An appeal for your support: Help us keep the STEX up and running   11/06/2015

Hi Community, this is a public appeal for help to keep the STEX up and running! We currently need your help to offset some of our operational costs and upgrades! As you know, we've always relied on community donations to help keep the website running. And while all our admins and moderators volunteer their time to managing the site and community, we do have modest expenses that we need to cover each month which includes our server hosting fees, software and support licenses, etc. So lately, we've experienced a slump with donations and we're beginning to feel the pinch! We would really appreciate your support by way of a donation of any amount in order to keep the site up and running. Of course, as always, we'll send you a gift with a minimum donation as a Thank You. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to PM me!  Sincerely; Dirktator & The Admins PS. Thank you to those who have stepped up and donated the last couple weeks -- we really appreciate it!

1. Little Whinging Style House

PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION, OR AT LEAST THE RED PART.     I am finally releasing my first BAT.  :)   Little Whinging is a town in the county of Surrey, England, in the world of Harry Potter. This BAT is, as I once said on the topic of Harry Potter Project, a generic version of the house where Harry lives, I mean, the house is the same, but the lot was made in LOT Editor, so people can modify it whenever you want. The original version of 4 Privet Drive will come out in a few days, but the latest images can be seen here.         When you download the file you have two options, the MN version (Maxis Night) and the DN version (Dark Night). Pay attention, if you use SimFox Day and Nite Modd, download the DN version, but if you do not use or even know what it is, download the MN version. There is a R$$ version and a Landmark version in each one.   Maxis Night version: no dependencies. Dark Night version: only SimFox Day and Nite Modd.

2. Magnolia Building

More pictures:

The Magnolia Building, also called the Magnolia Petroleum Building and currently Magnolia Hotel is an iconic building in the city of Dallas, TX, USA. Built in 1921 in the Beaux-Arts style, the building has the Pegasus horse at the top since 1934, the logo of the Magnolia Petroleum Company and later Mobil Oil logo as well when they merged. The Pegasus became a symbol in the city.
The model is available in two versions: Landmark and Commercial Service.

Plop cost: 50,000
Lot size: 3x2

Commercial Service:
Lot Size: 3x2
C$$$: 4,000
C$$: 5,000
C$: 6,000
Unzip the files from the .zip to your Plugins folder. There are four .zip files in the download area. Be aware!

Magnolia Building - LM-MN : this is the Landmark version for those who do not use SimFox Day and Nite Modd.
Magnolia Building - CS-MN: this is the Commercial Service version for those who do not use SimFox Day and Nite Modd.
Magnolia Building - LM-DN: this is the Landmark version for those using SimFox Day and Nite Modd.
Magnolia Building - CS-DN: this is the Commercial Service version for those using SimFox Day and Nite Modd.
Note: if you download both MaxisNite files you can delete one of the .sc4model file. The same to DarkNite.

Reddonquixote for this awesome sculpture he did for the building entrance. Thanks also to those who helped me with some problems to render, Jasoncw, c.p., Mattb325 and mgb204.

3. Air Filter

The Air Filter reduces air pollution by sucking air through a dense volume of special vegetation which captures particles found in the air.  Run off water is collected underneath the filter, and is used to water the vegetation, resulting in cleaner water as well.

This small lot has pollution reduction capabilities far above those of other parks and trees.  They're especially useful for reducing pollution cause by traffic, though they'll reduce air pollution wherever you put them (in between transit networks, mixed in with zones, mixed in with parks, etc.).  Its small size allows you to place the Air Filter nearly anywhere you need it.

Reduced pollution will increase desirability, and allow for larger and wealthier buildings, as well as high tech industry, resulting in more tax revenue.

However, the Air Filter is not a cheat lot.  The lots are cheap enough that you can use them throughout your city, but they are not so cheap that you can place them thoughtlessly without hurting your budget.  And while they can overcome pollution they can not overcome bad city planning.

The Air Filter is a 1x1 lot which can be found in your Parks and Recreation menu.  More information can be found below.

