  1. This mod adds the possibility of building of multilevel streets in SimCity. Place the second traffic level on top of the first level. And you will get bi-level street! Create more beautiful and perfect interchanges with this pack.   Also meet a new innovative solution to the problem of traffic congestion at the intersections - Yield signs (or Give way)! Each driver must prepare to stop if necessary to let a driver on another approach proceed at these intersections. Control traffic even easier!   Features: - The Second level of High Density Street, Medium Density Street and Bi-level Avenue: Medium Density, High Density and Streetcar Avenue. - Meduim Density Transition Ramp, High Density Transition Ramp and all kinds Avenue Transition Ramps: Medium Density, High Density and StreetCar. - The Second Level Of High Density Street uses yield signs at the intersections. The Second Level Of Medium Density Street and other - stop signs. - Major roads and Secondary roads. (You need to place a road in a value "a secondary road" at first and then a road in a value "a major road") - Ability to change the height of the road.   You should use Transition Ramps or UDoN to connect the first level with the second.   When you use this pack with the Project Akar by Yayie, you can find these roads in "Levels".     Hey guys
     
    This mod allows you to plop an interchange in your city (see screenshot for what it looks like). This will add a sense of realism to your city as well as solve traffic problems and let your creativity spread .
     
    6:40PM 7/7/2014 - Xoxide has just informed me that ProcsKalone had originally done this mod. I did not intend to steal any of his ideas, so I am posting this to give him credit for his work.

    You can plop the interchange by going to the Custom Roads submenu (in Akar: http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/29715-project-akar/) and going to the last icon.
     
    NOTE: Bulldozing the interchange may cause your game to crash. Be extremely careful!
     
    How to install:
     
    - Unzip the file.
    - Install the .package file into your SimCityData folder.

  3. This mod adds the roads with only stop signs at the intersections.  
     
    Features:
    - High Density Street and Medium Density Street with no traffic lights.
    - High Density Avenue and Medium Density Avenue with no traffic lights (version 1.1).
    - High Density Streetcar Avenue with no traffic lights (version 1.2).
    - Major roads and Secondary roads.
    - Cars pass pedestrians at the intersections.
    - You can add the traffic lights using "Road Upgrade" and remove them again according to your wishes (see screenshot below).
    You should save the game after creation of region and restart the game, so you can upgrade the ordinary roads to the roads with no traffic lights.
     
    This mod can help to reduce traffic congestion in the city. 
    You need to place a road in a value "a secondary road" at first and then a road in a value "a major road" (It doesn't matter when the road crosses the Avenue).
     
    When you use this mod with the Project Akar by Yayie (http://bit.ly/1ooMyA4), you can find these roads in "Custom Roads".
    Thanks to Yayie for assistance in preparing update 1.3 and Banwashere for preparation of icons in update 1.4.
     
    THIS IS AN OFFLINE-ONLY MOD.

  5. Ok per request I am uploading one of my mods to Simtrop for users.
     
    Its 1 variations of the mod which I call 1.01 and 1.05.
     
    Both are similar except for extreme variable changes.  So one can described as conservative and the other liberal.
     
    Depending on how you use it and one of my own personal reasons was to trench low enough to create flat bridges without arching.
     
    It will allow you to trench lower before tunnels are created and allow you to go higher before a bridge mode takes effect giving you raised sections to pull bridges from.
     
    What you can do with it is really a limitation of your own imagination.

  7. Hello Mayors!

    I have just published new road and sidewalk textures. This mod gives you the option to install completely new asphalt textures and cobblestone roads. Standard roads are in European style and North American style, Cobblestone roads are available in gray and red. I've also included newly re-designed sidewalk and curb textures, taking influence from Berlin, Germany.

  8. FREE Roads and FREE Road Upgrades!
    Those of us who would like endless road building. Here is unlimited costs. You could start designing your city right from the start.
     
    Features:
    - Everything Associated with Road Building is now 100% Free. I went through all of the road costs, and changed all their values to 0.
    - There should be no costs when building roads with v1.8
    - Works with Futurized roads too! (added picture)
    - Should be compatible with existing road mods (as this only changes the cost of the roads)
    - TUNNELS, BRIDGES and  ARCH-BRIDGES are also free.
    - Streetcar Tracks and Train/Rail tracks are also free
     
    How to Install: (Easy)
    1. Unzip the downloaded file.
    2. Copy and paste the Mod-idealcastle-FREERoad.package file into C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\SimCity\SimCityData 
     
    NOTE: sometimes a new "region" will not register the free road cost. Once you restart SimCity it should work perfectly. Existing cities/regions should be good without restart.
    If roads require costs, please restart SimCity, this only happens once you create a new region. (might be a Maxis issue, where you create a new region and they use the server script instead, but once restarted, you are good to go!) 
     
