  1. Simmons Bank Tower is a 40-story skyscraper located at 425 West Capitol Avenue in downtown Little Rock, Arkansas. At 547 feet (167 m) high, it is currently the tallest building in Arkansas.
    The new tower was born out of discussions between two ascending business executives, John Flake, a Little Rock real estate developer, and Jerry Maulden, president of Arkansas Power & Light (now Entergy). Construction began in 1984 on the $72 million building, and in 1986 the building was completed and dubbed The Capitol Tower. Currently, the namesake tenant, Simmons Bank, is headquartered in the tower with presence in various markets of Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, and Tennessee. Flake & Kelley Commercial, the current name of the development firm of the tower, performs the management and leasing of the tower, and the Doyle Rogers Company is the special asset manager.
    The building was renamed Simmons Tower in April 2014.

    Another Maxis Hi-tech ( stalwart gets a 21st Century facelift.
    Jenquai goes from that small half underground building which steps back from the lot (and is accessed via a sort of draw-bridge) to a shiny, new and much larger facility. Just like the previous building which had sunken areas and elevated walkways, this new IHT factory provides a lovely, leafy sunken courtyard for employees to take lunch as well as a raised walkway connecting the two buildings.
    This version is a Hi-Tech growable anchor 6x6 lot (use the CTRL key when zoning to ensure the correct lot size) and will not interfere with any Maxis blockers or re-lots of the original Jenquai Alchemy.

  4. I have been asked a few times to supply this model in the past. I finally found the motivation to dig it out of my plugins folder.
    THIS DOES NOT COME WITH A LOT! .sc4model only!
    This is the model only. I have neither the game nor any of the modding tools installed at this point so you will have to do the modding and make the lot yourself. Sorry! The images show what I cooked up... 8 years ago?!? Jeez, I can't believe it has been so long. I have a full time job and another hobby that eats most of my free time, but I miss all of you that made SC4 fun for as long as I was active.

  5. This is the third set of my Dutch Housing project. It contains models from Dutch or Dutch-like architecture built roughly between 1920 and 1970. The set counts 88 different lots in R$, R$$ and R$$$, in several sizes and several growth stages.
    A small remark: from the Mntoes download you need to use the SD props, not the HD. Because they have different TGI you would end up with brown boxes. These have their own beauty, but the lots would not look like I intended.
    You need an awful lot of dependencies, although most of them are very common ones.

    Inspired by the art deco buildings around the Portsmouth, UK area, Quay House is a large (at least by the standards of the 1930s) eight story building in the functionalist style.
    The boxy building is broken up by complex massing and many terraces to allow air and sunlight to permeate the building, both of which were a very serious component of any good early 20th Century architecture. The main feature however is the off-centred granite clad staircase and lift riser with an oversized clock.

    The lot comes in two flavours: a growable High-Wealth Commercial Office and a ploppable Clinic, which is found in the Health Menu and is comparable to the in-game hospital in terms of capacity and coverage radius. Both lots are 3x3.

    1 - INTRODUCTION/OVERVIEW
     
    This is the 18th upload in a second series of IRM W2W lots based on BAT models made by other artists, this time manufacturing industry. For this upload, I turned Empire Leather Works by jestarr into an entire family of no fewer than 10 lots - from a single compact W2W factory to large complexes with multiple buildings..
     
    The lots will provide 80 I-M jobs (Empire Leather Works 1), 96 I-M jobs (Empire Leather Works 2), 160 I-M jobs (Empire Leather Works 3 and 4), 208 I-M jobs (Empire Leather Works 5), respectively. Here's the lot breakdown:
    1x2 straight, stage 1 [Empire Leather Works 1] 4x2 left corner, stage 1 [Empire Leather Works 2] 4x2 right corner, stage 1 [Empire Leather Works 2] 5x4 left corner, stage 1 [Empire Leather Works 3] 5x4 right corner, stage 1 [Empire Leather Works 3] 5x4 left corner, stage 1 [Empire Leather Works 4] 5x4 right corner, stage 1 [Empire Leather Works 4] 6x5 left corner, stage 1 [Empire Leather Works 5] 6x5 right corner, stage 1 [Empire Leather Works 5] 6x6 straight, stage 1 [Empire Leather Works 5] In keeping with the other IRM stuff, the job numbers are intended to be in line with Maxis stuff if you use Toroca's Industrial Jobs Quadrupler. Since you cannot zone large coherent areas with W2W industrial and the lots can be complemented with fillers, the resulting job density will, in fact, be not that excessive. For the same reason, growth stages for IRM W2W are generally kept low.
     