Files Included:

Jasoncw - Air Filter.SC4Model:  This is the building itself.  Features TruNite.  This file is required.
Jasoncw - Air Filter.SC4Lot:
              Lot Size:  1x1 Tiles
              Plop Cost:  §325
             Monthly Cost:  §20

Air Pollution:  -45 over 5 Tiles
Water Pollution:  -4 over 5 Tiles

Park Effect:  +1 over 5 Tiles
Landmark Effect:  +2 over 5 Tiles

Installation Instructions:

Place Jasoncw - Air Filter.SC4Model, and Jasoncw - Air Filter.SC4Lot into your Plugins folder (My Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins or My Computer/Program Files/SimCity 4 Deluxe/Plugins).

4. Dental Clinic

Dental Clinic, by Mattb325.
Few people look forward to a trip to the dentist, but as every one knows, part of general health care is looking after your pearly whites. I've often wondered at how bad the Sims teeth must be, given that there is no specific health exemplar for dentistry and there are next to no such clinics in Sim City!
This little building is inspired by a real such mid-century low rise building near downtown Los Angeles. I really liked the curved entrance façade and small, high windows within the curtain wall and of course, the unmistakable dental signage ensures that the building's function is immediately recognisable.
As an added bonus, this building will function equally well as a stand-alone building or in a Wall-to-Wall environment.
In game, I use buildings like this to supplement the main hospital function and I have modded the capacities to sit mid way between the clinic and standard hospital. But it will work equally well in a smaller city without the need for an additional hospital.

Lot size :                    2 x 2
Plop Cost:                 §1,250
Monthly Cost:           §900
Patient Capacity:     1,850
Coverage Radius:    656m/41 Tiles
Demand Created:    Jobs§: 17, Jobs§§: 39, Jobs§§§: 12.
Wealth:                      Medium Wealth
Pollution:                   Air 1 over 3 tiles, Water 1 over 4 tiles, Garbage 0 over 0 tiles
Power consumed:    4 MwH
Water consumed:    12 Gallons/Month
Bulldoze Cost:          §70
This download contains TWO model files; one for dark nite users (and other night-time darkening mods, such as Gizmos
night-mod) and one for the standard Maxis nite.
You must keep only one file - depending on which version you use. If you are unsure whether you have a night-darkening
mod installed, then choose the Maxis night version. Regardless of which file you choose to keep, make sure you DO NOT
delete the Lot File!
If you use the dark nite version, you will need a dark nite mod. Either:
(http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/23089-simfox-day-and-nite-modd/) OR
This file requires no external dependencies.

To install, simply unzip the contents of this file into your plugins folder.
Thanks, and enjoy!

5. 45 Rue Jeanne D'Arc

This BAT is loosely based on a Parisian Left Bank apartment building. It may not look like typical Parisian building from Belle Epoque period, but it was built in 1888 as a social housing. Thus perhaps uncommon red brick façade for a central Paris building.
Because the real life building has shops on the ground floor, I offer this building as R$ and C$. Shame that SC4 doesn’t support dual function buildings.
I offer two versions, HD and SD. I like HD buildings, but those do not always mix well with other BATs. This is especially apparent when I did compare my building with Xannapan’s and Porkissimo’s masterful Paris buildings. Therefore I have included a SD option for those who prefer it. Choose the folder you like. Both HD and SD buildings can coexist in same city as the models, descs and lots are separate.

6. Town gate

Some informations:
Michael's Gate (Bratislava, Slovakia) is the only city gate that has been preserved of the medieval fortifications and ranks among the oldest town buildings. Built about the year 1300, its present shape is the result of baroque reconstructions in 1758, when the statue of St. Michael and the Dragon was placed on its top. The tower houses the Exhibition of Weapons of Bratislava City Museum.

7. HK International Commerce Centre dark night version

The Hong Kong / Asia BAT Team
International Commerce Centre (ICC)
BAT created by paulvmontfort
Modding, lot design, readme & custom menu icon by T Wrecks
Check out the Hong Kong / Asia BAT Team room at Simtropolis

If you already installed the previous version you only need to overwrite the .sc4model file!
I also noticed something went wrong in the previous model causing the night fsh's to be doubled. That problem is fixed in this one so the filesize is a lot smaller. I'll fix the other version soon.

