This is my first map for this game. I spent about 7 hours making this map. The water in the river flows down stream perfectly, and steps down in elevation nicely to form a strong current. There is a generous bit of oil all along the coastline and on the large islands, and small islands as well. there is ore to the northwest/northeast in the mountainous areas of the map. there is some fertile land to the east, and large forest to the west. Enjoy.

Laramie is a city and the county seat of Albany County, Wyoming, United States. The population was 30,816 at the 2010 census. Located on the Laramie River in southeastern Wyoming, the city is west of Cheyenne, at the junction of Interstate 80 and U.S. Route 287. Laramie is on a high plain between two mountain ranges, the Snowy Range, about 30 miles (48 km) to the west, and the Laramie Range, 7 miles (11 km) to the east. The city's elevation above sea level is about 7,165 feet (2,184 m). The Laramie River runs through Laramie toward its confluence with the North Platte River east of the Laramie Range. The hunts road junction connections Wyoming Route 59 with Interstate 80.
The map contains oil and ore, and very little vegetation. Mostly just plains and hills. For better immersion, use Medium graphics settings or above. I worked a lot on this map, and I hope you guys like it.
By 2001kraftLaramie is a city and the county seat of Albany County, Wyoming, United States. The population was 30,816 at the 2010 census. Located on the Laramie River in southeastern Wyoming, the city is west of Cheyenne, at the junction of Interstate 80 and U.S. Route 287. Laramie's total precipitation averages about 11 inches (279 mm) a year, and the average number of rainy days per year is about 86. The city experiences a day that is 90 °F (32 °C) or warmer 2.2 times a year. The average temperature in December is 21.1 °F (−6.1 °C), and in July it is 64.0 °F (17.8 °C). Annual snowfall averages 48 inches (122 cm). Because of the high elevation, winters are long, and summers are short and relatively cool. The growing season is short, as the average window for freezing temperatures is September 14 through June 6, while for accumulating (≥0.1 inches or 0.25 centimetres) it is October 5 through May 12. Laramie has a semi-arid climate (Köppen climate classification BSk) with long, cold, dry winters and short, warm, somewhat wetter summers. - Wikipedia.
I put a lot of effort into creating this theme and making it as realistic and close to my personal experiences in the area as possible. Enjoy.
NOTE: The cliff texture is not realistic, I know. This map also uses custom textures, so please pardon for lag. Report any errors / bugs / lag to me personally.
By KöldRaven Bay is the last map in a series of five that I set out to do for Cities Skylines. This is a European themed map. It has a rather large, open flat area for building a gigantic, sprawling city. It has plenty of resources with oil being the exception due to it's hideous color.
Set amidst a small mountain range this coastal map has vibrant farmland, one large flowing river, a fully laid out highway system with interchanges and a full rail system. I wanted to create the vibe of a large interconnected European Costal city.
For those new to the game. There are several areas that have highway off ramps acting as roads. These are just placeholders to show where the roads can go. You can choose to upgrade them where they are to any other type of road or just bulldoze and make your own.
(Note) Upgrading to the largest wide avenues might affect some treelines. They were drawn in using the highway width as a guidelines so most roads shouldn't affect the trees.

