Please help us for June & July   06/20/2017

This month we're hoping for a little bit of a boost this month or next, in addition to covering the regular bills, we could benefit from some hardware upgrades. STEX Collector's Set gifts can now be sent to you via digital download as well as regular mail if you wish! Every donation dollar goes toward keeping Simtropolis online and humming along. Your contribution counts! Hardware Upgrades As our website community software improves with more and more features, and as we bolt on additional features such as chat, the increased load to handle all these new toys is taking the server a bit to task. You may have noticed that we'd been forced to temporarily disable the chat as we worked out allocating resources for more optimal performance. Following this, we've applied a number of 'soft' changes such as caching options and experimented with server configurations (nginx as proxy, for example), so the hardware aspect is also an area we'd like to focus on. The last time we upgraded hardware was back in 2012, prior to the release of SC13. Your contribution means a lot! Your donation will go toward helping us to 1.) migrate to a newer server or 2.) at least get some ram/cpu/storage updates and any other infrastructure hardware or services. Donate and Get a Gift or Donate Any Amount Thanks so much! - Dirktator & The Admins

  2. Attention here, folks!!! The Seaview Apartments model in this download has the same IID as the Cast Iron Lofts model from Don Miguel! So it won't grow the way it should!

  4. I know it's sized 2x1, but what kind of residential do I need to zone for this to grow? Light, medium, or high density? Or does it not matter? Anyone who can answer I appreciate it.
  5. Love your work, but since a handful of files now from different users require offsite files that link to dead links I wish it was a rule here that all dependencies should be on site somehow. Thanks for the reup of the files...
  6. I'm still working on the Maxis Vanilla tilesets presentation, but yeah its endless how many amazing artists have contributed to the SC4 repository over the past 14 years. The problem with the tilesets and with RCI is that there's too much repetition. I'm going to use for the first time a Maxis blocker that will eliminate all vanilla repetition and reveal whatever user created programming defines. However, my project is not specific to agriculture. We'll get back to that later.

Description This is a 1:1 scale map of the greater area of Boston, Massachusetts. Since this is my first map, there might be a few kinks. Areas include: downtown Boston, Boston Logan Intl. Airport, Cambridge, Winthrop, Brookline, and more! This map is almost completely flat, so it's perfect for heavy development. Instructions on installation in the readme file included in the download.
  8. Since this is growable, what size lot do I zone for this building to grow? (Ex. 2x2, 3x3, etc.?) Anyone who can answer this I'd appreciate it.
  9. This reminds me of the old one up by my house. The new Walmart got built next door in a big open area with the newer super center building, the old one now is a Tractor supply Co., Dollar Tree and a little Hibbett sports.
  10. Extract the file SimCity 4 Extra Cheats Plugin.dll to the root directory of your plugins folder. This means put the file in C:\...\My Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins. DO NOT put the file into a sub-folder, it will only work if placed into the main directory. Then enter your game and follow the instructions above. does this mean put it || \/ \My Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins [here]\sub-folder
  11. And I'm not done yet. Thanks for your support!

The largest known city built without cheating, Setegria houses 6,015,141 sims. The design of the city features several minor improvements over the design of previous large cities. The number of subway stations has been reduced to 377, from 400 in Magnasanti. The number of police stations has been reduced to 53, from 55. Connections to other cities now occupy the same tiles as RCI buildings, saving another 33 tiles. This comes at the expense of some stability. Some residential buildings along the northeast and southeast edges are too far from nearby industry, and will eventually become abandoned. Changing the building style may cause the city jails to become overcrowded. Two extra jails should be built beforehand. Enjoy!

City by Douglas McMurray. In his words, "[Rosettia is a] city designed using an unique octagon pattern with a futuristic Asian architect. The city encompasses a mountain range as well as a water inlet. The forest enhances the city's landscape. The city is a major center for scientific and medical research, fine arts and healthcare. It also boasts a premiere mass transit system, a spaceport, and many other wonderful details."

Unfinished collaborative city between Imperar and Wiz. The original blurb: "A mysterious city, Intropia was conceptualized with help of a Dutch friend. With our ideas combined, we took turns building and let our minds run wild and free to create a city the likes of which we have never done before, a city of pure artistic imagination. Although not completed, the end result in our eyes, was a stunning, timeless, masterpiece. Intropia gave us the opportunity to try out some of the most radical design themes and styles that we could not have thought previously, had we not built the city together: endless streams of parks, trees, lakes, roads, including a vast dynamic network of strange shapes, places, patterns, spaces, and intense magnitudes of gentrification, all arranged in such a way that it gives the observer the impression that he or she was in a reality that was out of this world. One can simply fall in love with the quantified abundance of harmony and natural equilibrium that exists so expressively in this city. Happy touring! "