Introduction / Overview
This is a recreation of International Commerce Centre, currently (2010) the tallest skyscraper in Hong Kong with a height of 484 metres. The real-world building is situated in Union Square on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong's Victoria Harbour.
With this download, you can add one of the world's tallest buildings to your SimCity, but you better reserve some space, because this baby is BIG!
In total, you will find the following versions:
ploppable landmark (transit-enabled) growable CO$$$ (transit-enabled) Note: This structure is almost too big for SC4, hence the number of jobs that the CO$$$ version holds is actually rather small compared to the size of the building. On the other hand, it may be hard to grow even with this occupant number; going even higher might have made it impossible to grow. Should you encounter problems getting this building to grow, I recommend using the Extra Cheats dll to plop it by means of the "buildingplop" cheat.
A quick reminder about transit-enabled lots: Connecting the lot to your traffic network wherever possible is optional, and not connecting them will not affect the functionality of the building.
Please remember that once a transit-enabled growable lot has grown, it cannot be overgrown by other lots automatically, i.e. once it's there, it will stay there forever unless you bulldoze it. Since ICC is a rather unique building and its lot size is rather exotic, this shouldn't be a problem, though.
BSC Mega Props CP Vol.01
BSC Mega Textures Vol.01
Stats and Values
All game-relevant values you might like to know are listed in the following overview tables. Please note that all versions of this building share the same set of statistics.
Parameter Growable CO$$$ Occupants: 7,500 CO$$$ (12,457 CO$$ when dilapidated) Lot Size / Growth Stage: 7x11 right corner / stage 8 Zone Type: Dense commercial Tileset(s): Euro Value: § 49,337 Worth / Bulldoze Cost: § 2,562 Flammability: 35 / Stage 5 Power consumed: 355 MWh/month Water consumed: 3565 gallons/month Air pollution: 21 over 6 tiles Water pollution: 21 over 7 tiles Garbage generated: 7 tons/month TABLE 2: LANDMARK
Parameter LANDMARK Lot Size 7x11 Menu Position: Landmarks, near bottom Plop Cost: § 250,000 Maintenance Cost: § 480/month Landmark Effect: + 120 over 50 tiles Park Effect: n/a Mayor Rating Effect: +10 over 256 tiles Worth / Bulldoze Cost: § 22,000 Flammability: 35 / Stage 5 Power consumed: 400 MWh/month Water consumed: 1200 gallons/month Air pollution: 6 over 5 tiles Water pollution: 6 over 6 tiles Garbage generated: 20 tons/month Installation
First of all, it is recommended to unzip the entire content of this ZIP into some archive folder where you keep all building versions, readme, and screenshots, and maybe even back it up onto a CD or an external HD together with your other SC4 stuff. This way, if you need to clean your HD and reinstall your OS, you can simply copy the stuff from your backup archive into your plugins folder instead of having to download all plugins anew.
That said, in order to use this building in game, I suggest you first go to your plugins folder and make a sub-folder for this download.
Then, simply copy the .sc4model file (the actual building model) plus the lot file(s) of whatever version(s) you'd like to use into the newly created folder.
To uninstall a version you don't like after it has appeared / been plopped in your cities, first bulldoze all instances of that version in your cities, then save the cities and exit. Now you can safely remove the version without running any risk to experience crashes or any other inconvenience.

Each DAT file blocks a certain group of MAXIS buildings, for flexibility.

Use ALL of the DATs to block all of the ingame buildings, or, use any combination of them at your discretion,
depending on what you want blocked, or not blocked.

To install, simply place whichever files you want to use into your plugins folder. A folder is recommended to keep them organized.

Please check for possible modd conflicts before using, to avoid any issues.

explain it to you.