By 2001kraftThe Islas Marías ("Mary Islands") are an archipelago of four islands that belong to Mexico. They are located in the Pacific Ocean, some 100 km (62 mi) off the coast of the state of Nayarit. They are part of the municipality of San Blas, Nayarit. As of 2011, the islands are still being used as a penal colony, containing the Islas Marias Federal Prison. The islands have an aggregate area of 244.970 km². 1,116 people lived on Isla María Madre as of the census of 2005. The other islands are uninhabited. The next two largest islands are Isla María Magdalena (70.440 km²) and, further south, Isla María Cleofas (19.818 km²). They were named after three women called Mary in the Biblical New Testament: respectively, Mary, the mother of Jesus, Mary Magdalene, and Mary, the wife of Cleopas, and are referred to as the Tres Marias. A smaller island, Isla San Juanito (not visible/accessible in this map), with an area of 9.105 km² lies off the north coast of Isla María Madre.
This map includes a piece of Isla Mariá Madre, Isla Mariá Cleofas in its entirety, and the main focus of the map, Isla Mariá Magdalena. Mariá Cleofas is not usable, and only a piece of Mariá Madre is. Mariá Madre unrealistically contains oil and a railway connection, created to ease the gameplay, as the map is hard enough already. You're more than welcome to abandon the highway and play the game realistically, starting off with a harbor rather than a road connection. Both air and ship lines are available. The map prioritizes Mariá Magdalena significantly, and in stock gameplay, you'll face a difficult choice regarding where to expand. The map is medium difficulty, but harder than my Maio, Cape Verde map. No animals here, European theme. Have fun.
By 2001kraftFictional map loosely based around Trindade Island.
The island is located about 120 miles West of Ensenada, Mexico. Before the Spanish-American war, the island has sustained a populace of 5,300 people. However, during the war, America has completely taken over the island, and unfortunately, only 50 settlers were left by the end of the war due to rampant rebellion against American rule, forcing the US armed forces into murdering most residents. The island in the center of the waterfall has served as the downtown area of the Spanish settlement. No infrastructure, however, was left by the end of the war, due to the fact that most roads were unpaved, and no railroad was established. The harbor has been disassembled and recycled in 1955, and so were the most houses. In 2013, a highway has been built connecting the island to San Clemente Island near California. The highway is part of an American-Mexican off-coast highway, connecting Los Angeles, California, and Ensenada, Mexico. In 2015, the island has gained a lot of popularity amongst Californians, and the first official settlement was established on the island. The name "Las Kardes" it derived from the word kardex, which is Spanish for "archive" or "filing cabinet". It has been named as such due to the fact that colonization of the island post-Spanish-American War has been left off for a very long time.
The island's total land area is 10.2 squared kilometers. It is fairly mountainous and contains a fertile delta in the West. The delta is quite dated, having formed only after several thousand years of rock breakdown. Geologists predict all island breakdown around the delta in approximately 4,190 years. The rest of the lake will become saltwater by the end of the next 200 years. The mountains contain a limited amount of ore. On the north of the island is a waterfall with a limited amount of fertile land. Animal life is present, dwelling primarily near the fertile areas.
NOTE: High possibility of a default highway circulating around the island. Why? Because Americans love highways circulating around things, and because it's a very island-ish thing to have.

By phamduyscHalong Bay (descending dragon) is one of the most famous place in Vietnam. It also know as the biggest coal ore province in Vietnam. Please enjoy map.
By 2001kraftLa Gomera is one of Spain's Canary Islands, located in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Africa. In area, it is the second-smallest of the seven main islands of this group. It belongs to the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Its capital is San Sebastián de La Gomera, where the headquarters of the Cabildo are located.
This map is probably even more challenging than my Jan Mayen map. Aside from the railroad connection, which I have no idea how you'll use, this map's resources are extremely difficult to access. The different zones on this map are modeled semi-realistically, very similar to that of the real La Gomera. The rainforests are better left undisturbed for even more challenge, and me being the ultimate bastard of the universe, I placed oil and ore there, as-well as fertile land, which is available from the start. If you really want the oil, you have to butcher the rainforests. If you really want to be renewable, you have to butcher the rainforest too. If you want to be Greenpeace, you have a huge problem to overcome. The rolling hills and mountains are incredibly different to go by. If the Spanish colonized this place, you can too. NOTE: Los Organos is not present here. Sorry. NOTE2: be careful about where you build! I got flooded in a lot of places.
By 2001kraftMaio is the easternmost of the Sotavento islands of Cape Verde. Maio is located south of the island of Boa Vistaand east of Santiago. The island is known for its sandy beaches and large forest, which is unusual for Cape Verde.
This map is nowhere near as challenging as my Jan Mayen map, however, just as much work went into it. This map has an incoming/outcoming railroad connection, as-well as some left-over mining railroads in the mountainous area. One mini-mountain range has a small railroad bridge, used to connect the two ore-filled hills together (not present IRL). Tropical theme, right-hand drive.
By 2001kraftJan Mayen is a volcanic island in the Arctic Ocean and a part of the Kingdom of Norway. It is 55 km (34 mi) long (southwest-northeast) and 373 km2(144 sq mi) in area, partly covered by glaciers (an area of 114.2 km (71.0 mi) around the Beerenberg volcano). It has two parts: larger northeast Nord-Jan and smaller Sør-Jan, linked by a 2.5 km (1.6 mi) wide isthmus. It lies 600 km (370 mi) northeast of Iceland (495 km (305 mi) NE of Kolbeinsey), 500 km (310 mi) east of central Greenland and 1,000 km (620 mi) west of the North Cape, Norway. The island is mountainous, the highest summit being the Beerenberg volcano in the north. The isthmus is the location of the two largest lakes of the island, Sørlaguna (South Lagoon), and Nordlaguna (North Lagoon). A third lake is called Ullerenglaguna (Ullereng Lagoon). Jan Mayen was formed by the Jan Mayen hotspot. Although administered separately, Svalbard and Jan Mayen are collectively assigned the ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code "SJ". - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jan_Mayen
I worked a lot on this map. It contains oil, forestry, minerals, and animals. The theme is Winter. It is very smooth and ideal for building. Recommended for players who want more challenge, as it is very difficult to strategically figure out how to maximize efficiency in this map. Have fun.
By FenX2015Lowflod Bay is just a massive swamp. Kinda challenging, because a big amount of islands can be flooded, so you'll need to build water protection to save your islands...