     
    2 - USE
     
    If you extract this archive to your root plugins folder, it should create a folder IRM\IRM W2W Expansion\[NAME OF BAT], where [NAME OF BAT] represents the name of this download item. Within that folder, you will find all the game-relevant files and a sub-folder containing the HTML readme and some screenshot(s).
     
    If you no longer wish to use this download, proceed as follows:
    Bulldoze all lots pertaining to this download Save all the cities and exit the game when you're done bulldozing Remove the associated files from your plugins folder Hint: Just to be sure, I recommend moving the undesired files somewhere else and doing some checks before you delete them permanently. This way, if it turns out you forgot to bulldoze something, you can add it back in temporarily until you're done.
     
     
    3 - DEPENDENCIES
     
    IRM W2W Base Pack
    Since this is an extension to the IRM, all the dependencies of the original IRM base pack still apply.
     
    In addition to this, you'll need BSC Mega Props Jestarr Vol. 06 to see the buildings:
    BSC Mega Props - JES Vol06 (v1.0). It doesn't only contain the train cars etc. you can see in the screenshot, but also all the required building models.
     
    If you want to have the option of blocking the enclosed lots from growing temporarily, for example when you want to go back to regular (i.e., non-W2W) IRM industry for a while, you can use the IRM W2W Expansion Blocker v 1.0 (or higher) from January 23, 2015 (or later).

    It's not only "old" buildings that are demolished in the name of the progress.
    This building was constructed in 1959 and used to stand at the corner of Hollywood and Highland Ave, Los Angeles. It formed and framed a famous part of the view from Graumans Chinese Theatre down Hollywood Blvd.
    It was demolished in the late 80s for the Hollywood & Highland project (i.e. where the Academy awards are filmed now).
    While this is not an exact recration of the old First Federal Bank, it is a good example of the Southern Californian mid-century, heavy-set, mid-rise office building.
    The beauty of these buildings is sheer quality of their materials: polished limestone with contrasting highly polished granite base, crittal steel windows and polished marble forecourts, but "progress", as well as the need to expensively retro-fit many mid-century buildings in shaky California saw these gems consigned to the wrecking ball.
    To make it a little bit different, I've angled it 45 degrees for a corner lot as there really aren't many such taller buildings in this game and by doing this it complements a lot of the taller angled residentials from Sim Fox, Bixel, HKABT et al.
    This building is offered as a growable high-wealth mid-rise building on all tilesets. It grows easily, but as it is limited to a 4x4 corner lot (there is one for both left and right corners) it isn't weedy. Hold the CTRL key while zoning to ensure that you get the lot size.

    Inspired by the old Won Won Apartments on the Asian Tileset in SC3000, Wan Wan apartments have that real retro vibe of 1980's apartment buildings.
    These are tall apartment complexes come in at 12 floors to capture the views and are solidly constructed from brick and coloured concrete infill panels.
    Each building also has underground parking, there are two apartments on the ground floor, four apartments per floor from floors 1 through 9, and the four apartments on 11th and 12th floor apartments are 2 story penthouses with a lovely sun-terrace to lie down and soak up the rays before the 1990's rolled around and everyone was told not to sun-bake.
    This version is not a 100% accurate copy, but it is true to the language of the architectural style of the original building and this is simply one that I made for myself, but have decided to share with the community.
    The lot and models come in a few variations: all of them are growable R§§ iterations and there are both orthogonal - and - because it's a SC3000 building, a 45 degree version as well. The larger 6x6 and 8x8 lots are landscaped, and to help these grow, use the CTRL key while zoning. All lots are designed to grow on the Houston and Euro tilesets only.

    This is an otherwise dumpy little post WWII inner-city low-mid rise building which is transformed by an unusual (for SimCity at least) butterfly roof on the eighth floor penthouse. The butterfly roof was a design classic of the late 1940's to mid 1950's that created amazing, soaring, light-filled interior spaces that forced the eye up and out along the inverted plane of the roof line through dazzling clerestory windows. A lot of modern buildings are also reviving this simple trend.
    After WWII, buildings called 'Europa House' seemed to spring up in cities everywhere: perhaps it served as a bricks and mortar reminder of the horrors of war and the constant need to vigilant against extremist views and ideologies (a lesson we seem to have forgotten). Whatever the case, if these buildings still stand today, they are usually fairly low-value commercials, and this is what I have created for the game.
    The lot comes in two 2x2 flavours: a growable LOW-WEALTH Commercial Services and a growable MID-WEALTH Commercial Office. And, with a name like 'Europa House' this grows only on the Euro tile-set.