14. Golden State Insurance

Golden State Insurance Building, by Mattb325.
A striking low/mid rise corner building, Golden State Insurance is based on the building of the same name on 1999 West Adams Boulevard, Los Angeles.
Because Sim City 4 likes to grow high wealth lots on corners, I have spruced up the appearance of this mid-century gem.
It sits on a 3x3 lot (lotted for both corners)as a high-wealth commercial offices (CO§§§) offering.
It is offered as a growable building only - on all tilesets - and competes well with many of the Maxis mid-rises.

17. The Cobb Central Park West

The Cobb Central Park West --
3x4 Growable R$$$ and/or ploppable CS$$ with jobs.

The Cobb Central Park West is an early 20th Century
luxury building for 785 high wealth residential dwellers,
or 195 hotel service workers. The Central Park West
design was inspired by buildings you might see in the
New York neighborhood of the same name.

To install the C.P.W., place the model, desc, and lot
files in your MyDocuments\SimCity4\Plugins folder. The
picture and readme files are optional, for quick ID and
reference, but not needed for the building to work.  If you
don't want either the growable or the ploppable, then you
can delete those lot and .desc files.

This lot does not have any dependencies.

To grow the C.P.W., zone 3x4 dense residential (with 3
tiles streetside -- Hold the ctrl key to keep out the
auto-streets.) You will grow it if you are also growing
similar-sized Maxis buildings, like "The Hogan."

To plop the C.P.W., zone 3x4 dense commercial (with 3
tiles streetside), select the building from your landmark
menu, and plop it. The main query (not the transportation query)
will show 195 jobs. Although 195 might be a low number for
a typical building this size in SC4, hotels normally do not
staff such high numbers. If you want a different number of
jobs, it's extremely easy to edit this with Andreas Roth's

Reflectoblob Monument - Same as the Plaza but also has the cap relief effects of the Convention and Research centers combined in one. I did that because i wanted to get those effects without plopping those lots for myself in my downtowns. As such it needs road access, but thankfully pedmalls fulfill this requirement.
Both lots appear near the top of your Landmarks menu.

The base texture is just the simple medium wealth white, and consequently should get overwritten if you use a texture changer, like in my 3rd pic.

This file has No Dependancies, however it is an HD export, so hardware rendering may be necessary (which you should already be using if you use an HD terrain mod).

For questions, comments, suggestions, whatever, please visit my BAT thread at simpeg.com: Blundered BATs.

Happy Gaming :D

25. Bipin's "Turbout" Turbo-Roundabout Package

Bipin's "Turbout" Turbo Roundabout package includes the necessary components you need for
modernizing your suburban or rural areas. Whether it be gentrifying old neighbourhoods or simply
creating sleek, new modern ones, the four-way stop is quickly becoming a thing of the past in all
corners of the world. There's no better way to hop in the urban revitalization bandwagon than with
these simple, albeit extremely useful pieces that add roundabout intersections for the most crucial
and common intersections your Sims will face!
Begin with building an interchange more or less similar to this one:

As an alternative, you may replace the avenue towards the left and the right with RHW, like I have.
Once that's done, overlap my large roundabout piece so it covers the whole area. That's what you
see in previous pictures.
Included in this package is a highway/surface network roundabout interchange, as well as a highly
modular set of roundabout for smaller, albeit no less common 3x3 surface-street intersections. These
pieces come in several varieties, with zero, one, two three and four crosswalks to meet all your urban
enhancement needs; to fulfill a range of applications where you may wish for greater modularity.
However, as much as I regret saying this, the dependency located here is necessary, for the buildings:
I hope you enjoy this set, and please be sure to check out the smaller Sim City websites around, like
SimMania for instance, which may be found here: http://simmania.darkbb.com/ or SimCityBuffs here:

If there's one thing I'd like you to get out of this BAT set, it's that the lesser-known communities were
heavily involved in this project. A big thanks goes out to SBT (SimMania) and those of you over at
SimPEG. Thanks for all the help over there, I couldn't of done a lot of this without your insight! On
that note, expect to see future BATs released a day or two early on the aforementioned sites.
Note: I am aware of some bugs regarding textures and prop placement. I am fixing them now, so don't fret over the issue.