    Have an older version? 
    - Please delete that, download and replace with the most current.
    - Version 1.7 has fixed the zoning bug, and with 1.8, every cost for roads have been set to $0 
     
    Any issues, concerns, comments please let me know. This should not affect other road mods, as this only modifies costs.

  13. This modification replaces original textures of SC2013 railways and streetcar tracks to textures with higher resolution. New diffuse, normal and specular maps were drawn from scratch. Grain size on textures have the correct ratio. 
     
    I made this mod for myself, it's not the final version and it's very far from what I want to see in the result. But with this mod you will get more detailed texture for the railways and will be able to make more realistic screenshots. 
     
    Currently I'm creating 3d-models for the railroad tracks. But at this moment SimCityPak refuses to work with export original tracks. As a result, I can't get the dimensions and parameters of the original model. I'll wait for new versions.
     
    Known glitches: 
    - One side of the double-track railway darker than the other. This is noticeable in the daytime.
    Problem in the original 3D-model (not yet possible to replace it). It's UV-shape are mirrored for the second railway path. Developers in a hurry when injected transport to the game.
     
    - When you connect your railroad to region railway intersection place appears as streetcar tracks.
    This is a mistake of the original game. Requires fix.

  17. This mod adds the overhead power lines for electric trains (which are called 'catenary') to all of your railroads. This was inspired by the power lines that go along dirt roads, and works exactly the same - which sadly also means that there are no power lines on intersections. Nevertheless, they look really good in combination with the recently released TGV mod (but none of my other mods are actually required, you can also just use it with the default train).

  21. Since I've made some progress regarding the saving of texture/RW4 models, I see no reason not to share my first texture mod. A lot of the changes made in this mod are merely for testing purposes, so they might change in future versions.
     
    Includes the following changes:
    Replaced all American-style yellow median lines with white ones
    Made all roads the same dark shade of asphalt.
    Replaced the 'striped' median for the highest density avenue with pavement
    I've included a screenshot of the same road layout with the original textures for comparison.

  22. Are you wanting to give your cities and regions a nice little bit of "character"? Perhaps the whole gray asphalt thing isn't working for you... Well have I got a deal for you, a nice little treat with not one, not two, but FOUR new road textures to satisfy your fantasy craving!
     
    This pack contains four road textures sets that not only reskin the normal roads, but also even FUTURIZE with the futuristic buildings! No more dealing with that generic futuristic road that glows... Now you can have your pick from these four road packs:
     
    Brick Roads - "Draconic"
    Do your best to recreate a city street of another era with this set of brick roads and sidewalks. Futurize it for some nice glowing lines and racing streaks! Great for the older parts of town and more laid back cities.
     
    Concrete Roads - "Jazz Age"
    This dark road is lined with flagstones at the sides to give it a very flashy look, a look that carries over well even in futurization. Give this road to your casino towns and New York City inspired cities who didn't want to get out of the roaring 20s.
     
    Salvaged Roads - "Orcish"
    Start off with smoothed dirt and wood held down with metal railing to get your sims thinking they're walking in a completely different realm, but then start futurizing and watch as the world becomes encased in steel and grime that could put even the Horde to the shame. Ideal for either simple towns in the middle of nowhere or for futurizing goons of OmegaCo and Dystopian dispositions. For that extra nerdy flavor, use in the desert regions too!
     
    Temple Roads - "Pandaren"
    Put your sims on the roads of [an American Artist's] interpretation of the Orient. Start with the basic white-washed marble and pressed dirt, or switch to a jade-colored filler stone with jewel lights if you like to futurize. Good for tourist towns, jungle retreats, and creating your animesque town in SimNation.
     
    All roads are compatible with the UDoN mod by Xoxide, feature their own bump-maps and futurizing "Tron-Line" lights, and should have no problem working online or offline along with other mods.
     
    Again, these roads are aimed at adding a FANTASY and STYLISTIC appeal to your cities as opposed to a REALISTIC appeal. There are some other very good modders who have created some very nice real-world roads... But if there are problems with texturing issues, game crashes, and the like, let me know because I don't want all this work to be fruitless.
     
    *NOTE: I don't know why I called it "Road Pack 1", given that the files are fairly small enough that I could probably squeeze in four more road packs. Either way, I hope you have been enjoying these roads and are eagerly awaiting more mods from me in the near future for this game. Granted, this may not be as big of an under-taking as Project Orion, but having more building sets and roads to chose from is a welcome plus to this game.

    I think the highway design was a failure.
    Capacity of the interchange is too small.

  25. It's been a while since my last release, but I've been working on a few cool things including a complete rework of my Original Euro Road mod. This one is mostly based on the Dutch road and sidewalk styles, but they fit in in most European aesthetics.
     
    Notes:
    * The bicycle lanes are only for decoration
    * Includes the darker textures for all roads