    This is a fictional building, the idea for which was inspired by a BAT by Heblem "LBT Torre de Comunicaciones Telmex" available on CapitalSimCity.
    In real life data centers are used for many companies who either a) outsource their IT infrastructure or b) wish to house their IT infrastructure in a seperate location from their main offices due to either lack of space or for business continuity and disaster recovery purposes. 
    I made this little building for myself and have decided to share it. 
    It is representative of data centres that are often dotted within denser urban locations: its boxy, heavy set design with raise entry is meant to ensure it can withstand ram-raids and bomb attacks. This data centre will fit into a W2W environment, but also as a stand alone building.
    It is designed for a 2x2 PLOPPABLE ONLY lot - it really isn't something that you want springing up multiple times in a city - and provides relief from demand caps for Res and I-HT (in real life Hi-tech industry rarely houses its IT infrastructure within the factory walls that it occupies). 
    It is in the Landmarks menu and functions as ploppable IH-T industry.
    It provides 325 Hi Tech Jobs.

  12. Modern Sound Barriers, by Mattb325.

    A set of nine sound barrier lots to grace your ground-level highways, heavy rail (etc): really, these can be placed anywhere you think noise from adjacent transport lots might be an issue for your long-suffering sims.
    While there are other noise barrier lots out there, I found that some were simply too big, some were too grungy, some didn't have diagonal options and there was a distinct lack of modern-looking barriers, so I made some to suit my own taste.
    These sound barriers are a modern concrete, steel and glass option.
    The lots have Orthogonal, Diagonal, Orthogonal to Diagonal and Left and Right Overhanging options.
    The Ortho->Diag options can be a bit fiddly to place, but you'll soon get the hang of it and to that end each lot has a custom icon to try and make the job a little easier (the standard ortho and diagonals simply have a grey line icon, while the more complex ones have a little picture as well). As a general rule, you should aim to place these lots with the curved glass top facing towards the noise (this has a cupping effect to dampen the noise beyond the wall).
    They are found in the parks menu - about half way down. Now, depending on your plugins folder they may not be sequential (i.e. other park lots might appear in between) but they will be very closely positioned to each other in the menu.
    As I made these for myself and designed them to be high-end, nice looking sound walls, they do have a park effect (and associated monthly cost), so if you are trying to keep your city looking grungy, don't use these.
    While some of you may think that this is very un-realistic, please be mindful that you would only see these sorts of walls bordering nicer residential/commercial/industrial areas in real life, so these lots are designed to stimulate medium to high wealth growth rather than simply being neutral...unfortunately this is the way the game works and to my mind, when modding something with an in-built desirability, it should come with an associated cost.
    All the lots have been made transparent (and do not suffer the water bug) so that they will blend in with your terrain.

    Inspired by a picture posted by a member of Simtropolis, the real Eddy Hall was constructed in 1886 as the Mechanic Arts Building for the University of Minnesota.
    The actual building is a simplified Queen Anne style executed in red-brick and red sandstone trim. The square tower which is slightly offset from the centre of the building dominates the frontage; it, together with the multi-gabled roof, large windows, patterned brick panels and wrough iron cresting make this a charming, eye catching building.
    This version is not a 100% accurate copy, but it is true to the language of the architectural style of the original building and this is simply one that I made for myself, but have decided to share with the community.
    The lot comes in two flavours: a growable Commercial Services (3x2 and 3x3...there is always an insatiable need for CS§§§ in game) and a ploppable College on a 4x4 lot, which is found in the Education Menu.

  15. Well, it only took me three years. 
    I created the first house model back in August of 2012. I was pretty good at avoiding making any progress on these for a while, but I finally got the urge to actually finish them over spring break a couple months back. Today, I present to you 8 house designs with 4 color variations each for a total of 32 unique houses. Additionally, I have modeled a small set of 9 detached garages to supplement the houses in a manner similar to what you might see in real life. However, for those of you who prefer the default Maxis garages, I am including a separate version that does not contain the ones I modeled. 
    Also, for anyone who would like to use the garages (or the houses, of course) in your own lots, you hereby have my permission!
    These houses are all based on real world counterparts in the Morris Park neighborhood of South Minneapolis. To anyone who lives there: I apologize for spending hours on end looking at your house on Google Maps. It's only weird if you make it weird. 
    The brilliant SimCoug has graciously lotted and modded a wide variety of lots of various sizes for this upload, which uses the following dependencies:

    As part of providing some much needed, long overdue upgrades to some of the Maxis I-HT stalwarts, I decided that Max's Microchips deserved a new 're-imaging' for the 21st Century. Please note that this doesn't interfere with the original Maxis files and will also work for those who have a Maxis blocker installed.
    This I-HT Anchor lot comes in two flavours: 6x6 and 8x8 (use the CTRL Key while zoning to ensure that you get the correct lot size).
    It is growable only on medium and high density Industrial zones and provides 1,184 jobs.
    The building itself is strictly fictional; although I drew inspiration from the some of the Industrial developments that are springing up in SE Asia where large areas of the building activity and function are contained underground. This is one such building as evidenced by the sloping driveway and reflective pond covered roof punctuated by air intake vents.
    The two floors visible from street level are for office and reception space.