By MisanthropeFreezing winter + flat&smooth surface with very few resources. Not recommended for beginners.
By TitanicbuffThis map is the custom map for my upcoming planned CJ- Its a mountain map, with lots of rugged landscape. Highways begin at map edge so you can do your own system layout- enjoy.
A map I made for myself because I couldn't find any that were over-the-top enough for me. Figured I would share. Loads of detail.
Build in a valley surrounded by massively (max height) steep cliffs.
Designed to be an optimal map for playing on with some awesome views, not so much with terrain realism in mind.
Perfect Dam spot built into map with the reservoir on the non-buildable part of the map to optimize space.
Separate small section of river that drains nasty water out so you don't have to blacken up the main river with pollution.
Great connections with ship route going straight through the map.
Lots of Resources close to water for easy shipment out of the city.
Extensive pre-built highway and railroad network.
Just about the entire map is flat build-able space, even up on the edges of huge cliffs. Just about any square with water and a highway would make a good starting location.
Amazing night time views when you have buildings up on the edges of cliffs. The cliff side roads snaking their way around the map look awesome lit up.
Should work with all versions of cities. Built with after dark patched version.

Maps Factory is back!
Now with Cities: Skylines, my new addiction.
This is a map of Rio de Janeiro, the central area, and a bit of the city of Niterói.
I only built one highway going east to north, I'll let you build the rest of the highways. With bridge Rio-Niterói.
No Ipanema and Leblon neighborhoods, sorry, maybe in another version.
I can't promisse a perfect water flow, that's something I'm still discovering and always swearing at the map editor haha

By CWLGAMER01Charlotte, North Carolina
Charlotte is the largest city in the U.S. state of North Carolina and the second largest city in the southeastern United States. It is currently the 17th largest city in the U.S. and was incorporated in 1768 as a town. Named for Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, Charlotte is nicknamed the “Queen City” and is symbolized by a stylized crown. Charlotte is located in and is the county seat of Mecklenburg County.
Land Area: 297.7 sq. miles (771 km2)
Elevation: 751 ft (229 m)
Population (2014): 809,958 (17th)
Density: 2,720/ sq. miles (1,050.5/km2)
Urban Population: 1,249,442 (38th)
Metro: 2,380,314 (22nd)
Time Zone: Eastern Standard Time (UTC-5) (Summer – DST: Eastern Daylight Time (UTC-4))
Major Highways Servicing Charlotte:
Interstate 77, Interstate 85, Interstate 277, Interstate 485
US Highway 21, US Highway 29, US Highway 74
NC Highway 16, NC Highway 24, NC Highway 27, NC Highway 49, NC Highway 51, NC Highway 160
Terrain of Charlotte:
Charlotte’s elevation is 751 feet above sea level and is describe as rolling foothills leading into the mountains from the coastal plan. This area is known as the Piedmont and stretches from South West of Atlanta, GA to Northeast of Greensboro, NC following the Interstate 85 corridor. Due to Charlotte location inland, Charlotte has four distinctive seasons, however, winters are known to be mild and summers are known to be hot and humid.
Information about the map:
The map was created using Terrain Party and the standard setting. This map includes Interstate 85, Interstate 77, and Interstate 277, along with US 74 east of Charlotte. The interchanges for all the major Interstates are hand drawn and as accurate as possible within the game. This includes the I-77/I-85 interchange in which I-77 crosses itself and the northbound lanes are now on the left side and the southbound are on the right. This design was used during the construction of the highway to save money and space. If you have a chance check out Google Maps: https://www.google.com/maps/dir/35.2729762,-email@example.com,-80.8450858,16z?hl=en. In addition the location of the Interstates is accurate as well using the terrain features to determine location.
Note: US 74 (Independence Freeway) – Does not connect to the outside. I was limited to four connections and choose to connect the I-85 and I-77 to the outside. If anyone knows of a mod to allow more connections – please let me know.
Due to the terrain and the proximate of water to the center city, I took liberties to ensure the map has proper water and access. This was created due to Charlotte not being located on a major river or the river being close enough to be included in the map.
Please provide feedback and any suggestions so I can improve the map. I am starting to use this map to build a city on and will be providing updates as I find issues. Please let me know via commits if you have problems or concerns with the map or the road lay outs.