    As part of providing some much needed, long overdue upgrades to some of the Maxis I-HT stalwarts, I decided that Kane Tiberium deserved a new 're-imaging' for the 21st Century. After all, the in-game dumpy little structure has been filling up any I-HT zone for almost 15 years, so it is probably due for some extra space.
    Given the initial rather pointless reference to an external game with the naming of this building, I doubt that such an industry could survive all this time in the real world. So in my version, Kane Tiberium makes NutriliteTM vitamins, minerals & dietary supplements products to turn a buck.
    Please note that this new file doesn't interfere with the original Maxis files and will work for those who have a Maxis blocker installed.
    This I-HT Anchor lot comes in two flavours: 4x3 and 4x4 (use the CTRL Key while zoning to ensure that you get the correct lot size).
    It is growable only on medium and high density Industrial zones and provides between 300 jobs.
    The building itself is based on a boxy mid-century modern design and brings a retro flair to your industrial zones.

    This is the updated 3ds HD version of the 4th release of the Towers of Steel Project. The WBNS-TV Broadcast Tower is a 839ft (256m) tall freestanding lattice tower located in Columbus, Ohio. When built in 1956 it was the 10th tallest free standing structure in the world. The tower is a local landmark in downtown Columbus along with a nearby supertall guyed mast. It remains the tallest freestanding structure in the city to this day. The structure has a very narrow height to width ratio of 12:1 at its base and about 30:1 at its mid point. This is slightly thinner than the real life version(10:1) to enable it to fit on a 1x1 lot without overhanging too much. The call sign was also raised a little into the white painted section so it would be more visible in the day mode. The lot can be found at the bottom of the Landmark menu, some commercial cap relief and a landmark effect is also provided.

    Two versions are available, one for maxis night and one for the dark night mod.

    *Update* added a third file for the small station building at the base of the tower. This was originally a maxis building, the dat file included will all it to show up as a prop. The file is now included in both version. If you've already downloaded one of the previous versions all that's needed is to download the small building file.

    As part of providing some much needed, long overdue upgrades to some of the Maxis I-HT stalwarts, I decided that Stratton Biotech deserved a new 're-imaging' for the 21st Century. After all, it has been filling up any I-HT zone for almost 15 years, so it is probably due for some extra space. Please note that this new file doesn't interfere with the original Maxis files and will work for those who have a Maxis blocker installed.
    This I-HT Anchor lot comes in two flavours: 4x4 and 8x8 (use the CTRL Key while zoning to ensure that you get the correct lot size).
    It is growable only on medium and high density Industrial zones and provides between 204 and 1,122 jobs (depending on the lot size).
    The building itself is strictly fictional: I have used exposed steel girders, a false wall and false window panelling to shelter a central courtyard. This lends a more substantial air to the front façade.

  22. Nelson Tower is a 46 story 171 meter (560 feet) tall building located at 450 7th Avenue in Manhattan, New York City, United States.
    It was completed in 1931 and became the tallest building in the Garment District of New York. Today it is dwarfed by the 60 story One Penn Plaza that sits across 34th Street from the Nelson Tower but still visible from most directions except the southeast. It was designed by H. Craig Severance. The building was originally planned and built by New York developer, Julius Nelson.

  23. The Hearst Tower is a building with the addresses of 300 West 57th Street and 959 Eighth Avenue,[2] near Columbus Circle, in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. It is the world headquarters of Hearst Communications, housing the numerous publications and communications companies of the media conglomerate under one roof, including, among others, Cosmopolitan, Esquire, Marie Claire, Harper's Bazaar, Good Housekeeping, and Seventeen.
     
    The six-story base of the headquarters building was commissioned by the founder, William Randolph Hearst, and awarded to the architect Joseph Urban. The building was completed in 1928[3] at a cost of $2 million and contained 40,000 square feet (3,700 m2). The original cast stone facade has been preserved in the new design as a designated Landmark site. Originally built as the base for a proposed skyscraper, the construction of the tower was postponed due to the Great Depression. The new tower addition was completed nearly eighty years later, and 2,000 Hearst employees moved in on June 26, 2006.

  24. Just when you thought there couldn't possibly be any more skyscrapers uploaded to Simtropolis, here comes One Starr Center. But this isn't "just another BAT skyscraper," this is a BAT skyscraper by JaWood! Not sure if that means anything special, though :-) It has been designed in the post-modern contemporary style with clean lines and simple features. Completely surrounded in glass, it gives virtually every worker inside a wonderfull view of Sim City. At night, it lights up the city skyline with a striking blue glow!
